Harris, Walter, A.
On May 5, 2006, age 88, a Haddonfield resident for over 63 years and beloved husband of Mary Edna (nee Tilbury). Mr. Harris is also survived by his son, David W. and his wife, Anna, of Carrollton, GA, 2 granddaughters, Carrie and Katie and a brother, Holton E., of Westport, CT. Mr. Harris was a Satellite Communications Engineer for RCA for over 42 years. During that time, he was the Chief Testing Engineer for the design team for the radio and television communications for all of the Apollo Lunar Missions. It also should be noted that Mr. Harris is the grandson of Nathaniel E. Harris, the founder of Georgia Institute of Technology and a former Governor of the State of Georgia. Additionally, he was a member of the Haddonfield 65 Club. Family and friends are invited to Mr. Harris’ Memorial Service, Tuesday morning, 11AM, at Kain-Murphy Funeral Services, West End Ave. at Kings Hwy., Haddonfield. His family will receive friends immediately following the service. Interment private. Nylin, Ingrid
On April 29, 2005, age 89, of Cadbury in Cherry Hill. Miss Nylin is survived by 2 friends, Marsha Beidler and Christine O’Donnell. Friends are invited to her Memorial Service, Friday, 3 PM at Kain-Murphy Funeral Services, 15 West End Ave., Haddonfield, NJ. Interment private.
LeBlanc, Eugene G.
On April 18, 2006, Eugene Gene LeBlanc went home to be with the Lord. He was 66 years old. He was a resident of both Haddonfield and Ocean City, NJ for more than 30 years. He was a graduate of the Taft School in Watertown, CT, Hobart College in Geneva, NY and received an Honorable Discharge from the US Air Force.
As a young man he enjoyed and participated in all types of sports. His love for playing ice hockey eventually led to an offer to be the goalie for a semi-professional ice hockey team-which he did not accept.
After working in the packaging industry for many years, he spent 23 years as president of his own company Janus Industries, Inc. For the past few years, he was employed as a salesperson for Prudential Fox & Roach Realtors in their Haddonfield office. He held a NJ substitute teacher certificate which enabled him to teach Spanish to children and adults.
He was a member of the Haddonfield United Methodist Church serving in many capacities including being a Lay Leader for four years. He also served as Mens Division Chairperson on the Haddonfield Council of Churches planning board. Additionally, he had served as the initiator and chairman of the National Day of Prayer event in Haddonfield for the past four years. He also initiated, sponsored and conducted an interdenominational series of 20 programs called The Spiritual Renewal Series held at the Haddonfield United Methodist Church in the late eighties. He served as a counselor with the 1992 Philadelphia Billy Graham Crusade. He was also on the founding Board of Trustees of Urban Promise, Camden, for several years and was currently serving as a Trustee of E.A.P.E. International which are both Tony Campolo ministries. Recently, he was asked to serve on the Board of Trustees of Ranch Hope for Boys, a ministry located in Alloway, NJ.
He was a member of the Republican Club, Tavistock Country Club, a past chairman of the Haddonfield Assembly, and a member of the Crescent Temple.
In Ocean City, Gene was an active trustee of the Ocean City Tabernacle for nearly 25 years. He was on the founding board of trustees and a past Chairman of the Board of the Ocean City Pops Orchestra and was currently serving on their Advisory Board. He was a member of the Ocean City Yacht Club.
Gene is survived by his wife, Lois, of 37 years, a sister, Ms Georgina Meredith, of Tampa, FL, and several nieces and nephews. Services were held privately. Memorial donations in Genes name may be made to any of the above named ministries.
Mary Stuart Fisher, MD
Of Haddonfield, NJ on April 24, 2006. Wife of George Ross Fisher III, MD and mother of George Ross Fisher IV, Miriam Fisher Schaefer, Margaret Fisher, and Stuart Fisher. Also survived by eight grandchildren and one great-grandson. Memorial service to be held Saturday, May 13, at 2 PM at Haddonfield (NJ) Friends Meeting. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Doctors Without Borders or Haddonfield (NJ) Friends School.

KURTZ, VIRGINIA R. “Ginny”
(nee Naylor) On April 24, 2006, of Haddon Twp., wife of the late James, and beloved sister of Karen Haswell, of Cherry Hill, Patricia Shapleigh of Haddon Heights, Madelin Lee of Haddonfield and Diana Riley of Haddon Heights. Also survived by 13 nieces and nephews and her dogs Brownie and Blackie. Ginny was graduate of Haddonfield Memorial HS and in 1998 was inducted into its Athletic Hall of Fame. Additionally, she served as a U.S. Army Sergeant from 1962-1965. Ginny’s family will receive friends on Saturday Morning, 9:45-10:45 AM, at Kain-Murphy Funeral Services, 15 West End Ave., Haddonfield; where her Service will follow at 11 AM. Interment, Locustwood Cem., Cherry Hill, NJ. RAIRDON, SARAH E. “Sally”
On April 22, 2006, age 96, of Voorhees, formerly a longtime resident of Cherry Hill, wife of the late James O and mother of the late Sandra Weiss. Survived by her son Jay O. Rairdon of Sicklerville, 3 granddaughters, Wendy W. Gault of Haddonfield, Dawn D. Weiss of Marlton and Jill A. Palacki of Haddonfield, 4 great grandchildren, Taylor, Hunter, Hayley & Elaina and her dear niece B.J. Monahon of Carneys Point. Mrs. Rairdon’s family and friends are invited to her Graveside Service, Thursday, 11:30 AM, at Harleigh Cemetery, 1640 Haddon Ave., Camden, NJ.
SCHWARTZ, RICHARD W.
On April 15, 2006, age 77, beloved husband of Doris Irene (nee Kelly). Richard is survived by his 2 loving daughters, Barbara Joan (David) Ayers of Euless, Texas and Teri Irene (Michael) Layer of Marietta, Georgia, his 3 cherished grandchildren, Jonathan M. Layer, Jennifer I. Layer and Richard A. Watts and his 2 devoted brothers, Walter William (Dorothy) Schwartz, Jr. of Collingswood, NJ and Paul Wendell (Sherry) Schwartz of Malaga, NJ. He is preceded in death by his parents, Pauline A. (Vernier) Schwartz and Walter William Schwartz, Sr. and by his brother Robert Paul Schwartz.
Richard was born in Camden, NJ on May 30, 1928 and was raised in the Old Woodcrest (Ashland) section of Delaware Township (now Cherry Hill). He served in the US Coast Guard from February 1946 - April 1947. Richard worked for the Pennsylvania-Reading Seashore Lines (now Conrail) as a Lineman/Signal Maintainer/Supervisor from March 1950 until his retirement in June of 1989. Richard married Doris, his wife of 54 years in October of 1951 and they have lived in their home in Kingsway Village since June 1952. He will be remembered for his strength, his integrity, his devotion to family and his wonderful sense of humor.
Richard’s family will receive friends on Saturday April 22, 2006 at 11am, at Kain-Murphy Funeral Services, 15 West End Avenue, Haddonfield. There will be a short Service following at 12:00 noon. Interment will be private.
