Mc Calla Died August 18th 1811 in the 50th year of her age In memory of Auley Mc Calla who was born in Phila- delphia August 20 1760 died in Roadstown September 8th 1801 aged 41 years and 19 days In memory of Hannah G. Mc Calla who was born April 23rd 1763 and died April 9th 1815 aged 51 years & 11 mon and 16 days In memory of Capt John Mc Calla who departed this life July 4th 1784 An expression of filial duty and affection. This tomb is erected in memory of Mr. John Mc Calla. He was a good man in every relation of life, a patriotic citizen, an affectionate husband & father, a kind master, a sincere friend, a humble and devoted and exemplary Christian. He died the 24th day of July 1797 aged 85 years To the memory of William Hollingshead Mc Calla M. D. who departed this life August 16th 1824 aged 52 years 3 months In the family he was happy and accordingly and de- votedly dear to all his relations. To the afflicted survivors his loss is irreparable. Distinguished for the charming piety he possessed. A kind and affectionate heart. Tranquility and cheerfulness of temper inspiring hope and overcoming grief under affliction by the most pious and cheerful resignation. As a Physician he was enlight- ened vigilant & humane. As a man, as a christian he was universally respected and universally regretted. MASKELL Is this the case that all must die And death no age cloth spare Then let each one to Jesus fly And seek for refuge there While pity prevents the rising sigh Oh may this truth impart With awful power I too must die Sink deep in every breast Happy infants early bless'd Rest in peaceful slumber rest Thee we call our own no more died has snatched thee from our arms Heaven shall give thee brighter charms The just shall wake & sing O grave where is thy power O death where is thy sting And take your rest God took you away He thought it best Till the last trumpet joyful sound Then burst the chains with sweet surprise And in his Saviours image rise His infant son Thomas Harrison Mc Calla whose re- mains are also here deposited Deceased March 22nd 1821 aged seven months In memory of Abijah Maskell who departed this life August the 3rd 1806 after a short but painful illness in the 34th year of his age After experiencing in the short period of 25 days the painful affliction of witnessing the death of an affect- ionate wife and two infants, leaving behind him two small children to lament the irreparable loss of an in- dulgent father. His relations were bereft of a valuable kinsman and his neighbors a kind friend In memory of Mary Maskell wife of Abijah Maskell who departed this life July the 9th 1806 in the 29th year of her age Leaving an affectionate husband and four small children together with loving parents and nu- merous friends to lament her loss. This commemorates the death of two twin infant sons of Abijah and Mary Maskell aged 20 days In memory of Martha Sayre Maskell daughter of Abijah & Mary Maskell who departed this life Septem- ber 6th aged 1 year 9 months and 24 days "Lovely innocent farewell" In memory of Constant Maskell who departed this life Decem'r 26th 1739 aged 43 years "Time hastens on the hour" In memory of Ellen daughter of Jacob T & Mary Maskell who departed this life October 1st 1851 aged 3 years 8 mos & 2 days "Sleep on dear child" Beneath this stone was buried the body of Thomas Maskell Esq'r who died Sept 9th 1803 in the 83d year of his age He spent a long life in the exercise of every domestic and many public virtues and exhibited a bright example of integrity economy christian propriety of conduct, as he lived so he died in the faith of the gospel of Christ and with a lively hope of a glorious immortal- ity through the merits of his obedience and death. His flesh shall slumber in the ground. In the memory of Esther Maskell relict of Thomas Maskell Esq'r dec'd who died September 11th 1805 in the 58th year of her age She was an affectionate condescending wife a tender indulgent parent & a bright pattern of domestic virtue & economy. As a professor of religion she was attentive & devout & died in the faith of Jesus Christ, & lively hope of redemption through his blood. Let surviving friends be solicitous in imitating her virtues to follow her footsteps as she followed Christ & did good & to impress their bereavement by diligent preparation for meeting her in a future and more perfect state.
