Hinchman, Elizabeth W. “Betty”
(nee Allen) aged 89 years. A lifelong resident of Haddonfield passed away after a brief illness on May 31, 2008, peacefully surrounded by her loving family. Survived by her devoted sons, John A. and Robert C. of Haddonfield. Dear sister, Ethel Ludwigsen of Pennsgrove, NJ and sister-in-law Jeanette Hill of West Chester, PA and a host of friends and nieces and nephews and their families, all who will miss their loving “Aunt Betty.” Predeceased by her beloved husband of 64 years, the late Gilbert M. Hinchman; her son, David G., brother Clement L. Allen and sister Amelia A. Potter. Graduate of H.M.H.S. Class of 1937. Love and kindness surrounded her lifetime of family and friends. A devout Christian woman, she was a member of the First Baptist Church of Haddonfield for over 65 years; where she taught Sunday school, was a former Deaconess and active in women’s groups for many years. She enjoyed cooking for family and friends, gardening, and loved her summers at the shore. Mrs. Hinchman’s family will receive friends, Thursday morning, 11 AM - 12:15 PM at Kain-Murphy Funeral Home, 15 West End. Ave., Haddonfield, NJ. Services will follow at 12:30 PM. Interment private, Haddonfield Baptist Cem. In lieu of flowers, the family requests, memorials in her name may be made to the First Baptist Church, 124 Kings Hwy. East, Haddonfield, NJ 08033.

West, Janice
(nee Walters) On May 31, 2008, age 79, a resident of Cherry Hill for over 50 years and the beloved wife of William A. West, M.D. Mrs. West is the loving mother of William A., Jr. (Kathleen), of Williamstown and Judi McLaskey, of Coco, FL. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren. Mrs. West had been a member of the Women’s Board at Cooper University Medical Center for over 25 years. Her family will receive friends, Wednesday morning from 9:30 – 10:45AM, at Kain-Murphy Funeral Home, 15 West End Ave., Haddonfield. Services will follow at 11AM. Interment Eglington Cemetery, Clarksboro, NJ. Memorial donations in Mrs. West’s name may be made to the Alzheimer’s Assn., 3 Eves Dr., Suite 310, Marlton, NJ 08053.

MOGCK, JOHN J., Jr.
On May 30, 2008, former Camden City Fire Chief, age 86, of Haddonfield, beloved husband of Marion Connie (nee Carroll) and father of John J., III (Jingyan) of Voorhees. Also survived by 1 brother, Thomas (Eleanor) of Haddonfield, 2 sisters, Marie Diefendorf of Audubon and Betty Spinosi (Eli) of Malaga, 1 step-granddaughter, Iris Tian and numerous nieces and nephews. Chief Mogck first attended Holy Name Elementary School and then Camden Catholic HS. His studies at St. Francis College in Loretto, PA were interrupted by his entrance into the European Theatre of WWII. For 3 long years, he saw action as a member of the U.S. Third Army’s 115th Gun Battalion operating in France, Belgium, Germany & Luxembourg. Noted campaigns from the beaches of Normandy to the “Battle of the Bulge” cited him for gallantry. He was awarded 6 battle stars and the Bronze Star. In 1945 Chief Mogck returned to Camden and joined the Fire Department. He moved up through the ranks and in 1982 became the 17th Chief of the Fire Department. Chief Mogck’s family and friends are invited to his Funeral Mass, Wednesday, June 4th, 9:30 AM, at St. Vincent Pallotti R.C. Church, 901 Hopkins Rd., Haddon Twp., NJ. Interment, B.G. Wm. C. Doyle Veterans Mem. Cem., Wrightstown, NJ. In lieu of flowers the family requests, memorial donations may be made in Chief Mogck’s name to Holy Name Catholic Church, 522 State St., Camden, NJ 08102.

