OLGA LENECO, 97, of Middletown died Aug. 24 at Meridian Nursing Home, Red Bank. Born in Newark, she had been a resident of West Long Branch for most of her life. She was a secretary for various companies in Newark, where she worked for many years. She was predeceased by two brothers, Joseph Leneco and Barnie Wadsworth. Funeral services were private.

PAULINE VICTORIA (née NOBLE) KIMBALL, 75, of Middletown died Aug. 22 at Meridian Nursing and Rehabilitation, Red Bank, after a long illness. She was a resident of Port Monmouth for more than 50 years before moving to Daniel Towers in Middletown. She grew up at Noble’s Texaco Station in what is now the Port Monmouth jug handle. She was a member of the Port Monmouth Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary for 50 years; a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2179 Auxiliary for more than 25 years; and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Leonardo. She also was a member of the Port Monmouth First Aid Auxiliary. She was predeceased by a daughter, Debra Urspruch. Surviving are three sons, George Jr. of Newport Richie, Fla., Robert of Middletown and William of Hazlet; a daughter, Judith Araniecke of Port Monmouth; a sister, Jane Spivey of Middletown; a brother, George Noble of Port Monmouth; seven grandsons; three granddaughters; and one great-grandson due in November. She donated her body to medical research. A private family service was held.

WILLIAM J. SIMMONS, 80, of Middletown died Aug. 22 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he lived there until moving to Middletown in 1961. He was employed at Citibank, New York City, for 43 years, retiring as a vice president in 1987. He was a member of St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, New Monmouth section of Middletown. He served on the USS Antietam in the Pacific during World War II. He is survived by his wife, Margaret McLoughlin Simmons of Middletown; two sons and daughters-in-law, William and Leah Simmons, and Kevin and Eileen Simmons, all of Middletown; a daughter and son-in-law, Jean and Donald Patania of Brick; three brothers, James Simmons, Joseph Simmons, and Thomas Simmons; two sisters, Helen Simmons and Anne Dempsey; and four grandchildren. A funeral liturgy was celebrated at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, New Monmouth. Interment was at Fair View Cemetery, Middletown. Memorial donations may be made to the Monsignor Robert T. Bulman Scholarship Fund, c/o St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, 26 Leonardville Road, New Monmouth, 07748.

MARY ELIZABETH SHEA, 74, of Rumson died Aug. 24 at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. Born in Jackson Heights, N.Y., she had lived in Mineola, N.Y., before moving to Rumson in 1943. After raising her children, Mrs. Shea attended Rutgers University and worked as a counselor at The Women’s Resource Center, Keyport. She was predeceased by a daughter, Kelly; a sister, Catherine Beattie; and a brother, James Beattie. Mrs. Shea is survived by her husband of 53 years, Thomas A.; seven sons, Thomas Jr. of Wasilla, Alaska, Michael of Longmont, Colo., Mark of Tinton Falls, James of Rumson, Timothy of Shrewsbury, Peter of Berkeley Heights and Terrence of Fairfield, Conn.; two daughters, Gail Milne of Middletown and Tara Stevens of Shrewsbury; a sister, Theresa Trinkle of Whiting; 13 grandchildren; and she was expecting a great-grandchild to be born this month. A memorial service was held at St. James Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank. Interment of cremated remains took place at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Middletown. Memorial donations may be made to The Center for Hospice Care at Monmouth Medical Center, Attn.: Barbara Eklund, 300 Second Ave., Floor CW-6, Long Branch 07740.

IDA F. (née STRANO) LUTZ, 89, of Holmdel died Aug. 26 at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Born in Keyport, she had lived there and in Union Beach before moving to Holmdel eight years ago. She was a homemaker. She was a communicant of St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, Keyport. She was predeceased by her husband, Spencer R., who died in 1978; two daughters, Kathy Yard in 1993 and Rosalie LeMond in 1977; and two brothers, Mario Strano in 1996 and Salvatore Strano in 1997. Surviving are four daughters, Pauline Hinds of Keyport, Florence Phillips and Carmen Lutz, both of Florida, and Palma May Olcheski of Keansburg; three sisters, Josephine Banafato of Matawan, Mary Barricelli of Keansburg and Irene Holtz of California; 24 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren. A funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Joseph’s Church, followed by interment in Shoreland Memorial Gardens, Hazlet.

