EDNA MAE BETZLER SPRENG, 86, of East Brunswick died Sept. 3 at home. She was predeceased by her husband, John Spreng. She is survived by three daughters and two sons-in-law, Joan and Richard Benedict of Concord, Vt.; Joyce and Thomas Podwats of East Brunswick; and Theresa Alessi of East Brunswick; two sisters, Rosemary Brainard of South River, and Florence Pychevicz of Whitefield, N.H.; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be Sept. 6 at 8:15 a.m. at Rezem Funeral Home, East Brunswick. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 9 a.m. at St. Thomas The Apostle Roman Catholic Church, Old Bridge. Burial will be at Washington Monumental Cemetery, South River.
ROSE M. CHIARO HORN, 88, of Sayreville died Sept. 5 at Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge. She was a solderer at Western Electric, Kearny, for 40 years, retiring in 1973. She was predeceased by her husband, Francis Horn; two brothers, Thomas and Michael Chiaro; and a sister, Filomena Chiaro. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Lona and Larry Bishop of Sayreville; two sisters, Sara Rembecki of Dixon City, Pa., and Theresa Hilken of Port Reading; two brothers, Joseph Chiaro of Toms River, and Dominick Chiaro of Jersey City; and two grandchildren. Visitation will be Sept. 6 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home, Parlin. A funeral service will be Sept. 7 at 9:15 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Victories Roman Catholic Church, Sayreville. Burial will be at New Calvary Cemetery, Parlin.
MARGARET I. SCHUSTER WEBER, 98, of Sayreville died Sept. 4 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. She was a retired telephone operator for Bell Telephone Company, South River, where she was employed for several years. She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph J. Weber, and a son, Joseph Weber. She is survived by two daughters, Margaret Hahn of Sayreville, and Jimmy Weber of Miami, Fla.; her son, Robert Weber of Louisville, Ky.; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Sept. 6 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at Kurzawa Funeral Home, Sayreville. A memorial service will be Sept. 6 at 7:15 p.m. at American Legion Unit No. 211 Women’s Auxiliary, Sayreville. A funeral service will be Sept. 7 at 8 a.m. at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 9 a.m. at Our Lady of Victories Roman Catholic Church, Sayreville. Burial will be at New Calvary Cemetery, Parlin.
JAMES FRANKLYN "FRANK" HANEKE JR., 82, of Myerstown, Pa., formerly of New Brunswick and Edison, died Aug. 27 at home. His wife, Jane VanDerHoef Haneke, died in 1997. Surviving are two daughters, Dallas J. Main of Charleston, S.C., and Hollis A. Besosa of Mount Pleasant, S.C.; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service was held at Crabiel Home for Funerals, Milltown. Interment

STANLEY J. PRZYBYLKO, 67, of New Brunswick died Aug. 25 at home. He was predeceased by his wife, Jean Wissing Przybylko, and by a son, Walter Przybylko. Surviving are a son, Stanley J. Przybylko of Pemberton; two daughters, Louanne Varnier of Hampton, Va., and Nancy Jeffries of Moapa, Nev.; three sisters, Marie Kolb of Holland, Pa., Florence Kuna of North Brunswick and Elizabeth Bellows of Walnut Creek, Calif.; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Services were held at Maliszewski Memorial Home, Sayreville. Cremation was private. Interment
of his cremated remains will be at the convenience of the family at Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arnytown section of North Hanover.
GEORGE EDWARD McSHANE, 75, of Old Bridge died Aug. 30 at St. Peter’s University Hospital, New Brunswick. He was a retired paper maker for Kimberly Clark. He is survived by his wife, Cecilia Radtke McShane; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Michael McShane of Old Bridge, Joseph and Geri McShane of Orange City, Fla., and Martin and Carol-Jean McShane of Jamesburg; two daughters and one son-in-law, Mary Ann and Peter Pappas of Keyport, and Theresa McShane of Jackson; two sisters, Barbara Martinetti of Berkeley Heights and Florence Rothenberger of Redland, Calif.; and 11 grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at the Immaculate Conception Church, Spotswood.
JAMES E. BACSOKA, 90, of the Parlin section of Sayreville died Aug. 28 in Raritan Bay Medical Center, Perth Amboy division. His wife, Dorothy Piechocinski Bacsoka, died in 1996. Surviving are a son, James Bacsoka of Parlin; a daughter, Doris Bacsoka of Parlin; five grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. A Mass was offered at St. Bernadette’s Church, Parlin section of Old Bridge. Interment
was in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Parlin section of Sayreville.
LYDIA WERNER EMMONS, 92, of Sayreville died Aug. 26 in Carriage House Manor, Sayreville. Her husband, Paul, died in 1979. Surviving are a son, Paul Emmons of Sayreville; a daughter, Ruth Kreismer of Sayreville; and two grandsons. Services were held at the First Presbyterian Church of Sayreville. PHYLLIS C. HERDMAN QUIJANO, 48, of Sayreville died Aug. 29 at home. She was predeceased by a son, Cary Quijano; her father, Walter Herdman; and a brother, Ronald Herdman. She is survived by her husband, Dr. Cari T. Quijano; a daughter, Corrine Quijano of Sayreville; her mother, Emily Herdman of Edison; a brother, Robert Herdman of Lakewood; and two grandsons. Burial was at St. Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia.
MARIA BARBARO RODD, 53, of Sayreville died Aug. 30 at home.
