William V. Ferro
Mr. Ferro, 96, of Red Bank, died Oct. 5 at home. He resided in Red Bank most of his life. He was a part-time barber at Lenny’s Village Barber Shop, Oceanport. Prior to that, he was a barber for more than 75 years, and master barber and owner and operator of the Officers’ Barber Shop, Fort Monmouth, Eatontown. He served with the National Guard and was discharged as a sergeant. He was a communicant of St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank. He was a past member of the Garabaldi Society. He was predeceased by a brother, Rafael Ferro; and two sisters, Ann Citarella and Mary Deponti. He is survived by his wife of 75 years, Theresa; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Rosemarie and Joseph McDonald off Middletown, Filomena and John Josko, of Ocean Township, and Teresa Mufara, of Brick; 12 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. Grace C. Larson
Mrs. Larson, of Eatontown, died Oct. 6 at home. She resided in Keansburg before moving to Eatontown 52 years ago. Mrs. Larson was a homemaker. She was a communicant of St. Dorothea’s Roman Catholic Church, Eatontown. She was predeceased by two brothers; and two sisters. Mrs. Larson is survived by her husband of 53 years, Robert W. Larson Sr.; two sons, John R Larson of Freehold and Robert W. Larson Jr. of Tinton Falls; a sister, Christine Paris of Eatontown; and two grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial

Freda Rosenberg Schneider
Mrs. Schneider, 79, of Little Silver, died Sept. 23 at New York Hospital. Born in Trenton, she relocated to Little Silver in 1959. Mrs. Schneider was a former Democratic committeewoman in Little Silver, a member of the Little Silver Democratic Club, and was active in her son’s mayoral campaigns in Long Branch. She was predeceased by her husband, Elliot Schneider, in 1999. Mrs. Schneider is survived by a daughter, Rebecca Meiklejohn, of New York City; two sons and daughters-in-law, Mayor Adam and Pat Schneider, Long Branch, and Daniel and Linda Schneider, Irvington, N.Y.; a brother, Jack Rosenberg, California; and six grandchildren. Alice Mershon Muller
Mrs. Muller, 86, of Tinton Falls, died Aug. 29 at home. Born in Prospect Plains, she resided in Tinton Falls and Lakewood, prior to moving back to Tinton Falls in 2003. She was the Tinton Falls municipal court clerk, retiring in 1981. Prior to that, she and her husband were the owner and operators of Monmouth Dairy, Tinton Falls, for several years. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, and Order of the Eastern Star. She was predeceased by her husband of 42 years, LeRoy A. Muller in 1981. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Dean P. and Ann Muller of Williamsport, Pa., and Glenn E. and Mary Muller of Urbana, Ill.; a sister, Helen Ely of Burlington; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Frank Emil Stehlik
Mr. Stehlik, 92, of Red Bank, died Sept. 24 in Red Bank. Born in Rockaway Beach, N.Y., he resided in Holmdel for 30 years before moving to Red Bank 12 years ago. Mr. Stehlik was an engineer at Bell Telephone Laboratories, New York City, Murray Hill and Holmdel, where he was employed for more than 40 years before retiring. He was a member of the United Methodist Church of Red Bank. Mr. Stehlik is survived by his wife, Margaret Roberts Stehlik; a daughter and son-in-law, Linda L. Stehlik and John E. McCarthy, of Middletown; and several nieces and nephews. The John E. Day Funeral Home, Red Bank, was in charge of arrangements.