OBEE, CLEM J.
After a long illness on May 28, 2008, age 87, a longtime Haddonfield resident, beloved husband of Margaret (nee Nyeste) and brother of the late Henry Obee. Also survived by 3 daughters, Nancy O. (David) Raymond of Haddonfield, Jane O. (William, Esq.) Hamby, Esq. of Glen Mills, PA and Gail M. (Brian) McGinley of Mt. Laurel, 4 grandchildren, Meghan McGinley, Hayley Raymond, and Matthew and Ryan Hamby, 1 sister, Emily Obee and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Obee graduated from Penn State Univ. in 1942 with a B.S. in Architectural Engineering. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII. He began his engineering career at Machine & Tool Design Co. of Philadelphia on assignment to A.V. Roe Aircraft Co. in Toronto, Canada. Then he began a career that spanned more than 30 years working for the federal government at the Philadelphia Naval Yard and later at the Defense Personnel Center. At his retirement he held the position of Supervisor Engineer. He was a member of the Professional Engineers in PA from 1948-1999 and a member of American Legion Post #38 in Haddonfield. Mr. Obee’s family wishes to express their sincere appreciation for all acts of kindness shown during his illness, especially to the doctors, nurses and staff at Silver Care Nursing Home and Lighthouse Hospice. Mr. Obee’s family will receive friends on Wednesday Evening, June 4th, 7-9 PM, at Kain-Murphy Funeral Services, 15 West End. Ave., Haddonfield, NJ 08033. All are invited to his Funeral Mass on Thursday Morning, June 5th, 10:30 AM, Christ the King R.C. Church, 200 Windsor Ave., Haddonfield, NJ. Interment, Haddonfield Baptist Cem. REXON, THOMAS J.
On May 26, 2008, age 81, a lifelong resident of Haddonfield, NJ, beloved husband of Barbara (nee Clement) and loving father of Elizabeth (Trevor) Orthmann of Haddonfield. Also survived by his sister, Dorothy Laib of Port St. Lucie, FL and his nephew, Stuart (Grace) Rexon of Pine Hill, NJ. Mr. Rexon served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and the Korean Conflict. He had a career in education teaching Social Studies at Haddonfield Middle School for 29 years. Additionally, he had been a longtime board member at Wedgewood Swim Club in Haddonfield. Mr. Rexon’s family will receive friends on Saturday, 9:30-10:45 AM, at Kain-Murphy Funeral Services, 15 West End Ave., Haddonfield. His Service will follow at 11 AM. Interment private. Memorial donations may be made in Mr. Rexon’s name to Our Lady of Lourdes Health Foundation, 1600 Haddon Ave., Camden, NJ 08103.

Reintzel, Kurt W.
On May 22, 2008, age 32, of Haddonfield, beloved son of Warren A. & Susan (nee Rodgers) of Haddonfield. Also survived by his sister, Lisa S. Pendarvis (Robert) of Haddon Twp., his grandfather, Warren H. Reintzel of Haddonfield, 2 aunts, Bonnie Juda (Dennis) of Philadelphia, PA and Barbara Kent (Joseph) of Rio Grande, NJ, many cousins and his godfather, Benjamin Jones of London, England. Kurt is a graduate of Haddonfield Memorial HS and the University of Delaware. His family will receive friends on Wed., May 28th, 9:30-10:45 AM, at the Lutheran Church of Our Savior, Wood La. & Wayne Ave., Haddonfield, NJ. His Service will follow at 11 AM. Interment, private. The family requests in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made in Kurt’s name to American Diabetes Association, 150 Monument Road, Suite 100, Bala Cynwyd, PA 19004.

Rhoads, Robert R.
Age 82, of Richmond, died on Monday, Jan. 28, 2008. Born Dec. 8, 1925, in Haddonfield, N.J., to Evan L. and Anna M. Rockhill Rhoads. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving in W.W. II and the Korean Conflict. Robert was former owner/operator of Gateway Builders, Inc. Robert was a member of American Legion Post 65 and former member of Richmond Elks Lodge 649 and the Rotary Club. Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth D. (Betty) Rhoads, to whom he was married Jan. 30, 1960; daughters, Elizabeth Ann (Libby) Rhoads of Johnson City, Tenn., and Laurie Diane Rhoads of Arlington, Texas; brother, E. Lawrie Rhoads of Medfield, Mass.; one granddaughter; two nieces and one nephew. He was preceded in death by his parents. A church service was held in Feb. in Richmond, IN. Family and friends are invited to the Graveside service for Robert R. Rhoads on Friday, May 30, 2008, 11 AM, at Harleigh Cemetery, 1640 Haddon Ave., Camden, NJ, with Pastor Bill Getman officiating. Memorial contributions: Reid Memorial Presbyterian Church, 1004 North A St., Richmond, IN 47374, or Wayne County Historical Museum, 1150 North A St., Richmond, IN 47374.
