Jeffrey & Lauren Darr’s little angel, who recently celebrated her 4th birthday, passed peacefully on December 23, 2007 in her parents arms. She is also survived by her loving brother J. Henry Darr of Philadelphia, her grandparents, Jane & Phil Rapone of Cherry Hill, Elaine & Mike Darr of Philadelphia and Dan & Colleen Clapper of SD and 5 aunts, Ashley, Jamie, Gabrielle, Jennifer and Amy. Brennan, Helen M.
On Dec. 22, 2007, age 80, a longtime Haddonfield resident, and sister of Lynne D. Brennan of Haddonfield. Also survived by 2 aunts, Ruth Zeyher of Haddonfield and Virginia Zepf of Ocean City, NJ and numerous cousins. Miss Brennan had been a bookkeeper at Sears for almost 40 years when she retired. She was a gentle person, who loved animals, especially dogs. Additionally, she loved to play the piano and entertain her family and friends. Miss Brennan’s funeral service will be private. CONNELLY, DOROTHY
(nee Yawner) On Dec. 19, 2007, age 80, of Buckingham, formerly of Cherry Hill and wife of the late William H., III. Survived by her son, William A. (Bonnie) and her daughter Carolyn A. Connelly, both of Buckingham, PA and 1 granddaughter, Jaclyn A. Connelly. Dorothy graduated from Bucknell Universtiy in 1949 with a Bachelors of Arts degree and was a member of the Beta Theta Chapter of the Delta Zeta National Sorority. She was a New York State champion baton twirler and also was the majorette for the Bucknell University marching band. After college, Dorothy spent several years as the President of the South Jersey Alumnae Chapter for Delta Zeta. Family and friends are invited to gather at the Kain-Murphy Funeral Home at 10 AM and then process to her Graveside Service at Eglington Cem., Clarksboro, NJ, Saturday, Dec. 29th.
FEICHT, MICHAEL J.
On Dec. 15, 2007, age 95, of Riverton, formerly of Neversink, NY and husband of the late Rita E. (nee Mussenden). Mr. Feicht was born in Passau, Germany, immigrated and became a US citizen in 1931. After serving in the US Army in the Persian Gulf Command during WWII, he returned to civilian life. He worked over 30 years at the Waldorf Astoria in New York City and was a member of the American Legion. He is survived by his son, the Rev. Dr. Michael J. Feicht and his wife Elizabeth Marsh, of Haddonfield, 3 grandchildren, Sarah E. Frederick (Robert) of Cedar Falls, IA, Emily Feicht of Stamford, CT, Peter Feicht of Haddonfield and 2 great grandchildren, David & Henry Frederick. Mr. Feicht’s family will receive friends on Friday, Dec. 28th, after 10:30 AM, at the First Baptist Church of Haddonfield, 124 E. Kings Hwy., Haddonfield; where his Memorial Service will follow at 11 AM. Interment, Baptist Cem., Haddonfield, NJ.
Derham, Joseph S.
On December 16, 2007, age 81, a Haddonfield resident since 1953, died of congestive heart failure at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital. Mr. Derham grew up in Freeport Long Island and was a graduate of Ursinus College where he earned a BS degree in Chemistry. Mr. Derham is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Dorothy Warren Derham, his two sons, Gregory and Thomas, daughter in law, Suzanne, six grandchildren, Jeffrey, Brooke, Mark, Thomas Jackson, Jonathan Matthew, Jesse Kyle and two sisters, Elaine and Gladys. Mr. Derham was predeceased by his son Joseph, Jr. in 1993. Mr. Derham held the position of Senior Vice President with Morgan Stanley. He was employed as an investment manager for 47 years up until his retirement this past June.
Mr. Derham was very active in community affairs and for many years served on the town’s school board. He was Chairman of the Finance, Athletic, and Curriculum Committee. He oversaw the construction and replacement of the town’s Middle School, expansion of the elementary schools, and the addition to the town’s high school. Mr. Derham chaired a Board Committee that purchased Scout Field for the school district. In addition, Mr. Derham helped draw up the plan for the development of the Radnor field complex.
