McCAHAN, Elaine
Elaine McCahan (nee Russell), a resident of of Loveland CO, formerly of Haddonfield, died on September 6, 2006, aged 86. She was the husband of the late Thomas W. and mother of the late Marilyn Louise McCahan.

FLOWERS, Anna
Anna L. Flowers (nee Lafferty), a resident of Atco, formerly of Woodbury and Clayton, died on July 6, 2006, aged 102. She was predeceased by her husband, Frank S., and her son, William C.
Survivors: Daughter-in-law Patricia H. of Clayton; grandchildren William ("Hank") (Marie) of Clayton, Christine of Newfield, and Lisa (Thomas Snyder) of Haddonfield; five great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Flowers was born in Ferrell in 1904. She was a 1921 graduate of Woodbury High School and lived much of her life in Woodbury and Clayton. She was also a graduate of the NJ State Normal School (now the College of New Jersey) in Trenton. She taught physical education in the Pitman school district from 1923 until her marriage in 1926.
As the wife of a prominent Woodbury businessman, Mrs. Flowers hosted many parties and was widely admired for her good humor and lively spirit. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (Ann Whitall Chapter) and her family can be traced back to the French Hugenots.
Mrs. Flowers enjoyed traveling the world and did so until she was in her late eighties.

CONWAY, James (Sr.)
James Francis Conway, Sr., a resident of Haddonfield, died on Sunday, May 28, 2006, aged 79.
After graduating from South East Catholic High School in Philadelphia, Mr. Conway attended the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, graduating with the Class of 1949. He was a four-year football letterman and was proud to have been one of the original “Munger” men, so-named in honor of legendary Penn coach, George Munger. He subsequently served in the US Navy.
Mr. Conway married Grace Roseman in 1950. They lived in Lafayette Hills PA and he worked as a sales manager for the Monroe Calculator Company.
Mr. Conway and his brother William launched a mobile ice cream business on March 17, 1956. In honor of St. Patrick’s Day, they drove their truck throughout South Philadelphia and gave away free green ice cream.
Mister Softee Inc. became the first mobile ice cream franchise business in the United States. From a single truck the brothers expanded their operations along the east coast, from New England to Virginia, and Mister Softee became an icon throughout the region.
During the next fifty years, the company expanded throughout the United States and internationally, through a unique franchise concept. The Mister Softee logo and distinctive jingle evoke cherished memories in children and adults of all ages. The Mister Softee image has appeared in numerous television shows, commercials and motion pictures, including Hawaii Five-O, After Hours, Awakenings, and Mister 3000.
Mr. Conway was involved in numerous other business ventures, including commercial real estate and restaurants. He served on the boards of directors for Medquist Inc. and Peoples Bank.
In spite of the extraordinary success of his many business activities, Mr. Conway remained a humble man, devoted to his family and faith. In fact, when asked by anyone, including his children, what he did, his stock answer was, “I sell ice cream for a living.”
Mr. Conway was a major benefactor of the Catholic Church, Catholic Charities, Salvation Army, Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, and the Athletic Department of the University of Pennsylvania.
He and his wife were residents of Haddonfield for over 40 years, summering in Ocean City NJ. After a five-decade career, they retired to Stuart FL, residing at Willoughby Country Club during the winter months. They had a lifelong passion for golf, playing courses around the world. He served as president of Tavistock Country Club and was a founder of the Bohemian Knights golf group at Atlantic City Country Club.
Survivors: wife Grace; son James Jr. of Medford; daughters Barbara of Haddonfield and Cricket of Mountain Lakes; and nine grandchildren.
Family Visitation: Friday, June 2 from 10 to 11am at Christ the King Church.
Funeral Mass: 12n.
Interment: Private.

O’NEIL, Dolores
Dolores O'Neil (nee Balara), a resident of Haddonfield, formerly of Mt. Laurel, died on March 25, aged 77.
Mrs. O'Neil was the wife of Edward Jon O'Neil. Other Haddonfield survivors include a daughter, Marti Gustafson (Chris), and three grandchildren.
She is also survived by another daughter, Lindsay Hamilton (Brian), of Oreland PA, and two grandchildren; and by a brother, James Balara (Janet), of Mt. Laurel.
Mrs. O’Neil’s family will receive friends on Monday (March 29) from 8 to 9:30am at Kain-Murphy Funeral Services, 15 West End Avenue, Haddonfield. A funeral sass will follow, at 10am, at Christ the King Church, 200 Windsor Avenue, Haddonfield. Interment will be at New St. Mary’s Cemetery, Bellmawr.

KEHOE, Thomas
Thomas J. Kehoe, a a longtime resident of Haddonfield, died on March 19, 2006, aged 88.
Survivors: wife Grace (nee Kelly); grandsons Thomas Carpenter (Linda) of Philadelphia and Jeffrey (Jennie) of Haddonfield; 2 great-grandchildren, Zachary and Katie; brothers Lawrence of Martha’s Vineyard MA, William of Boca Raton FL, Jack of Somers Point, and Richard of Pennsauken.
Mr. Kehoe retired in 1986 after serving 13 years as an International Union Representative of the Plumbers and Pipefitters Union. Prior to that, he served as Vice President and Secretary-Treasurer of Local 322 in Camden.
Mr. Kehoe was a longtime member of Christ the King Parish and a 50- year member of the Santa Maria Knights of Columbus. He also belonged to Eagles’ Nest and Clearwater Country Clubs.

GEYER, Sarah E.
Sarah E. Geyer (nee Darragh), a resident of Haddonfield, died on February 13, 2006, aged 93. She was the wife of the late Frank and mother of the late Dennis.
