CURTIS DAVIS, 64, of Manalapan died Jan. 1 at Freehold Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Freehold Township. Mr. Davis was born in Downs, Ala., and had lived in the Freehold are for most of his life. He was a former member of the Walter J. Conley Lodge No. 1379, I.B.P.O.E.-W. Elks, Freehold. Mr. Davis is survived by his wife, Bessie; a daughter, Belinda; his mother, Leila Pearson Davis of Manalapan; a brother, Ben E. Davis Jr. of Jackson; a sister, Wilma J. Forrest of Wilmington, Del.; and one grandson.
ANNA M. BELLINO, 68, of Howell died Dec. 31 at Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune. Born in Jersey City, she had lived there before moving to Howell in 1997. She was a receptionist at St. Peter’s College, Jersey City, from 1978 to 1980. She was a communicant of St. Robert Bellarmine Roman Catholic Church, Freehold Township. She is survived by her husband, Raymond A.; three sons, Raymond Jr. of Jackson; Perry M. of Atlanta and John of Aimont, N.Y.; two daughters, Marie Heitner of Fords and Margaret Rooney of Tinton Falls; a sister, Phlecia Fitzpatrick of Maryland; and 10 grandchildren. The funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Robert Bellarmine Church, followed by interment at Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery, Arnytown.
MICHELE LUBRANO, 76, of Manalapan died Jan. 2. He had lived in Brooklyn, N.Y., before moving to Manalapan. He is survived by his wife, Carmella; two sons and daughters-in-law, Biagio and Anne Lubrano, and Anthony and Doreen Lubrano; three daughters and a son-in-law, Mary Lubrano, Angela Lubrano, and Antoinette and Giorgio Ceciarelli; four brothers, Palmerlino, Peppino, Giovanni and Domenico; a sister, Lucia; and 11 grandchildren. The funeral liturgy was celebrated at Sacred Heart and St. Stephen churches, Brooklyn, followed by entombment at St. John Cemetery, Middle Village, N.Y.
FRANCESCO MINARDO, 64, of Manalapan, died Jan. 3 at The Manor, Freehold Township. Born in Sicily, Italy, Mr. Minardo had been a resident of Manalapan for the past 27 years. He was a barber at Paddock Hairstyling Unisex Salon in Freehold before retiring in 1998. He was a communicant of St. Thomas More Roman Catholic Church, Manalapan. Mr. Minardo was predeceased by his wife, Antoinette, who died in 1997. He is survived by two sons, Domenick of the Morganville section of Marlboro and Anthony of Lexington, Ky.; a daughter, Marie-Elena Minardo of Ocean Township; and three brothers, John and Umberto, both of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Salvatore of Italy. A funeral Mass was offered at St. Thomas More Church, followed by interment at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold Township.
ELLEN POPE, 75, of Farmingdale, died Jan. 3 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. She was born in Jersey City and lived there before moving to Farmingdale two years ago. Mrs. Pope was employed by Colgate Palmolive Co., Jersey City, for 27 years before her retirement in 1991. She was a communicant of St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church, Farmingdale, and was a former parishioner of Our Lady of Victories, Jersey City. She was predeceased by a brother, Patrick Pritchard, in 2001. Mrs. Pope is survived by a daughter, Elaine Mansfield of Farmingdale; and a sister, Catherine Clohessy of Farmingdale. The funeral Mass was offered at St. Catherine of Siena Chapel, with the Rev. Michael Vona as celebrant. Interment
was at Holy Name Cemetery, Jersey City.
RUTH ROSENBERG, 89, of Freehold, died Jan. 4 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Mrs. Rosenberg was born in New York City and lived in Freehold for the past 50 years. She was a member of the Sisterhood of Congregation Agudath Achim, Freehold, and a volunteer at CentraState Medial Center. Mrs. Rosenberg was predeceased by her husband, Emanuel Rosenberg, who died in 1985. She is survived by two nephews, Michael Toubin of Freehold and Jerry Toubin of Marlboro; and a niece, Judy Romanoff of Merrick, N.Y. Graveside services were held at Congregation Agudath Achim Cemetery, Freehold Township, with Rabbi Kenneth Greene officiating.
MICHAEL W. BROWN, 64, of Howell, died Dec. 27 at Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune. Mr. Brown was born in East Orange and lived in Rahway before moving to Howell 26 years ago. He was a U.S. Marine veteran serving during the Vietnam conflict. Mr. Brown was a production manager for 3-M Corp., Freehold Township, for 14 years, retiring in 1997. Prior to that he was employed by Singer Corp., Elizabeth. Surviving are his wife, Veronica Brown of Howell; two sons, Michael G. Brown of Baltimore, Md., and Maurice W. Brown of San Diego, Calif.; and two sisters, Claire Swinson of Franklin Park, and Phyllis Swinson of Dunellen.
CAROLINE L. STRAWS, 85, of Freehold, died Dec. 6 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Born in Freehold, she was a lifelong resident. She was a domestic worker before her retirement 14 years ago. She was a lifelong member of the Bethel A.M.E. Church, Freehold, where she was active in the Missionary Group and the vacation Bible school. She is survived by a sister, Anna Straws of Freehold; six cousins; and a godson, Dennis Duckenfield of Freehold. Funeral services were held at Bethel A.M.E. Church, followed by interment at Maplewood Cemetery, Freehold Township.
DORIS MARIE TAMMADGE (nee Burnell), 72, of Freehold Township, died Dec. 8 at home. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., she had lived in Freehold since 1990. She was a machine demonstrator and sewing instructor for the Singer Sewing Machine Co., and then worked in retail for 20 years at Alexander’s department store, both in Brooklyn. She retired in 1990. She studied fashion design and dressmaking at Prospect Heights High School, Brooklyn. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Harry J. "Pudge"; three sons and a daughter-in-law, John of Brooklyn, Michael of Freehold, and Jim and Katy of Arlington, Va.; two daughters and a son-in-law, Patricia and Richard T. Hamilton Sr. of Freehold, and Terry Tammadge of Austin, Texas; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Interment
was at Cypress Hills, Brooklyn.
JOSEPH A. LIPOSKI, 82, of Middletown, died Dec. 22 at the Arnold Walter Nursing Home, Holmdel. Born in Connellsville, Pa., he had lived in Jersey City before moving to Middletown in 1957. He was employed by Metro Glass, Jersey City, for 43 years, retiring as plant manager in 1980. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, having attained the rank of master sergeant; and was a member of the Middletown American Legion. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Vilma L. (nee Poracky); and three brothers, Francis Liposki of Freehold, Andrew Liposki of Jersey City and Michael Liposki of Duquesne, Pa. The funeral liturgy was celebrated at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, followed by interment at Mount Olivet Cemetery, both Middletown.
