CHESTER KARWACKI, 89, of South River died April 20 in Care One Hospice, East Brunswick. He owned and was a master baker at Quality Bakery, South River, from 1945-1965. After his retirement, he was a custodian at South River High School for several years. He was predeceased by his wife, Jennie Blaszka Karwacki. Surviving are a sister, Dorothy Sekula of Sayreville; a son, Dr. Chester T. Karr of East Brunswick; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. A Mass was offered at St. Mary of Ostrabrama Church, South River. Interment
was in St. Mary’s Cemetery, East Brunswick.
GEORGE LEWCZUK, 82, of Spotswood, formerly of South River, died April 19 in Old Bridge Manor Care Center. Surviving are his wife, Willa Savschenko Lewczuk, and a daughter, Natasha Lewczuk of Houston. A service was held at St. Euphrosynia Belarus Church, South River.
HENRY MAJEWSKI, 87, of Sayreville died April 16 at home. Surviving are his wife, Pearl Budny Majewski; two daughters, Louise Clune of Manahawkin and Lorraine Grimley of South Amboy; two sisters, Connie Bogush and Anna Petersack, both of South River; eight grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. A Mass was offered at St. Stanislaus Church, Sayreville. Interment
was in the church cemetery.
TERESA C. SCHWARICK, 78, of South Amboy died April 18 in Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. Prior to her retirement in 1977, she was a schoolteacher with the Woodbridge Township Board of Education for 30 years. She was a former member and past president of the South Amboy Board of Education and the Middlesex County School Board. Her husband, William B. Schwarick, a sergeant with the South Amboy Police Department, died in 1962. Surviving are a son, William J. Schwarick of South Amboy; a grandson, William P. Schwarick of Washington Township; and a great-grandson. A Mass was offered at St. Mary’s Church, South Amboy. Interment

JOSEPH M. MAHON, 76, of Holmdel died Dec. 6 at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Born in Weehawken, he resided in Freehold prior to moving to Holmdel 19 years ago. He was a retail and corporate vice president at Associated Dry Goods Incorporated, New York City, for several years, retiring in 1986. He served with the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a communicant of St. Catharine’s Roman Catholic Church, Holmdel. He is survived by his wife, Helen Crine Mahon of Holmdel; two daughters, Mary Margaret Mahon of Dallas, Texas, and Susan Mahon of Holmdel; his son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Carolyn Mahon of Warwick, N.Y.; his brother, John Mahon of Richardson, Texas; his sister, Julia McClernon of Marsville, Pa.; and four granddaughters. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Dec. 11 at 10 a.m. at St. Catharine’s Roman Catholic Church, Holmdel. Burial will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Keyport.
DAVID K. CZESNIK of Union Beach died Dec. 1. Born in Jersey City, he resided in the Port Monmouth section of Middletown before moving to Union Beach 19 years ago. He was the owner and president of Custom Electrical Designs for 25 years. He was a member of King of Kings Lutheran Church, Middletown. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Mystic Brotherhood No. 21, Red Bank. His activities included skydiving, scuba diving, and going to the beach. He is survived by his parents, Joseph and Joan Czesnik of Port Monmouth; a sister and brother-in-law, Roy and Eileen Czesnik of Middletown; and three nieces. A memorial gathering will be held Dec. 5 from 7-9 p.m. at John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown. A memorial service will be held Dec. 6 at 10 a.m. at King of Kings Lutheran Church, Middletown. DOROTHY HOLLIDAY WALKER, 85, of Keyport died Nov. 28 at Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune. She was born in the Bronx, N.Y. Mrs. Walker was a member of St. John’s United Methodist Church, Hazlet. She was a member and former president of Eagle Hose Women’s Auxiliary, as well as the Keyport Seniors and Hazlet Seniors. Mrs. Walker was predeceased by her husband, Edmund F. Walker, in August; and two sons, Donald Arthur Walker and Robert John Walker. She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Arthur E. and Nancy M. Holliday of Ridge Manor, Fla.; her brother-in-law, Donald H. Walker of Matawan; and several nieces and nephews. Interment

VINCENT J. ROSSI JR., 56, of Parlin, formerly of Hazlet, died Nov. 29 at home. Born in Newark, he had resided in Hazlet before moving to Parlin 12 years ago. Mr. Rossi was an in-house salesman at Benedict Miller, Lyndhurst, for five years. He was also a professional drummer and saxophone player for more than 30 years. He served in the U. S. Army National Guard. Mr. Rossi is survived by his wife, Susan Marshall Rossi; two sons, Vincent M. Rossi and Robert Moccio; and his daughter, Shauna Moccio, all of Parlin; his parents, Vincent and Catherine Rossi Sr. of Toms River; and his sister, Carol Maciliawn of Kearny. Burial was at Chestnut Hill Cemetery, Old Bridge.
HARRIET F. CARLSON, 66, of Ormond Beach, Fla., died Nov. 23 at Memorial Hospital, Ormond Beach. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., she resided in the Belford section of Middletown several years prior to moving to Ormond Beach. She worked at Publix Supermarket, Ormond Beach, until recently. Prior to that, she was employed at Foodtown Supermarket, Atlantic Highlands, retiring in 1992. She was a former communicant of St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, New Monmouth section of Middletown. She was a lifelong member of the Meat Cutters Union of New Jersey. She was also a member and officer of the Ormond Beach Moose Lodge, and an ex-member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 2179, Port Monmouth section of Middletown. She is survived by two daughters, Gail Cranick of North Carolina, and Ann Tompkins of Florida; four sons, William Carlson of Florida, Robert Carlson of Port Monmouth, and Glenn Carlson and Michael Carlson, both of Belford; 12 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
ROBERT A. MORGAN, 43, of Keansburg died Nov. 28 at home. Born in Red Bank, he was a lifelong resident of Keansburg. Mr. Morgan was a concierge at a cooperative building in New York City. Prior to that, he worked at Radio City Music Hall, New York City, and at Cafe Bar and Restaurant, Long Branch. He was a communicant of St. Ann’s Roman Catholic Church, Keansburg. Politically active, he previously served as a councilman and deputy mayor for the Borough of Keansburg, commissioner for the Keansburg Municipal Utilities Authority, and was the Keansburg Democratic municipal chairman. He was also a current member of the Monmouth County Democratic Executive Committee, Keansburg Board of Health, Keansburg Recreation Committee, and the Save the Bay Committee. He served as a campaign manager in borough council elections, where he had been a campaign worker since his early teens. He was a delegate, shop steward and sergeant-at-arms for the International Service Employees Union Local 32. His volunteer activities included Ronald McDonald House and Clean Ocean Action. He was predeceased by his parents, William and Mary Haviland Morgan; and two brothers, James Morgan and Sonny Morgan. He is survived by four brothers, Richard Morgan of Middletown, Dennis Morgan of California, Daniel Morgan of Pennsylvania, and Jack Morgan of New Jersey; five sisters, Cathy Quilty and Patricia Cryan, both of Florida, Elizabeth Liu and Lorraine Kearny, both of Long Branch, and Carol Parsons of Keansburg.
