Alvin H. Frankel
Alvin H. Frankel, age 88, died on July 26, 2007. Beloved husband of the late Mildred L. (née Battisfore), Mr. Frankel is survived by his son David A. Frankel, daughter Faye J. Gibson and her husband Robert, two granddaughters, Sarah L. Gibson and Anna A. Gibson, and a sister, Rhoda Lenet.
Mr. Frankel was born in Philadelphia, grew up in Atlantic City, and was a graduate of Temple University (1941) and Temple University Law School (1946). His law school career was interrupted by service in WWII. From 1943 to 1946, he served in the U.S. Army Airways Communication Service, attaining the rank of Master Sergeant. During his time in the Army, he was stationed in Casablanca, New Delhi, Calcutta, the Philippines, and Japan.
After graduation from Temple Law School in 1946, Mr. Frankel worked for a firm in Philadelphia, following which he opened a private practice. He was a member of the Pennsylvania Bar for 61 years. In the 1980s, he moved his practice to Collingswood, NJ. He was still practicing law full time at the time of his death.
Mr. Frankel lived in Haddon Township for 20 years before moving to Haddonfield in 1969. In Haddon Township, Mr. Frankel served as Chairman of the Zoning Board, the Civic Association, and the Juvenile Conference Committee. He was a manager for Little League and Babe Ruth teams, and a leader for a local Cub Scout Pack. He was active in Haddonfield associations and community events.
Mr. Frankel was a 33rd degree Mason and a member of Henry S. Haines Lodge #253 F & A.M. He was a past District Deputy Grand Master for the 29th Masonic District in the State of New Jersey. With his wife, Mildred, he traveled the world visiting many Masonic Lodges where he was made an honorary member.
Mr. Frankel’s family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Kain-Murphy Funeral Home, 15 West End Ave., Haddonfield, NJ. There will be a Masonic Service at 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will occur Thursday morning at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by interment at Lakeview Memorial Park, Cinnaminson.

Marro, Claire Ann
(nee Buschner) On July 21, 2007, age 73, of Winslow Twp., beloved wife of Joseph Anthony Marro. Mrs. Marro is also survived by 2 grandsons, Kevin D. Garwood, Jr, of Berlin and Joshua David Nieman, of Cape May and 1 brother, Robert Buschner, of Plano, TX. KOONTZ, Robert C. Jr
Robert C. (“Poppy”) Koontz Jr, a resident of Haddonfield, died on July 18, 2007, aged 72.Survivors: wife, Barbara (nee Neill); daughter, Jody Cortellessa (John) of Cherry Hill; sons Michael N. (Jennifer) and Robert C. III (Kristen), both of Haddonfield; 6 grandchildren; mother, Mrs. Edna Koontz of Hanover PA; brothers, Kenneth, Edward and James; sisters, Joan Rebert, Judy Kuhns, and Jane Williams.
Mr. Koontz was a graduate of Littlestown High School (Pennsylvania), where he earned varsity letters in football, basketball and baseball and was senior class president. He was also a graduate of Dickinson College, where he met his wife, Barbara, and played varsity football and baseball.
Mr. Koontz was a veteran of the US Army’s Guided Missile Program at Ft. Bliss in El Paso TX.
In 1963, he joined his brother-in-law, Fred Binder, to continue a successful family printing business, Graphic Arts Inc., which is operated today by the family’s third generation. In 1982, the Junior Executives Club of the Graphic Arts honored him as their “Man of the Year”.
Mr. Koontz retired in 1999. He enjoyed his retirement in Ocean City, Mount Dora FL, and Haddonfield. “Poppy” was a member of Tavistock Country Club since 1965 and was an avid golfer. He was a past Senior Club Champion and a former board member.

(nee Rouh) On July 8, 2007, age 60, of Maple Shade, NJ, formerly of Haddonfield, mother of Kara Brittain (James) and beloved daughter of Dorothy E. Rouh, of Haddonfield. Also survived by 2 grandchildren, Justin and Ryan Brittain, and 2 brothers, Edwin H. Rouh, Jr., of Medford Lakes and Kenneth J. Rouh, of Jacksonville, FL.
