HILLMAN, OSCAR D., Jr.
On Feb. 12, 2008, age 90, of Southampton, formerly a resident of Cherry Hill for 82 years, owner/operator of Hillman Bus Service and father of the late James A. He is survived by his wife Jean M. (nee Nearhoof), his son Richard O. (Joann) of Gibbsboro and his daughter Patricia J. (Matthew) Crowley, both of Gibbsboro, his daughter-in-law, Dianne Hillman of Southampton and 6 grandchildren, Debbie & Katie Hillman, Daniel & Lori Hillman and Steven & Brian Crowley. Mr. Hillman was a member of the Haddon Grange #38 for over 75 years and a member of the Ashland Evangelical Presbyterian Church. Mr. Hillman’s family will receive friends on Saturday, 9-10:45, at Kain-Murphy Funeral Services, 15 West End Ave., Haddonfield; where his Service will follow at 11 AM. LOW, WILLIAM F.
On Feb. 11, 2008, age 77, of Voorhees, husband of the late Susan (nee Armstrong) and father of Stewart A. W. Low (Barbara) of Doylestown, PA. Bill Low spent his professional life in banking where he always tried to do what was best for the community. His life long interest in fitness led him to be completing 50 mile bike rides as a 76 year old while his neighbors looked on from the porch. He spent his spiritual life always looking for Christian Truth. In his last illness his basic faith in Christ has been an inspiration to those around him. Mr. Low's family would like to thank the numerous health care professionals who cared for him in his final months, especially the nurses of Virtua Marlton 3rd floor who came to know him as "their honey". Mr. Low's family will receive friends Friday morning from 9-10 AM, at St. Gregory's Church, 340 E. Evesham Ave., Magnolia, NJ; where his Funeral Mass will follow at 10:15 AM. MARSHBANK, ROBERT W.
On Feb. 1, 2008, age 79, of Haddonfield and husband of the late Catherine M. (nee Kempf). Survived by 4 daughters, Susan (John) Radgoski of Voorhees, Barbara (Michael) Bailey of Pennsauken, Cathy (Ralph) Cuthbert of Haddon Hts., and Ginny (David) Giberson of Moorestown, 1 son, Scott (Margie) Marshbank of Winslow Twp., 13 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Mr. Marshbank’s family and friends are invited to a gathering on Tuesday, 3-4 PM at Kain-Murphy Funeral Services, 15 West End Ave., Haddonfield, NJ. (nee PETERS) formerly of Haddonfield on January 25, 2008. Beloved wife of the late Michael Yatches and John A. Schroeder. Mother of Carol Lynn (Schroeder) Mandle and Robert J. Mandle of Lexington, MA; and grandmother of Elizabeth A. Mandle; David R. Mandle and his girlfriend Dara R. Friedman; Jonathan R. and Stephanie McCarthy Mandle. Mother of Michele K. (Yatches) Donaway and John Donaway with whom Carolyn lived in Haddon Township; and grandmother of Patrick D. Ehret and Kevin M. Ehret. Also, their faithful companion, "PACO". Sister of Walda (Schroeder) Crossley of Haddon Township, formerly of Audubon. Cherished friend of many, many people, especially Matilda (Tillie) Myers and Jean (Myers) Buss of Glassboro, formerly of Haddonfield.
Carolyn was the first female police dispatcher for the Haddonfield Police Department, a position she held for 14 years. Through-out her life she very generously gave volunteer leadership to many community organizations, especially being Elder, Deacon, President of Open Ring, church school teacher, choir assistant...in her church. Chairperson of the Haddonfield Blood Bank, American Red Cross; Girl Scout Leader; and Member of Camden County Juvenile Conference Committee, Interfaith Caregivers and Auxiliaries of Virtua (West Jersey Hospital) and Haddonfield Fire Dept; as well as being an avid football fan.
Burial will be private. Family and friends are invited to a memorial service celebrating Carolyn’s life: Saturday, February 2, 2008 at 1:00 in the First Presbyterian Church, 20 Kings Highway East, Haddonfield, NJ 08033. The family will receive friends following the service in the church’s parlor. In lieu of flowers please send contributions in Carolyn’s name to the First Presbyterian Church of Haddonfield.

On January 23, 2008, age 51, of Cherry Hill, formerly of Haddonfield, loving father of Kathryn J. Hallowell (John Michael Dye), of Cherry Hill, Megan S. Hallowell, also of Cherry Hill and loving grandfather of John Konner Dye. Also survived by his mother, Beverly J. and stepfather George B. Harris, of Hinesville, GA, father, Earle B. Hallowell, 2 sisters, Karen L. Certo, of Pine Hill, Nancy L. Proctor, of Lakehurst and brother, Barry A. Hallowell, of Guyton, GA. Mr. Hallowell’s family will receive friends, Tuesday morning from 10- 11:15AM at the Lutheran Church of Our Savior, Wood Lane and Wayne Ave., Haddonfield. His Memorial Service will follow at 11:30AM. Gercke, Frank J.
On January 17, 2008, age 103, of Cherry Hill, formerly of Philadelphia, beloved husband of the late Anne M. (nee Cosgrove). Mr. Gercke is survived by 5 daughters, Nancy Fischer, of Warminster, PA, Madeleine Costigan, of Phila., Regina McConnell, of Wall, NJ, Patricia Brennan, of Drexel Hill, PA, and Frances Carey, of Haddonfield, 1 son, John R. Gercke, of Haddonfield, 23 grandchildren and 36 great grandchildren. Mr. Gercke’s family will receive friends Wednesday morning after 9:30AM at Christ the King Catholic Church, 200 Windsor Ave., Haddonfield, NJ. His Funeral Mass will follow at 10:30AM. RUSSO, JOSEPH ANTHONY
On January 12, 2008, age 97. Mr. Russo was a long time resident of Haddonfield, NJ and Seaview Harbor, Longport, NJ. He was the beloved husband of Irene (nee Mazzilli) for 66 years and loving father of Angela Russo Melzi of Haddonfield. He will be sadly missed by his grandchildren, Anthony, Stephanie and Gabrielle. He is also survived by close relatives, Roland and Ida Mazzilli of Somerdale, NJ and Elvera Tortu of Cinnaminson, NJ and many devoted nieces and nephews.
Mr. Russo was born in Philadelphia, Pa., and served as a master plumber. He was a member of Camden Local 322 for over 55 years. Mr. Russo also partnered with his wife, Irene, in the Interior Design business.
Relatives and friends are invited to the visitation on Thursday, January 17th beginning at 6:30 PM at St. Rose of Lima Roman Catholic Church, Kings Highway & 4th Ave., Haddon Heights, NJ 08035 with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 8PM at St. Rose R.C. Church. A final blessing will be held Friday morning 11AM also at St. Rose R.C. Church with Interment to follow at Calvary Cemetery, Cherry Hill, NJ.
