SALVATORE PILATO, 69, of Sayreville died Aug. 21 in Raritan Bay Medical Center, Perth Amboy division. A daughter, Margaret, died in 1985. Surviving are his wife, Anne Burke Pilato; two sons, Thomas and James of Sayreville; two daughters, Cathleen Cuches of East Brunswick and Laura Josselyn of Woodbridge; and four grandchildren. Services were arranged by Gundrum Service Home for Funerals, South Amboy, with a Mass at St. Mary's Church, South Amboy. Interment was in Forest Green Park Cemetery, Marlboro.
ELAINE SHEEHAN BARANEK, 43, of East Brunswick died Aug. 30 in Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge division. Surviving are her husband, Joseph Baranek; two sons, Jeffrey Baranek and Ian Baranek, both at home; and a brother, Douglas Sheehan of New Brunswick. Services were held at Rezem Funeral Home, East Brunswick. Interment was in Forest Green Memorial Park Cemetery, Morganville section of Marlboro.
BERTHA M. SWITZER CONOVER, 71, of Spotswood died Aug. 31 in Mercy Hospital, Scranton, Pa. Her husband, Roger, died in 1978. Surviving are two sons, David Conover of Spotswood and U.S. Army Col. Bruce Conover of Marshall, Va.; two daughters, Maureen Conover-Bacchetti of Lake Ariel, Pa., and Dawn Lohr of Spotswood; a brother, James J. Switzer of Mount Pocono, Pa.; and seven grandchildren. Services were arranged by Brunswick Memorial Home, East Brunswick, with a Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Spotswood. Interment was in Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick.
MILLIE BELMONTE CAROLEO, 78, of Spotswood died Aug. 31 at home. Surviving are her husband, Rocco Caroleo; three daughters, Angela Colaianni of Colts Neck, Loretta Guglielmo of Morris Plains and Donna Killian of Old Bridge; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Services were arranged by Rezem Funeral Home, East Brunswick, with a Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Spotswood. Entombment was in Holy Cross Burial Park Mausoleum, South Brunswick.
CAROLYN GOLDFINE WOOD, 79, of Monroe, formerly of Englishtown, died Sept. 3 at home. Her first husband, Jacob Goldfine, died in 1977, and her second husband, Charles Wood, died in 1998. Surviving are a son, Robert Goldfine of Freehold; four daughters, Marilyn Clinton of Atlanta, Martha Walsh of Howell, Helen Vota of Sea Girt and Sandra Sribnick of Silver Spring, Md.; a sister, Judith Levine of Florida; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Services were held at Bloomfield-Cooper Jewish Chapels, Manalapan. Interment was in Congregation Sons of Israel Cemetery, Englishtown.
PIOTR NIEDZWIECKI, 82, of Asheville, N.C., formerly of East Brunswick, died Sept. 2 in Magnolia Nursing Home, Asheville. His wife, Ilka Leimkuehler Niedzwiecki, died in 1984, and a daughter, Tammy Niedzwiecki, died in 1961. Surviving are a son, Edward Niedzwiecki of Asheville; and a brother, Kazik Niedzwiecki of Poland. Arrangements were under the direction of Rezem Funeral Home, East Brunswick.
LENA RANNAZZISI, 94, of Lakewood, formerly of South River, died Sept. 3 in Fountain View Care Center, Lakewood. She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph. Surviving are two daughters, Nina Militano of Cranbury and Rose Morris of the Silverton section of Dover; a son, Jack Mogavero of Colts Neck; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Services were arranged by O'Brien Funeral Home, Brick, with a Mass at St. James Church, Jamesburg. Interment was in the church cemetery.
MITROFAN SZEWELANCZYK, 95, of South River died Sept. 3 at home. Surviving are two sons, Michael Szewelanczyk of South River and William of Washington State. Arrangements were under the direction of Maliszewski Funeral Home, South River, with services at Evangelical Church Assemblies of God, South River. Interment was in Washington Monumental Cemetery, South River.
