He was a parishioner of the Assumption R.C. Church, Emerson. Arrangements: Becker Funeral Home, Westwood.

FREDA SCHWARTZ LAIKIN, 96, of Fort Lee, formerly of North Bergen, died Sunday. She was a member of Temple Israel, Cliffside Park, and a past president of Hadassah North Hudson Chapter. Arrangements: Wein & Wein, Englewood.

SHIRLEY W. LOGES, 81, of Clifton died Thursday. She was a member of Peace Chapter 98, Order of the Eastern Star, Clifton, and a former member of the Paterson Valley Cedarettes. Arrangements: Allwood Funeral Home, Clifton.

VINCENZO JAMES LOMBARDO, 84, of North Haledon died Sunday. Before retiring in 1978, he was a union delegate at Curtiss-Wright Corp., Wood-Ridge, where he worked for 38 years. He was a former special police officer for North Haledon. Arrangements: Browning-Forshay Funeral Home, Hawthorne.

RICHARD A. MARCK, 47, of Nutley, formerly of North Arlington, died Saturday. Before retiring in 1990, he was a driver for Allied Roofing, East Rutherford. He was a member of Teamsters Local 11, Clifton. Arrangements: Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home, Lyndhurst.

EVELYN T. MASI, 82, of Redwood City, Calif., formerly of Ridgewood, died Saturday. She was born in Italy. She was a former member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel R.C. Church, Ridgewood. Arrangements: C.C. Van Emburgh Funeral Home, Ridgewood.

MAXWELL J. MILLAR, 68, of Wayne died Saturday. Before retiring in 1992, he was an electrician with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Union Local 52, Newark, where he worked for 37 years. He was a founding parishioner of Our Lady of Consolation R.C. Church, Wayne. Arrangements: Vander May Wayne Colonial Funeral Home, Wayne.

CHARLES J. MILLER, 81, of Lakehurst, formerly of Ridgefield Park, died Monday. Before retiring in 1976, he was an assembler at Bendix Corp., Teterboro, where he worked for 30 years. He was an Army veteran of World War II. Arrangements: Volk-Leber Funeral Home, Palisades Park.

JEAN M. MILLIREN, 89, of Soddy-Daisy, Tenn., formerly of Englewood, died Sunday. Before retiring in 1990, she was a teacher at the Elisabeth Morrow School, Englewood, where she worked for 35 years. She was a graduate of Vassar College. Arrangements: Williamson & Sons Funeral Home, Soddy-Daisy.

CHARLOTTE POPP, 87, of Palisades Park, formerly of Weehawken, died Monday. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Palisades Park. Arrangements: Becker Funeral Home, Westwood.

BEA BERMAN ROSENZWEIG, 79, of Boca Raton, Fla., formerly of Bergenfield, died Sunday. She was a member of Temple Beth Israel, Bergenfield. Arrangements: Gutterman-Musicant Funeral Home, Hackensack.

GEORGE B. SHERIDAN, 75, of Waldwick died Monday. Before retiring in 1986, he was a 30-year teacher with the Closter Board of Education. He was an Army Air Force veteran of World War II. Arrangements: Van Emburgh-Sneider Funeral Home, Ramsey.

SUE PALKO SMAGULA, 86, of Wallington, formerly of Elmwood Park, died Monday. She was a parishioner of Most Sacred Heart R.C. Church, Wallington. She was a past president of the Seniors and a member of AARP, both in Wallington. Arrangements: Kamienski Funeral Home, Wallington.

RUSSELL J. SPOTO, 72, of Garfield died Sunday. Before retiring in 1995, he was a truck driver for Leaseway Corp., Newark. He was a Navy veteran of World War II, a Purple Heart recipient, and a member of the National Purple Heart Organization. He was a parishioner of Our Lady of Sorrows R.C. Church, Garfield. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3484 and American Legion Post 415, both in Saddle Brook. He was a member of Elks Lodge 2267, Garfield. Arrangements: Kamienski Funeral Home, Garfield.

ANN STEGEN, 87, of Clifton died Sunday. Before retiring in 1973, she was a vice president of the Bank of New York, where she worked for 40 years. She was a parishioner of St. John the Baptist R.O. Church, Passaic. She was a member of the AARP, Allwood Chapter 1272, Clifton. Arrangements: Allwood Funeral Home, Clifton.

ANNA SMITH SYNES, 100, of Hackensack died Monday. She was a member of the National Council of Jewish Women, Hadassah, and the sisterhood of Temple Beth Sholom in Teaneck. For many years, she was a volunteer at Hackensack University Medical Center. Arrangements: Robert Schoem's Menorah Chapel, Paramus.

FRANK G. TAURAS, 88, of Fair Lawn, formerly of Ringwood and Clifton, died Saturday.