JEAN M. O’NEILL, 82, of Hazlet died Aug. 24 at Bishop Gray Inn Nursing Home, Davenport, Fla. Born in Jersey City, she had lived in Union Beach before moving to Hazlet 39 years ago. She was a member of the Union Gardens Fire Auxiliary, Union Beach, and the Margate Florida Clubhouse. She was predeceased by two brothers, Stanley Piskowski and Chester Piskowski. She is survived by her husband, Patrick J.; three sons, Patrick of Fort Myers, Fla., Larry of Glenn Gardens and Ronnie of West Long Branch; three daughters, Ellen J. Pollard of Prosperity, S.C., Maureen O’Neill-Sacher of Hazlet, and Debbie Knaus of Lake Hamilton, Fla.; three sisters, Helen Weidell of Kearny, Josie Balsomo of West Virginia, and Irene Rossmell of Florida; a brother, Frank Piskowski of Georgia; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.. A funeral liturgy was celebrated at Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, Union Beach. Interment was at St. Joseph’s Mausoleum, Keyport.

JESSE O. PETTYJOHN SR., 75, of Matawan died Aug. 26 at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Born in Winston-Salem, N.C., he had been a resident of Matawan for the past 37 years. He worked for General Motors, Linden, for 35 years. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and an Air Force veteran of the Korean War. He was a communicant of St. Benedict’s Roman Catholic Church, Holmdel; and a member of the Knights of Columbus and Washington Engine Company, both in Matawan. He was predeceased by a daughter, Catherine Pleiman, in 1994. He is survived by his wife, Rose Marie Masia Pettyjohn; three sons, Michael M., Jesse O. Jr. and Marcus A.C. Pettyjohn Sr.; four daughters, Mary F. Pettyjohn, Grace A. Kelly, Honora C. Pettyjohn and Roselyn A. Tsamas; 19 grandchildren; and one sister. A funeral Mass was offered at St. Benedict’s Church. Entombment was in St. Joseph’s Mausoleum.

ANGELA M. MORGAN, 73, of Carneys Point died Aug. 8 at Salem Memorial Hospital, Carneys Point. Born in Jersey City, she lived in West Trenton and Hazlet for 25 years, moving to Carneys Point six years ago. She was employed at F.W. Lords, Newark and New York City, for 12 years, retiring in 1959 to be a homemaker. She was predeceased by her husband, Gerard H. Morgan Sr. She is survived by her son, Gerard Morgan Jr. of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; and two grandchildren.

IRMA METSGER, 95, of Connelly Springs, N.C., formerly of Red Bank and Keyport, died Aug. 9 at Hospice Shytle House, Valdese, N.C. She was born in Springfield, Colo. She was a homemaker. Prior to that, she was a nurse’s aide. She was a member of the Evangelical Methodist Church, Rutherford College, N.C. She was predeceased by a daughter, Judith Carolyn Steward; and a son, Donald Leonard Metsger. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Alfred E. and Bertha Metsger of Connelly Springs; her son-in-law, Gerald Stewart of Connelly Springs; her daughter-in-law, Betty Metsger of Sun City, Ariz.; 14 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at Evangelical Methodist Church. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Burke County, P.O. Box 1029, Valdese, NC 28690.

JOHN J. "JOHNNY" TRABACHINO, 79, of the Cliffwood section of Aberdeen died Aug. 1 in Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. He was the owner of Trabachino Agency Real Estate and Insurance Co. Inc., Cliffwood, for the past 52 years. His wife, Rose Izzeralli Trabachino, died in 1994. Surviving are three sons, Gennaro "Jan," Gary and Leon Paul Trabachino, all of Keyport; three sisters, Lucy Trabachino of Elizabeth, Gertrude Chirico of the Colonia section of Woodbridge and Mildred Pompliano of Marshfield, Mass.; and five grandchildren. A Mass was offered at St. Joseph’s Church, Keyport. Interment was in the church cemetery.
