On April 12, 2007, age 73, a longtime Haddonfield resident and beloved husband of Dayna (nee DeShong) for 54 years. Also survived by 4 children, Dea Hansen (Charles) of Oak Harbor, WA, Duane Clark (Colleen) of Medford Lakes, NJ, Kenneth Clark of Waterford Works, NJ and Jennifer Torok (Derek) of Winslow Twp., NJ and 5 grandchildren, Brenna, John, Kali, Kaitlyn and Joseph Matthew. Mr. Clark worked for Texaco in Westville which was purchased by Coastal as a pipe fitter for 44 years. Additionally, he was a wonderful neighbor and an avid gardener. Mr. Clark’s family will receive friends on Tuesday from 10-10:45 AM, in the Sanctuary of the FirstBaptist Church of Haddonfield, 124 E. Kings Hwy., Haddonfield, NJ 08033; where his Service will follow at 11 AM. Interment, Haddonfield Baptist Cemetery. SMART, PHYLLIS
(nee Deitch) On April 12, 2007, age 62, of Cherry Hill. Phyllis is survived by her son, Philip Smart (Julie), of Haddonfield, her daughters, Jackie Galaida (Rob), of Mt. Laurel and Carolyn Smart, of Merchantville, her brother, Joe Deitch, of Horsham, PA, her sisters, Marge Krzeminski, of Cherry Hill and Patti Deitch, of Glenside, PA and 5 grandchildren, Matthew, Meghan and Emily Smart and Michael and Nicholas Galaida. Phyllis' family will receive friends Tuesday morning from 9:30- 10:45 AM at Kain-Murphy Funeral Home, 15 West End Ave., Haddonfield,NJ. Her Memorial Service will follow at 11AM. Interment, private. Phyllis will be greatly missed by friends and family. The joy and laughter that she brought to our lives will remain in our hearts forever. NEISWENDER, Dr. DAVID D., Jr.
On April 1, 2007, age 76, of Cherry Hill, and beloved husband of Janet B. (nee Faus). Also survived by his mother, Grace (Nee Keller) Neiswender of Palmyra, NJ, his son, Karl D. (Jenifer) of Mullica Hill, his daughter, Karen J. Kongsmai (Prapap) of Glendale, Queens, NY, 2 grandchildren, Evan & Max Neiswender and 1 brother, the Rev. Donald (Jan) of Brighton, MI. Dr. Neiswender was a research chemist at Mobil Oil Research & Development in Princeton and Paulsboro, NJ for 33 years. He participated in the commercialization of Mobil 1, the first synthetic motor oil. Additionally he was a longtime member of the Haddonfield United Methodist Church, where he served on many boards and committees including the recent Building Committee. Dr. Neiswender’s family will receive friends on Thursday, from 10-11:45 AM in Felten Parlor at the Haddonfield United Methodist Church, 19 Warwick Rd., Haddonfield, NJ 08033. His Memorial Service will follow at 12 Noon in the Sanctuary. Interment, private. (nee Martinelli) On March 30, 2007, age 92, of Bellmawr and the beloved wife of the late Augustine R. (Tut) Scappa. Loving mother of Dominic of Bellmawr and Joseph (Mim) of Mt. Laurel and adoring grandmother of Michael, Amanda and Nicholas Scappa. She is also survived by her brother-in-law Vincent (Christine) and many nieces, nephews and friends. Services are private. KASE, ALCYE
(nee Hitchner) Died on March 27, 2007, age 100, of Mantua, formerly a longtime resident of Haddonfield and wife of the late Dr. William A. Kase. She is survived by many loving nieces and nephews and her brother, William Hitchner of Mullica Hill. Mrs. Kase began her teaching career at the age of 17. Her 52 years of teaching took her from teaching assignments beginning in Port Norris, Blackwood Terrace, Swedesboro and then Pennsauken at Collins Tract School for 27 years. She was a longstanding member of the NJ Teacher’s Association. Additionally, she volunteered many hours in the West Jersey Hospital Thrift Shop. Mrs. Kase’s family will receive friends on Monday after 10 AM at Kain-Murphy Funeral Services, 15 West End Ave., Haddonfield. Her Service will follow at 11 AM. Interment, Haddonfield Baptist Cemetery. Mrs. Kase may be honored by making a memorial contribution to the First Baptist Church of Haddonfield, 124 E. Kings Hwy., Haddonfield, NJ 08033; where she was a member for over 50 years.
Roney, George W.
On March 27, 2007, age 80, of Cherry Hill and Delray Beach, FL, formerly a 48 year resident of Haddonfield and the beloved husband of Ruth (nee Lees). He is survived by his daughter, Karen Roney (Jeff Kerr), of Natick, MA and his brother, James N. of Jupiter, FL. Mr. Roney was a founder of Roney, Vermaat & Leonard, real estate company in Haddonfield. He was also a long time member of the Grace Episcopal Church in Haddonfield and Tavistock CC. He was a graduate of Collingswood High and a past President of the Haddonfield Lions Club. Mr. Roney's family will receive friends Saturday morning after 10:30AM, at Grace Episcopal Church, 19 E. On March 20, 2007, age 56, of Downingtown, PA, formerly of Harrisburg, PA and Haddonfield, NJ and the beloved husband of the late Karen (nee Sheldon). Michael is survived by his parents, James and Mary Jane, 2 brothers, Stephen and David and his sister, Ann, all of Harrisburg. Mr. Muro served the healthcare industry for over 38-years including a successful sales career in pharmaceutical clinical trials over the past 21 years.