ERNEST G. CHRIST, 83, of Monroe, formerly of Milltown, died Sept. 12 in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Surviving are his wife, Louise Olszewski Christ; three daughters, Maureen Bollinger of Westlake Village, Calif., Kate Ventura of Wading River, N.Y., and Laura Axthelm of Westport, Conn.; a son, Peter Lynch of Chelmsford, Mass.; two sisters, Lorna Smith and Esther Garner, both of Cannonsburg, Pa.; and five grandchildren. Arrangements were under the direction of Crabiel Home for Funerals, with services at St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Milltown. Interment was in Van Liew Cemetery, North Brunswick.
PHYLLIS E. NARDINE, 65, of East Brunswick died Sept. 9 at home. Surviving are her husband, James A.; two sons, Michael J. Nardine of Helmetta and Paul J. of Monroe; two daughters, Fran Ondayko of Monroe and Lisa Choborda of East Brunswick; two sisters, Margaret Acocella of Verona and Anna Vuono of York, Pa.; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Marie and Larry Fama; and seven grandchildren. Services were held at Freeman Manalapan-Marlboro Funeral Home, Manalapan, with a funeral liturgy at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Old Bridge.
MILENA BRAVO QUAGLIETTA, 63, of Jamesburg died Sept. 9 in Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge division. She was the co-owner of Quality Electric Motor Services, East Brunswick, for 28 years. Surviving are her husband, Michele B.; a daughter, Milena Jacobs of Bedminster; three sons, Anthony of Clarksburg, Michael of Monroe and Dino of New York City; five brothers, Raul Bravo of Denver, Hernan Bravo of Richmond, Va., Rene Troncoso of Annandale, Va., Oscar Troncoso of Mexico City and Jorge Troncoso of Bolivia; four sisters, Irma Porkalab of Denver and Nora Bravo, Aida Cespedes and Bettina deMady, all of Bolivia; and seven grandchildren. Services were arranged by M. David DeMarco Funeral Home, Monroe, with a funeral liturgy at St. James Church, Jamesburg. Entombment was in Holy Cross Mausoleum, South Brunswick. Stout; three sons, David Stout of East Brunswick, Donald Stout of Middletown and Elmer Stout of Spring Hill, Fla.; a brother, Walter Mrozek of South River; 13 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. ETHEL STEPKO KELLY, 70, of the Parlin section of Sayreville, formerly of South River, died Sept. 10 at home. Surviving are two sons, Richard Kelly of Florida and David Kelly of South River; two daughters, Theresa Carlo of Jackson and Barbara Kelly of South River; two brothers, Frank Stepko of Parlin and Charles Stepko of Virginia; three sisters, Julia Kozo of Virginia, Anne Jensen of South River and Elene Buckalew of Parlin. Services were held at Rezem Funeral Home, East Brunswick. Interment was in Washington Monumental Cemetery, South River.
DANIEL L. KLINGER, 69, of Tuckerton, formerly of Sayreville, died Sept. 9 in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. His wife, Sophie Balon Klinger, died in 1997. JEANETTE WOSCYNA MEYERTONS, 65, of Sayreville died Sept. 8 in Community Medical Center, Toms River section of Dover. Surviving are her husband, Karl R. Meyertons; two daughters, Dr. Janise L. Nelson of the Pittstown section of Franklin and Denise M. Saric of Burbank, Calif.; a brother, Joseph Woscyna of East Brunswick; three sisters, Viola Garboski of East Brunswick, Bernice Castiglia of Lyndhurst and Helen Stochel of the Parlin section of Sayreville; and two grandchildren. OLGA BOSKO BOYLER, 87, of Sayreville died Sept. 18 in Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge division. Her husband, Walter, died in 1976. She was predeceased by her husband, Aloysius, and a son, Bernard Janas. Surviving are two sons, Aloysius F. Yanas of Barnegat and Thomas Janas of Morgan; two sisters, Annie Dittman and Margaret Mazur, both of Florida; four grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter. Services were arranged by Carmen F.
