She was a former member of the First Reformed Church of the Palisades, Fort Lee. She was a graduate of Long Island University, where she received a bachelor's degree in English. CARMEN L. POU, 78, of Little Falls died Thursday. She was born in Puerto Rico. She was parishioner of Holy Angels R. C. Church, Little Falls, where she was a member of its CARES and Social Outreach programs. Arrangements: Bizub-Parker Funeral Home, Little Falls.
JOHN P. RILEY, 71, of South Hackensack, formerly of Elmwood Park, died Tuesday. Before retiring, he was a truck driver for Liberty Freight Lines, Lodi. A Navy veteran of World War II, he was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2342, Fort Lee. He was also a member of Teamsters Locals 84 and 478 in New Jersey. MARGARET V. D'ALESSIO SCAFATI, 93, of Wyckoff, formerly of Cedar Grove, died Wednesday. She was a former matron of the Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter 61, Caldwell. She was a member and past president of the Cedar Grove Women's Club. Arrangements: Farmer Funeral Home, Roseland.
FELIX SCIARRA, 89, of Lodi, died Wednesday. Before retiring in 1987, he was owner and operator of Sciarra Painting Co., Lodi, for 50 years, where he was also a painter and decorator. He was also a tax assessor for 11 years. He was a member of the Kiwanis Club, the Tide Organization, the Seniors, AARP, a director of the Boys & Girls Club, and a former member of the Board of Education, all in Lodi. SIMON SILVER, 84, of Fort Lee, formerly of Jersey City, died Wednesday. Before retiring 10 years ago, he was a foreman for Baldwin Steel, Jersey City, for 50 years. He was an Army veteran of World War II. Arrangements: Wien & Wien Funeral Home, Englewood.
