(nee Kukuruza) On April 5, 2008, age 86, of Cadbury, Cherry Hill, formerly of Broomall, PA and wife of the late Anthony P. Survived by her daughters, Carol A. Gercke (John) of Haddonfield and Stephanie K. Karpell (David) of Dobbs Ferry, NY, 6 grandchildren, Julie Yunaska (Doug), Francis Gercke (Kristianne), Anne Marie Gercke, Christopher Gercke, Katherine Karpell and Carolee Karpell and 4 great grandchildren, Katelyn, Jonah, Jack and Jayne. JANICE M. BRANIN
(nee MESSICK) Born: 8/06/30 Died: 4/01/08 Daughter of the late Frank and Theresa Messick of Clarksboro, NJ. Janice is survived by her husband Lorain H., Two sons, Kurt C. of Orlando FL, and James C. of Blackwood, Two granddaughters, Elizabeth and Natalie Branin of Haddonfield, One brother Lawrence (Blanche) of Rehobeth Beach, DE. Janice graduated from Swedesboro High School in 1948, where she was Co-Captain of the field hockey team. She also graduated from the Camden Commercial Business School. Janice married 12/26/59. She enjoyed bowling, gardening, vacationing at the NJ seashore, Rehoboth Beach, DE, and the Outer Banks of NC, where she enjoyed surf fishing, swimming, and sun bathing. She also enjoyed visiting relatives in Florida, Alabama, Mississippi over the years. She was a member of HUMC for many years. She also served as president of the League to Aid Retarded Citizens (LARCS), and was a member of the MS Society. She battled valiantly for twenty years against this dreadful disease. Contributions in her memory may be made to the HUMC building fund for the church at 29 Warwick Road, Haddonfield, NJ, 08033-3727. She will be sorely missed by family and friends. Viewing hours will be on Sunday, April 6th, 6-8 PM at Kain-Murphy Funeral Services, 15 West End Avenue, Haddonfield, NJ. Mrs. Branin’s Funeral Service will follow.

(nee Price) On April 1, 2008, age 96, of Moorestown, formerly a longtime resident of Haddonfield, wife of the late Nils G. and mother of the late Wallace P. Survived by her son, Nils G., Jr., M.D. (Patricia) of Haddonfield, 6 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Mrs. Herdelin’s family and friends are invited to her Memorial Service, Saturday, 11 AM, at Grace Episcopal Church, 19 E. Kings Hwy., Haddonfield. Interment in the Church’s Memorial garden. KNAPP, PAUL J.
On March 20, 2008, age 45, formerly of Haddonfield, graduate of Haddonfield Memorial HS, Class of 1981 and beloved son of Elizabeth (nee King) and James Knapp of Haddon Twp. Also survived by his sister Deborah Knapp and brother-in-law, Joseph Realdine, of HI, his former wife Lisa (nee Pileggi) and 3 children, Lindsey, James J. "J.J." and Michael, all of St. Petersburg, FL. Paul's family will receive friends on Saturday, April 12th, after 1 PM in Felten Parlor at the Haddonfield United Methodist Church, 29 Warwick Rd., Haddonfield, NJ. Palo, Leon J. “Professor”
On March 19, 2008, age 77, of Haddon Twp., formerly a longtime Haddonfield resident and the beloved husband of Ellen Jane "EJ" (nee Tuck). Loving father of Leon J., Jr. "Lee" (Julann), of Haddon Twp., Francis J., of Haddonfield, Margaret Ann Martinez (Dan), of Haddon Heights and Michael V., of Haddon Twp. Also survived by 6 grandchildren, Leah, Hannah, Joseph, Annaleise, Olivia and Genevieve Palo, and 1 brother, Vincent.
Mr. Palo graduated from LaSalle HS, in Philadelphia, Glassboro State College and received a Masters of Mathematics from Rutgers Univ. He served in the U.S. Navy for 4 years during the Korean War. He was an educator in the Lenape School district (Cherokee HS) for over 30 years and a Professor of Mathematics at Rutgers Univ. for 23 years.
Additionally, Mr. Palo was active in his community and enjoyed vacationing in Ocean City, NJ with his family. He started the Soccer Program at Shawnee HS with a first League Championship in 1973 and coached Little League in Haddonfield for the Haddon Fire Co. In the early years at St. Vincent Pallotti Parish, he was an active member of the Men's Club.
Mr. Palo's family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the physicians and nursing staff of the Medical/Surgical ICU at Cooper University Hospital.
Mr. Palo's family will receive friends, Tuesday morning, April 1st, from 9-10:45AM at the Church of St. Vincent Pallotti, 901 Hopkins Rd., Haddon Twp. His Funeral Mass will follow promptly at 11 AM. Interment, Calvary Cem., Cherry Hill , NJ. The family requests in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to Cooper Univ. PEAK, MARGUERITE V.
(nee Sporer) On March 19, 2008, age 83, of Haddonfield. Beloved wife of Alfred C. and loving mother and mother-in-law of Sandra Lynne and Hoag Levins of Haddonfield.
A quiet woman of great strength, Marguerite rejoiced in family and was loyal to friends. She was a true Renaissance woman. From creating a warm, welcoming home and gardens that were the envy of her neighbors to mastering the needlework arts of crewel embroidery, needlepoint and quilting, Marguerite excelled in everything she did.
To honor her lifelong love of animals, the family asks that, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made in Mrs. Peak's name to the Animal Welfare Association, 509 Centennial Blvd., Voorhees, NJ 08043.
