MARILYN ANN PATTON, 75, of Middletown died Aug. 31 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in New York City, she had lived in Larchmont, N.Y., before moving to Middletown 34 years ago. Mrs. Patton was a communicant of St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church and attended the Adoration Chapel, both of New Monmouth. Mrs. Patton was predeceased by her husband, George. Surviving are two daughters, Mary Ann Mergenthaler of Freehold and Colleen E. Patton of Asbury; a brother, Robert J. Bush of Horsham, Pa.; and two grandchildren. A funeral liturgy was celebrated at St. Rose of Lima Chapel, Freehold, followed by interment in Fairview Cemetery, Middletown. G.B. "BILL" MOLLAR, 89, of Middletown died Aug. 11 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. He was a Middletown resident since 1952. He was a mechanical engineer at Industrial Process Engineers, Newark, for 15 years, retiring in 1977. He received his bachelor’s of science degree in engineering from Newark College of Engineering. He was predeceased by his wife, Martha Hargan Hollar, in 1999. He is survived by two sons, Bruce B. Hollar of Midlothian, Va., and Douglass S. Hollar of Galveston, Texas. ANNABELLE DAILEY LEHMANN DWIGHT, 77, of the Lincroft section of Middletown died Aug. 12 at home. She lived in the Port Monmouth section prior to moving to Lincroft two years ago. She was a security guard at Middletown High School North from 1973-83. Prior to that, she was employed at Howard Johnson’s Motor Lodge, Middletown; Lily Tulip, Holmdel; and Bell Telephone, Newark. She participated in United Service Organization (USO) tours during World War II, and was a founder of the Middletown Drum and Bugle Corps. She was predeceased by her son, William Dailey Jr., in 1980. She is survived by three daughters and one son-in-law, Linda Dailey of Port Monmouth, Cynthia Dolansky of Lincroft, and Maureen "Mickey" and Vince Acerra of Red Bank; and four grandchildren. Burial was at Hollywood Memorial Park Cemetery, Union.
CARLOS G. ROMAN, 69, of Hazlet died Aug. 12 at home. He was born in Peru. He worked as a doorman in New York City for 30 years, retiring in 1993. He was predeceased by his father, Juan Roman. He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Estrella R. Richter Roman of Hazlet; six daughters, Amalia Roman de Eden, Carmen Roman and Teresa Roman de Gamarra, all of Lima, Peru, Esperonza Roman of Union, Rossana Roman de Peace of Neptune City, and Marina Roman de Pittelli of Hazlet; a son, Carlos Roman of New York City; his mother, Guillermina Roman Vizcardo of Lima; two brothers, Hector Calle of New York City, and Miguel Calle of Paterson; and six grandchildren. A funeral liturgy was offered at Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, Union Beach.
JOHN J. TRAHIM, 86, of Millstone died Aug. 13 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Born in Matawan, he lived in Marlboro and in Jackson for 20 years before moving to Millstone. He was a body man at General Motors Auto Assembly Plant, Linden, for more than 34 years, retiring in 1973. He was a member of the Oakshades baseball team and was the manager of several other minor league teams in the Keyport/Matawan area. He is survived by his wife, Kathryn; four daughters and sons-in-law, Jean and Mike Palocin of Jackson, Catherine and Kenneth Dietrich of Matawan, Elizabeth and Steven Seminara of Wacabuc, N.Y., and Sue and Peter Kudrick of Millstone; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. A funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Rose of Lima Chapel, Freehold, followed by interment in St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold Township.
The Rev. NICOLO LODO, 66, died July 19 in Italy. Born in Italy, he resided in Bogota, Colombia, prior to moving to the United States. He served in various churches as a pastor, and was a seminary teacher in Genoa, Italy, from 1993 until his death. He was the first pastor at Jesus the Lord Roman Catholic Church, Keyport, from 1973-93. Prior to that, he was a member of the Consolata Missionary Order and served as a missionary for 15 years in Bogota. He is survived by his sister, Anna Marie, and two brothers, Arturo and Lino, all of Italy. A memorial will take place at Jesus the Lord Church, Keyport, with the date to be determined.
JOHN McKAY, 74, of the Port Monmouth section of Middletown died Aug. 16 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in Port Monmouth, he was a lifelong resident. He worked as a custodian for the Middletown Board of Education for 30 years, retiring in 1991. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a former member of the Port Monmouth First Aid Squad. He was predeceased by a son, John F. McKay Jr., in 1957. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Betty Stevenson McKay of Port Monmouth; two daughters, MaryAnn McKay of Port Monmouth, and Patricia Sak of Keansburg; two sons, James F. McKay and Robert J. McKay, both of Port Monmouth; two brothers, Robert McKay of Orlando, Fla., and Joseph McKay of Deland, Fla.; two sisters, Margaret Gillette of Whiting, and Eileen Stevenson of Keansburg; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandson. Entombment was at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Middletown.
CRAIG S. GOODLINE, 25, of Middletown died Aug. 18 at home. Born in Red Bank, he resided in Middletown most of his life. He was an inventory control person at Nextel Distribution, Piscataway, the past five years. He was predeceased by his parents, Charles F. and Cesira Cucinelli Goodline. He is survived by two brothers, John Goodline of Middletown, and Eric Goodline of Colorado; two uncles, John Goodline of Sunrise, Fla., and Ralph and his wife Barbara Cucinelli of the Lincroft section of Middletown; and four aunts, Evelyn and husband Al Lopez of Bradley Beach, Eileen and husband William Brunt Sr. of Middletown, Eleanor and husband John Hayes of Whiting, and Kathy and husband John Gray of Highlands. Entombment was at Fair View Cemetery, Middletown.
CHARLES S. ADUBATO, 51, of the Locust section of Middletown died Aug. 19 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in Newark, he resided in Locust the past 33 years. He was co-owner and civil trial litigator at Newell and Adubato Law Offices, Red Bank, Middletown, Freehold and Ocean Township, the past 23 years. During his tenure, he was instrumental in passing the Good Samaritan Law in New Jersey. He also worked for the Monmouth County Sheriff’s Office, Freehold, since 1991, and owned Adubato Title Company, Freehold. He served with the U.S. Marines during the Vietnam War. He was a communicant of St. Catherine’s Roman Catholic Church, North Middletown. He was predeceased by his father, Charles Adubato in 1987. HE is survived by his mother, Annette T. Adubato of Middletown; his sister, Cheryl Adubato of Middletown; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral liturgy was offered at St. Catherine’s Roman Catholic Church, Middletown. Entombment was at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Middletown.
RUTH McELROY, 97, of Keyport died Aug. 19 at home. Born in Newark, she lived there until moving to Keyport 11 years ago. She was a telephone operator at the Veteran’s Administration Hospital, East Orange, for more than 20 years, retiring in 1980. She was a member of the Bayshore Hospital Auxiliary, Holmdel; and a volunteer at Clara Moss, Belleville. She was predeceased by her husband, Bernard McElroy, in 1939, and a son, Bernard McElroy Jr., in 1974. She is survived by two daughters, June Stark of Keyport, and Dorothy Banahan of Glen Ridge; a son, Malcolm McElroy of Mebene, N.C.; 14 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at St. Lawrence Roman Catholic Church, Laurence Harbor. Interment
