An Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, he was past president of the Catholic War Veterans, Lodi.
He was a parishioner of St. Francis de Sales R.C. Church, Lodi, where he was a member of the Holy Name Society and served as an usher and Eucharistic minister.
He was a member of the Father's Club of Bergen Catholic High School.

RICHARD E. "DICK" ROBY, 84, of Wayne, formerly of River Edge and Hackensack, died Saturday.
Before retiring in 1984, he was supervisor of purification and watershed for the Passaic Valley Water Commission, Little Falls, where he worked for 37 years.
He was an Army veteran of World War II.
He was a 1940 graduate of the University of Rhode Island with a degree in chemistry and a 1949 graduate of the New York Graduate School of Engineering.
He was a life member of the American Water Works Association, the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection Water Supply Operators, the North Jersey Water conference, and the Packanack Lake Country Club, Wayne.

She was an air raid warden for Wayne during World War II.
