Edwin L. Brimfield, 90, of Riverton, passed away Saturday, January 3, 2004 at the Baptist Home of S. Jersey in Riverton. Born in Woodlynne, NJ, Edwin resided in Pennsauken most of his life before moving to Riverton 10 years ago. He retired from the Philadelphia Inquirer in management in 1979. He was a member of the International Typographical Union. Mr. Brimfield was a member of the Calvary Community Baptist Church, he was on the Board of Trustees, and was instrumental in helping to build the new sanctuary and the educational center of the church. Beloved husband of the late Muriel (nee Dougherty); he is the loving father of Paul (Joyce) Brimfield, Alan (Renee) Brimfield, & Jean (Thomas) Corbi; dear grandfather of Jonathan, Justin, Jared & Whitney Brimfield, & Ryan & Kristen Corbi; great grandfather of Jackson Brimfield; brother of Ella Walston; numerous nieces & nephews; dear friend to Helen Gibbs. Carol Ann (Baker) Brown, 57, died Monday, October 6, 2003, after a short illness, at her home in Medford Lakes, NJ. Born and raised in S. Brunswick, NJ, she has lived in Medford Lakes for the past 29 years. Carol graduated from S. Brunswick High School and later earned her BS Degree from Tusculum College in Greenville, TN. She went on to teach second grade in Pennsauken Township before taking a break to raise her three daughters. She taught at Shawnee High School for 10 years before transferring to Cherokee where she has taught Health the last 8 years. Carol was on the Environmental Committee in Stratford, NJ, as well as the Medford Lakes Colony Camp Council. She has spent the last several summers teaching archery at the Medford Lakes Summer Camp. Carol was a member of the Cathedral of the Woods where she served on the Board of Trustees. A master quilter and basket weaver, she was also a member of the Wednesday afternoon bridge club, enjoyed her summer days at Beach 4, and her weekly visits to the Bookmobile. Daughter of the late Raymond and Martha Baker; she is survived by her three daughters and one son-in-law, Stephanie & David Sanchez of Sunrise, FL, Julianne Brown of Coral Springs, FL, and Katy Brown of Ocean City, NJ; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Nancy & Donald Watlington of Monmouth Junction, NJ, and Marilyn & Jim Lovelace of Columbus, NJ, as well as nieces, nephews, grandnieces and many friends. Robert J. Bruce, 52, of Medford Lakes passed away on Saturday, July 5, 2003 at Virtua Memorial Hospital, Mt. Holly. Born in Philadelphia, PA he was a long time resident of Medford Lakes. Mr. Bruce was the service manager with Winner Ford, Cherry Hill for many years. Robert enjoyed playing racquetball, boating, cars and camping. Bob is remembered by his many friends as a warm and loving man whose generosity and kindness inspired the many people he touched. Bob would always extend himself to others who needed help and offer himself with a smile, joke and a willing helping hand. He loved to be challenged. A friendly game of racquetball, watching an Eagles game or his biggest challenge. Bob faced adversities with style, focus, and drive. His passing will leave a void. Valerie DeSwart, 66, of Medford passed away on Monday, September 8, 2003 at home. Born in New Castle Upon Tyne, England, she resided in Miami for many years before moving to Medford 17 years ago. Valerie was a member of the Church of England. Some of her hobbies included gardening, reading and theatre. Daughter of the late Herbert and Ethel Fenwick, she is survived by one son; David F. DeSwart of Medford, one daughter and son-in-law; Claire and Jeffrey Meighan of Atco, NJ, one grandson; Dylan DeSwart, her closest friend Dane Corell.
