James B. Golding
Mr. Golding, 38, of Westfield died June 11 following a lengthy illness. Born in Long Branch, he resided in New York City and Middletown before moving to Westfield three years ago. Mr. Golding was an assistant district attorney for the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office, where he was employed for more than 16 years. He was a member of the Bayshore Saltwater Flyrodders Fishing Club. Mr. Golding was predeceased by a brother, Edward Golding. He is survived by his wife of four years, Linda Maguire; his parents, Edward Golding and Ann Cleary Golding of Middletown; four brothers and two sisters-in-law, Michael and Kelli Golding of Middletown, John Golding of Atlanta, Thomas and Tara Golding of Middletown, and Daniel Golding of Red Bank; a sister and brother-in-law, Annmarie and James McCarthy of Middletown; his grandmother, Agnes Cleary of Keansburg; his mother- and father-in-law, Jean and John Maguire of New Hampshire; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. A funeral liturgy was offered at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, New Monmouth section of Middletown, followed by burial at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Middletown. The John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown, was in charge of arrangements.
Annemarie Policke
Mrs. Policke, 83, of Sea Bright died June 4 at home. Born in Berlin, Germany, she resided in Summit prior to moving to Sea Bright 30 years ago. She was a retired employee at Ciba-Geigy Pharmaceutical, where she was employed several years. She was predeceased by her husband, Heinz Policke in 2002. She is survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Arrangements were by John E. Day Funeral Home, Red Bank. Mary K. Brooks
Miss Brooks, 48, of Shrewsbury Township died July 8 at home. She was born in Red Bank. Miss Brooks was an employee of the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office, Freehold, before her retirement. Prior to that, she was employed by the Neptune City Police Department and the Fair Haven Police Department. She was a communicant of St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank, and was a member of Shrewsbury First Aid Squad for several years. Miss Brooks was predeceased by her father, William F. Brooks, in 1983; her mother, Patricia M. Brooks, in 1999; and a sister, Michele Brooks-LoBosco, in 1998. She is survived by a sister, Patricia M. Rackley of Texas; four nieces; and one nephew. Wilson T. "Billy" Hubbard
Mr. Hubbard, 65, of Little Silver died July 8 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in Long Branch, he had resided in the area 43 years. He was a salesman for Consolidated Simon of Union, Neptune, retiring June 30. He was an Eagle Scout, Boy Scouts of America Troop 71. He was a member of the Order of the Arrow, Past Great Sachem Redman Tecumseh, Tribe No 60. He enjoyed fishing and was an avid fan of NASCAR (National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing). Mr. Hubbard was predeceased by his mother, Irma Hendrickson Hubbard. He is survived by his wife, L. Anne Rosse Hubbard; two sons and daughters-in-law, David R. and Theresa Hubbard of Poughkeepsie, N.Y., and Nicholas J. and Cathy Hubbard of Little Silver; his father, E. Wilson Hubbard of Long Branch; a brother, Eugene Richard Hubbard of the Oakhurst section of Ocean Township; and five grandchildren. Interment

Florence V. Connors
Mrs. Connors, 102, of Oceanport died June 20 at home. She resided in Monmouth Beach, Atlantic Highlands and the Leonardo section of Middletown prior to moving to Oceanport in 1980. Mrs. Connors was a homemaker. She was a communicant of St. Dorothea’s Roman Catholic Church, Eatontown. She was a past member and president of St. Agnes School P.T.A., Atlantic Highlands, and a member of the Senior Citizens Club of Oceanport. She was predeceased by her husband, Maj. Michael J. Connors, in 1968; and two sons, Richard J. in 1979 and Robert F. in 2002. She is survived by three sons and one daughter-in-law, Thomas F. and Virginia C. Connors of Toms River, Michael J. Connors Jr. of Monticello, N.Y., and Edward J. Connors of Newport News, Va.; two daughters and one son-in-law, Florence J. and J. Robert Sagurton of Little Silver, and Joan D. Matilda Aspelund
Mrs. Aspelund, 99, of Eatontown died June 30 at Gateway Care Center, Eatontown. Born in Jersey City, she resided in Palisades Park before moving to Monmouth County in 1990. Mrs. Aspelund was a typist at Insurance Company of North America and at Western Electric, retiring in 1956. She was predeceased by her husband, Holberg Aspelund, in 1989. Surviving are two nieces, Teresa Giordano of Monmouth Beach and Evelyn Bonanno of Shrewsbury; and several grandnieces grandnephews, great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews, and one great-great-grandniece. Gertrude "Trudy" V. Gregg
Mrs. Gregg, 80, of Shrewsbury died June 22 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in New York City, she resided in Toms River prior to moving to Shrewsbury 60 years ago. Mrs. Gregg was a homemaker. Prior to that, she was a sales representative at Steinbach’s, Red Bank, and worked in the drafting department at Lakehurst Naval Air Station. She was an active member of First Presbyterian Church at Red Bank-Tower Hill, where she was a Sunday school teacher and a member of the Women’s Circle. She also was a Girl Scout leader for several years. Mrs. Gregg was predeceased by a sister, May Applegate. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, William E. Gregg Jr.; a son and daughter-in-law, William E. and Mary Gregg III of Wantage; a daughter and son-in-law, Diana and Robert Mielech of the Belford section of Middletown; and five grandchildren. Ronald M. Obach
Mr. Obach, 74, of Tinton Falls died June 9 at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch, following a lengthy illness. He was born in Ridgefield Park. Mr. Obach was employed at Fort Monmouth, where he performed military service for 27 years and retired with the rank of colonel. He was a graduate of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, N.Y. He earned a master’s degree from Harvard University, Cambridge, Mass., and a master of military arts and science at the Command and General Staff College, Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. He was predeceased by his first wife, Margaret Rose Obach. Mr. Obach is survived by his wife, Ellen Walch Obach; a daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Fred Colson of Clearwater, Fla.; a son and daughter-in-law, Philip and Vera Obach of New Port Richey, Fla.; a sister and brother-in-law, Phyllis and Jack Kaufhold of River Edge; a daughter-in-law, Selena Zito; two stepsons; four grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Elizabeth "Betty" G. Strong
Mrs. Strong, 75, of Middletown died June 7 at home. Born in Red Bank, she resided in the Leonardo section of Middletown prior to moving to Shadow Lake Village, Middletown, 14 years ago. She was a retired medical receptionist at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. She volunteered at the Food Pantry, Atlantic Highlands, and was a member of the Nifty Fifty Club at Church of the Nativity, Fair Haven. She was predeceased by her husband of 49 years, William H. Strong Sr. in 1997. She is survived by two sons, Robert Strong and William H. Strong Jr., both of Long Branch; a daughter and son-in-law, Laurie and David Carhart of Leonardo; a sister, Margaret Lang of Fair Haven; a brother and sister-in-law, Joseph and Vivian Scoles of Tinton Falls; a nephew; and several great-nieces and great-nephews. Audrey C. Appleyard
Mrs. Appleyard, 84, of Middletown died July 5 at home following a lengthy illness. She resided in Tinton Falls for 23 years before moving to Middletown 24 years ago. Mrs. Appleyard was a homemaker. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Shrewsbury. She was predeceased by her husband of 49 years, Glenn Appleyard Sr., in 1992; a son, Bruce Appleyard, in 2002; and a daughter, Barbara Russek, in 1992. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Glenn N. and Christine Appleyard Jr. of Wilton, Conn.; a daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Michael Golden of Morris Plains; and seven grandchildren.
