MERVINE, Frances H.
Frances Hawley Mervine, (nee Miles), a resident of Haddonfield for over 50 years and more recently a resident at The Evergreens in Moorestown, died on May 16, 2007, aged 90. She was the widow of Thomas Burritt Mervine.
Mrs. Mervine grew up in Milton PA, the daughter of Oscar and Angeline Miles. She was a graduate of Bucknell University, where she was a member of Pi Beta Phi fraternity for women.
Following her marriage in 1941, she became active in “Doctors’ Wives” groups, including the Barton Committee at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia and Underwood Memorial Hospital in Woodbury.
She was an active member of the Haddon Fortnightly, the Haddonfield Assembly, Tavistock Country Club, the Union League of Philadelphia, and the Haddonfield United Methodist Church. She was known for her fashionable attire, up-to-the minute home décor, love of travel, and her enjoyment of ballroom dancing with her husband.
Survivors: son, Thomas B. Jr. (Deborah) of Haddonfield; daughters, Anne Mervine Engelhardt (Peter) of Summit, and Lina Mervine Bales of Ponte Vedra FL; 6 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
Family Visitation: 11am on Monday, May 21, in the chapel of the Evergreens, 309 Bridgeboro Road, Moorestown.

JUDSON, G. Vernon Jr
G. Vernon Judson Jr, of Lancaster PA, formerly of Haddonfield, died on May 12, 2007, aged 93. He was the husband of Catherine S. (nee Ritchie).
Survivors: sons, James N. (Charlotte) of Milaca MN and G. Thomas (Penny) of Burnsville MN; 5 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
Dr. Judson graduated from Haddon Heights High School in 1930, the University of Pennsylvania in 1934, and Thomas Jefferson University in 1938. He was a family practitioner in Barrington from 1938 to 1942.
During World War II, he joined the US Army Air Corps and served as a flight surgeon in the South Pacific from 1942 to 1946. Subsequently he was promoted to Major.
Dr. Judson practiced family medicine in South Jersey area, retiring in 1985.
Family Visitation: Saturday, May 19 after 10am at the Kain-Murphy Funeral Services, 15 West End Avenue, Haddonfield NJ.

McLENIGAN, Mary
Mary McLenigan (nee Connelly), a resident of Pitman, formerly of Haddonfield, died on May 6, 2007, aged 90. She was the wife of the late Michael F.
Survivors: Her step-family, Thomas M. (Elizabeth) of Pitman, Michael F. of East Norriton PA, Regina Phelan Haines (Edwin) of Ocean City; and their six children and twelve grandchildren; sisters, Anne Jerguson of Bellevue WA, Agnes Connelly of Littleton CO, Theresa Myers of Highland Ranch CO, Margaret McInerney of Briarcliff NY.
Mrs. McLenigan became a resident of South Jersey in 1938. She was among the first lay employees of the Camden Diocese and served as a bookkeeper/office manager for 25 years. In June 1964 she was a recipient of a Papal Benemerenti Award.
Mrs. McLenigan’s interests included wartime work as an airplane spotter and with the USO at Fort Dix and at New England General Hospital in Atlantic City. She was a guide for the Catholic Guild for All Blind and joined in her husband’s bird-watching interests through the Pennypack Bird Watchers Club. In recent years she maintained active membership in local AARP clubs and the Catholic Golden Age.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 9, 2007 at Our Lady Queen of Peace RC Church, 161 Pitman Avenue, Pitman, NJ.

Eva W. Carter, a resident of Haddonfield, formerly of Philadelphia (where she was active at the Lindley Methodist Church), died on February 28, 2007, aged 101. She was the wife of the late Stanley G.

Ritchie (Allan) of Haddonfield; 3 grandchildren, Susan (Thomas) Mancinelli of Haddonfield, Philip (Theresa) Ritchie of Mechanicsburg PA, and Steven (Kelly) Ritchie of Blacksburg VA; 4 great grandchildren: Rebecca and Sean Glines, Matthew Mancinelli, and Marissa Ritchie.

HOWELL, Elizabeth
Elizabeth "Betty" A. Howell, a resident of Haddonfield for 45 years, died unexpectedly on February 14, 2007, aged 82.
Mrs. Howell is survived by Monroe, her husband of 57 years; a son, Thomas M. of Moorestown; a sister, Barbara R. Melick of Pinehurst NC; and five grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, March 5 at 11am at Grace Episcopal Church in Haddonfield.

MANNING, Anne M.
Anne M. Manning (nee Peters), a longtime resident of Haddonfield, died on November 21, 2006, aged 69. She was the wife of the late John C. and mother of the late John C. Jr.
Born in Camden and raised in Magnolia, Mrs. Manning graduated from Camden Catholic High School (Class of 1955) and Misericordia Hospital School of Nursing. She was a school nurse at Christ the King Regional School.
Survivors: Daughters, Anne Marie (Alex), of Mechanicsburg PA and Maureen E. of Hershey PA; sons Christopher M. (Sook Kim) of Haddonfield, Thomas P. (Kari Draper) of Narberth PA, and Dennis J. II (Abigail) of Haddon Heights; and 17 grandchildren.

Naomi Stavely (nee Righter), a resident of Collingswood and a former longtime resident of Haddonfield, died on November 8, 2006, aged 83.
Survivors: sons William S. (Patrice) of Collingswood and Thomas B. III (Patti) of Cocoa Beach FL; 3 grandchildren; sister, Carol Mastran (John) of Moorestown; cousin, Marianna Johnson of Cherry Hill.
Mrs. Stavely was a longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church of Haddonfield and taught Kindergarten at the Haddonfield Friends School in the late 1940’s.