He served the Little League for twenty years as Trustee, Player Agent, Coach, and Manager and was the treasurer for the Midget Football League for seven years. In addition, he led an effort to expand the Little League complex to include two additional fields.
Mr. Derham originated the planning and construction of a Memorial to World War II, Korean, & Vietnam Veterans which is used by the town fathers during Memorial Day services.
Mr. Derham was founder and Trustee of The Robert Fulton Memorial Scholarship Fund and has served as Chairman of the Selection Committee. This fund has provided financial assistance to many students all over the South Jersey area.
Mr. Derham served his country in the United States Army in the 334th Infantry 84 Division 9th Army and took part in combat in the defense of the Siegfried Line and participated in the Battle of the Bulge where he and his division were awarded the Bronze Star for their actions. He was awarded The Purple Heart for wounds received in that battle.
Mr. Derham’s family will receive friends Wed. evening from 7- 9 PM at Kain-Murphy Funeral Home, 15 West End Ave., Haddonfield. His Funeral Mass will follow Thursday morning, 10AM, at Christ the King Catholic Church, 200 Windsor Ave., Haddonfield. Interment will be private. Memorial donations in Mr. Derham’s name may be made to the Bobby Fulton Memorial Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 14, Haddonfield, NJ 08033.
Calhoun, Charles W.
On December 14, 2007, age 71, of Medford Lakes, formerly of Haddonfield and the beloved husband of Trudy M. (nee Halbeisen). Loving father of Joanne LaMaina, of Washington Twp., Chuck Calhoun, of Moorestown and Jennifer Baker, of Paoli, PA. Also survived by 8 grandchildren, 6 stepchildren, Nancy Meyer, Jim Meyer, Kathy Wochele, Michael Meyer, Peter Meyer and Lori Reinstein, 16 stepgrandchildren, 1 brother, Rev. William B. Calhoun and 1 sister, Nancy Runzer. Mr. Calhoun had a long distinguished career as an Insurance Broker. He was the owner of Calhoun Agency in Haddonfield for over 40 years. Additionally, he was a long time member of the Cosmopolitan Club which serviced Camden County for many years. What Charlie loved most was his family, followed by fishing, golf and sailing with his family and friends. His family will receive friends Monday evening from 6 - 9 PM at Kain-Murphy Funeral Home, 15 West End Ave., Haddonfield, and again on Tuesday morning from 9:30-10:30AM. Services will follow, 11AM, at Grace Episcopal Church, 19 E. Kings Hwy., Haddonfield. Interment private. Cooney, Kathryn B.
(nee Bayley) On Dec. 4, 2007, age 98, of Cadbury in Cherry Hill, formerly of Haddonfield & Philadelphia and wife of the late Edward J. Survived by 2 daughters, Ann C. Trotter (Anthony) of Horsham, PA and Kathryn C. Malcarney (Dr. Courtney) of Haddonfield, 1 son, Edward J. Cooney, Jr. (Marilyn) of Westminster, MD, 16 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.
Mrs. Cooney was an active volunteer throughout her life which included her work at the Red Cross during the Viet Nam War and the Girls Scouts of America (Phila.). Locally, she joined the Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital Auxiliary in 1971 and volunteered thousands of hours at the Hospital’s Thrift Shop. Additionally, she was an avid sewer and baker. Mrs. Cooney’s family will receive friends on Friday after 10 AM, at Christ the King R.C. Church, 200 Windsor Ave., Haddonfield; where her Funeral Mass will follow at 11 AM. Interment, Holy Sepulchre Cem., Cheltenham, PA. Memorial donations may be made in Mrs. Cooney’s name to the Our Lady of Lourdes Health Foundation, 1600 Haddon Ave., Camden, NJ 08103.
