WOOD, ALFRED J.
On Saturday, December 30, 2006, age 88, a resident of Haddonfield since 1952 and husband of the late Virginia H. (nee Holmead). Mr. Wood was born April 15, 1918 in Bryn Mawr, Pa., graduated from West Catholic High School, 1936; graduated with a A&S Degree in Industrial Engineering from Villanova College in 1940. He is survived by his 4 children, Alison Wood Eckis,(Rick) of Richmond, VA, A.J. Christopher, III,(Ann) of Plantation, Florida, John Holmead Wood,(Mary) of Paoli, PA and Marcia Kay Hunter,(Peter) of Morristown, NJ and 9 grandchildren. Mr. Wood served for over 37 years in the US Air Force, including flying multiple missions (>100) from 1942 to 1945 in the Asia Pacific front, flying over the Hump Burma/China.. He was promoted from Captain to Major to Colonel, to Brigadier General and finally to Major General in 1970, and retired in 1978. He worked with his brother John, at Alden Supply Co., selling industrial tools to companies including the US Navel Yard in Philadelphia. He was a long time member of Christ the King Church and Tavistock Country Club including the 65- Old Goats’ Club. Mr. Wood’s family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 3rd for a Prayer Service at 6:30 PM and Viewing from 7-9 PM at Kain-Murphy Funeral Services, 15 West End Ave., Haddonfield. HINELINE, RICHARD HAINES
On Dec. 24, 2006, age 82, a 57 year resident of Haddonfield, Past President of Camden Lime Company, Camden and Atlas Building Systems, Voorhees and beloved husband of the late Esther (nee Minot). Father of Richard H., Jr. and his wife Sandra D., of Bluffton, SC, David M. and his wife Cynthia, of Mays Landing and Susan H. Donaldson and her husband Robert P., of Shamong. Also survived by 6 grandchildren, Christine & Steven Donaldson, Jeffrey & Courtney Hineline and Robert & Justin Pincus, 1 brother F. Budd Hineline, Jr., of Philadelphia and 1 sister, Judith H. Johnson of St. Louis, MO. Dick was an Army veteran of WWII, in which he served with the 20th Armored Div. in the European Theater. He served on the Board of Directors at Smith-Austermuhl Company and Fessenden Hall, Inc. Additionally, he had been President of the Flexicore Manufacturers Assoc. and was the First Chairman of the Camden County Cultural & Heritage Commission. He was a member of the Camden Rotary Club, Tavistock Country Club and was a 33rd degree Mason, who belonged to several local lodges. A lifelong sportsman, he was Secretary-Treasurer of the Atlantic County Game Preserve. Family and friends are invited to Mr. Hineline’s Service, Thursday, 2 PM, Grace Episcopal Church, 19 E. Kings Hwy., Haddonfield, NJ 08033; where the family will receive friends following the service. Roney, Ruth
(nee Lees) On December 22, 2006, age 80, of Cherry Hill and Delray Beach, FL, formerly a 45 year resident of Haddonfield and the beloved wife of George W. Roney for over 58 years. She is also survived by her daughter, Karen Roney (Jeff Kerr), of Natick, MA and her sister, Margaret Mawson, of Delray Beach, FL. Mrs. Roney was a “Colls – Class of 44”. She was also a long time member of the Haddonfield Garden Club, Grace Episcopal Church in Haddonfield, the Women’s Board of Cooper Hospital and Tavistock CC. Mrs. Roney’s family will receive friends Thursday morning after 10:30AM, at Grace Episcopal Church, 19 E. Kings Hwy., Haddonfield, NJ 08033. Her Memorial Service will follow at 11AM. EDDLEMAN, DOROTHY MARIE
(nee Stevens) On Dec. 14, 2006, age 89, of Ocean City, NJ & Ellenton, FL, formerly a 50-year resident of Haddonfield and beloved wife of 68 years to William A., Sr. Loving mother of Eileen McSparran (James) of Mt. Laurel and William A., Jr. (Rosemarie, deceased), of Cherry Hill; devoted grandmother of Nancy Carpenter (Gary) of Haddonfield, Christine Laspata (John) of Williamstown, Jennifer Eddleman of Cherry Hill, Stefanie Eddleman of Cherry Hill, and Stacie Leatherwood (Clinton) of Pitman; great-grandmother of Emma and Olivia; and sister of Frances Nolder (Ernest) of Parrish, FL. She was pre-deceased by her brother James Stevens. Mrs. Eddleman graduated from Haddonfield Memorial HS in 1936. She was the executive assistant for the owner at Precision Parts, now Precision Automation, in Cherry Hill for over 30 years. Mrs. Eddleman’s family will receive friends on Wednesday Evening from 7 – 8:30 PM at Kain-Murphy Funeral Services, 15 West End Ave., Haddonfield. Her Mass of Christian Burial will follow on Thursday Morning, 10 AM, at Christ the King R.C. Church, 200 Windsor Ave., Haddonfield.