Anna Sarappo
Mrs. Sarappo, 88, of Red Bank died Jan. 14 at Avante at Red Bank. Born in New York City, she resided in Red Bank for most of her life. She was the owner/operator of Park Bar, Rumson, and a distributor for Stanley Home Products. Prior to that, she was a machine operator at Eisner’s, Red Bank, for 30 years, retiring in 1970. She was a communicant of St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank, and a member of the St. Ann Society. She was a member of the Ladies Garment Workers Amalgamated Union and the Red Bank Elks Women’s Auxiliary. Mrs. Sarappo was predeceased by her husband, Frank Sarappo, in 1980; and a sister, Frances Lo Biondo Vetrano. She is survived by two brothers, James Lo Biondo Sr. and Leo Lo Biondo, both of Red Bank; three sisters, Margaret Porto of East Syracuse, N.Y., Lena Falsetti of Miami, and Alice Henderson of San Jose, Calif.; and several nieces and nephews. James Nelson
Mr. Nelson, 72, of Freehold died Jan. 17 at home. Born in Newark, he resided in Manalapan and in Sidney, Australia, before moving to Freehold five years ago. He was president and owner of J. Nelson Printing, Freehold, for more than 25 years. Prior to that, he owned a printing business in Red Bank. Mr. Nelson is survived by two daughters, Alice Nelson of Oceanport and Susan Bookout of San Diego, Calif.; a brother and sister-in-law, Joseph and Janet Nelson of Oceanport; and one granddaughter. Nora T. Lyne Leo
Mrs. Leo, 87, of Rumson died Jan. 16 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in County Kerry, Ireland, she resided in Rumson the past 65 years. She was a homemaker. She was a communicant of Holy Cross Roman Catholic Church, Rumson. She performed volunteer work for the March of Dimes and Muscular Dystrophy. She enjoyed time with her family, charity work and the beach. She was predeceased by her husband, James M. Leo Jr. in 1977; four sisters, Helena Lyne, Mary Murphy, Margaret Nash and Sheila Mulkeen; and six brothers, Daniel, Richard, John, Jeremiah, Philip and Michael Lyne. She is survived by two sons and one daughter-in-law, James and Patricia D. Leo III, and Robert E. Leo, all of Rumson; her daughter, Audrey M. Edward C. Freeman
Mr. Freeman, 57, of Middletown died Jan. 17 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. He was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. Mr. Freeman was a police officer for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, retiring in 1994. He was a corporal of the guards with the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War and received the Purple Heart. He was an active member of the Red Bank Elks Club. Mr. Freeman is survived by his wife of 35 years, Maureen Freeman; two daughters and sons-in-law, Debra and Norman Chopp of Atlantic Highlands, and Patricia and Mark Caruso of Red Bank; a sister and brother-in-law, Margaret and Glenn La Rue of Manchester; three grandchildren; and four nephews. Harold R. Ford
Mr. Ford, 64, of Manchester died Jan. 3 at Meridian Hospice, Brick, following a battle with lymphoma. Born in Perth Amboy, he resided in Woodbridge, Little Silver, and Wilmington, N.C., before moving to Manchester four years ago. Mr. Ford was a senior sales engineer at Barden Corp., Danbury, Conn., for 30 years, retiring in 2001. He was a member of St. Mary of the Lake Roman Catholic Church, Lakewood. He is survived by his wife, Jacqueline Campbell Ford; two sons and daughters-in-law, Douglas H. and Kim Daraghy Ford of Aberdeen, and John R. and JoAnn Healy Ford of Red Bank; a sister, Mary Jane Ford of California; and one grandson. William H. Tichenor
Mr. Tichenor, 77, of West Grove, Pa., died Dec. 26 at Christiana Hospital, Newark, Del. Born in Jersey City, he spent his early years in Matawan. Mr. Tichenor was a division director of Hercules Inc. and a partner in Radiant Color Co., Richmond, Calif. After graduating from Matawan High School, he served in the U.S. Navy. He was a 1949 graduate of Lehigh University, Bethlehem, Pa., where he earned a degree in industrial engineering. Mr. Tichenor was predeceased by his first wife, Joyce Ruth Johnson Tichenor, in 1993. He is survived by his wife, Doris L. Wood Tichenor; a stepdaughter and her husband, Cynthia and Alex Russell of New Canaan, Conn.; and a sister and brother-in-law, Ann and H. Robert Carter of Little Silver. A graveside service will be held March 13 at Longwood Cemetery, Kennett Square, Pa. The Foulk Funeral Home Inc., West Grove, Pa., is in charge of arrangements.
Gilbert "Gibby" W. Boyer Jr.
Mr. Boyer, 73, of Rumson died Dec. 25 at home. He was born and raised in Sea Bright before moving to Rumson, where he lived for the past 46 years. Mr. Boyer graduated from Long Branch High School and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was employed in retail liquor sales and was a well-known local bartender during his retirement. He was a member of the Sea Bright and Rumson fire departments. He played baseball on numerous teams and was a well-known third baseman. Mr. Boyer is survived by his wife of 47 years, Catherine Pomphrey Boyer; two sons and daughters-in-law, Brian and Rebecca Boyer, and Robert and Carol Boyer, all of Rumson; a daughter and son-in-law, Catherine and Todd Roser of Atlantic Highlands; a brother, James Boyer of Fort Monmouth; a sister, Anna Mae Krivas of Fort Meyers, Fla.; and seven grandchildren. Services were held at John E. Day Funeral Home, Red Bank, followed by interment at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Middletown.
