ARLENE G. PLUNKETT, 80, of the Navesink section of Middletown died March 27 at King James Care Center, Middletown. Born in Newark, she lived in Kearny, Washington Township and Toms River prior to moving to Navesink in 1998. She was a comptometer operator for Congoleum Nairn, Kearny, retiring in 1971. She was a communicant of Christ Episcopal Church, Harrison. She was a member of the Eastern Star of New Jersey, Nutley chapter. She was predeceased by her husband, Elmer Plunkett in 1988; and her brother, Tom Greatorex. She is survived by her daughter, Geraldine Stewart of Florida; her brother, Ronald Greatorex of Middletown; her sister, Ethel Walsh of Brick; her stepdaughter, Debbie Smith of Nutley; and four grandchildren.
ROBERT M. BROWN, 64, of Keyport died March 28 at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Born in Kearny, he resided in Union Beach prior to moving to Keyport 33 years ago. He was a serviceman for Elizabethtown Gas Co. for 35 years, retiring in 1998. He was a life member of the Union Beach First Aid Squad. He is survived by his wife, Rose Infanti of Keyport; his son, Robert M. Brown Jr. of Keyport; two daughters, Lisa Brown of Sea Bright, and Michelle Araneo of Keyport; and three grandchildren. Entombment was at St. Joseph’s Mausoleum, Keyport.
MARGARET DOBSON, 94, of Middletown died March 29 at her daughter’s home in Middletown. Born in New York City, she lived in Naples, Fla., for 25 years, and Atlantic Highlands prior to moving to Middletown four years ago. She was a secretary for Fort Monmouth, Eatontown, for 18 years, retiring in 1970. She was predeceased by her husband, Edwin J. Dobson in 1983; a daughter, Jane Woodward; and a son, Thomas Dobson. She is survived by two daughters, Nancy Horan of Middletown, and Robin Dobson of New York City; two sons and daughters-in-law, Edwin and Carol Dobson of Middletown, and Raymond and Joanne Dobson of East Orleans, Mass.; 15 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. A funeral liturgy was offered at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, New Monmouth section of Middletown. Burial was at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Middletown.
MARY A. YOHO FERRARA, 92, of Middletown died March 29 at Arnold Walter Nursing Home, Holmdel. Born in Jersey City, she resided there until moving to Middletown 60 years ago. She was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Catherine’s Roman Catholic Church, North Middletown, since its existence. She was predeceased by her husband, Nicholas Ferrara in 1991. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Frank and Jean Ferrara of Hazlet; two daughters and sons-in-law, Eileen and John Gannon of Kill Devil Hills, N.C., and Margaret and Henry Reimer of Pompano Beach, Fla.; her sister, Agnes Hunter of Hazlet; 10 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. A funeral liturgy was offered at St. Catherine’s Roman Catholic Church, North Middletown. Interment
was at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Middletown.
FLORENCE C. THOMPSON, 81, of Hazlet died March 29 at Bayshore Health Care Center, Holmdel. Born in West Hoboken, she lived in Union City prior to moving to Hazlet two years ago. She was a homemaker. She was predeceased by her husband, George M. Thompson in 1985; and her great-grandson, George W. Thompson. She is survived by two sons and one daughter-in-law, George and Virginia Thompson of Hazlet, and Edward Thompson of Davie, Fla.; her mother-in-law, Gladys Thompson of Keansburg; her brother, Edward Feder of Englewood; two sisters, Madeline DiDonato of Englewood, and Elsie Thurlow; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Burial was at Fair View Cemetery, Middletown.
EDWARD F. PULLIS, 34, of Hazlet died Sept. 11 after the terrorist attacks at the World Trade Center, New York City. Born in Staten Island, he resided there until moving to Hazlet two years ago. He was a consultant for AON, New York City, for the last 3.5 years. He was predeceased by his father, Joseph A. Pullis in 1997. He is survived by his mother, Tina Pullis of Brooklyn, N.Y.; his wife, Melissa Pullis of Hazlet; two sons and one daughter, Anthony, Edward and Mariafrances Pullis, all at home; and two sisters, Josephine Krnican of Manalapan, and Anna Maria Bocchino of Middletown. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, Union Beach. Interment
was at Holmdel Cemetery.
MARY DeMARCO, 70, of Millstone died March 23 at home. She was born in Brooklyn and resided there most of her life before moving to Millstone. She was predeceased by her husband, Santo, in 1983. Surviving are three sons an two daughters-in-law, Frank and Debra of Millstone; Salvador and Diane of Holmdel; and Joseph of Clinton. A Mass was offered at St. Bartholomew’s Church, East Brunswick. was in St. John’s Cemetery, Queens, N.Y.
ANGELINA LIM, 45, of Holmdel died April 2 at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. She was born in Quezon City, The Philippines. She was a homemaker. She is survived by her father, Valeriano Lim; her mother, Mercedes Flavier; her brother, Manuel Lim; and six sisters, Vivian Saafan, Lilian Lim, Nanita Lim-Sulit, Josephine Lim, Maria Flor-Lim and Theresa Lim. was at Holy Cross Memorial Cemetery, The Philippines.
ROSE MARZELLA, 84, of Keansburg died April 4 at Bayside Manor, Keansburg. Born in Newark, she lived in the West Keansburg section of Hazlet prior to moving to Keansburg 42 years ago. She was a homemaker. She was predeceased by her brother, Al Landisi in 2000. She is survived by her husband, John F. Marzella of Keansburg; two daughters and sons-in-law, Roselyn and Robert MacNeil of the Leonardo section of Middletown, and Camille and Frank McDonald of Atlantic Highlands; her sister, Teresa DelSordi of Red Bank; and four grandchildren. A funeral liturgy was offered at St. Ann’s Roman Catholic Church, Keansburg, followed by interment at Fair View Cemetery, Middletown.
WILLIAM R. BIGGIN, 61, of Jackson died April 3 at Community Medical Center, Toms River. He was a patrolman for the Union Beach Police Department and then worked for IFF in Union Beach until his retirement in 1985. He was an avid hunter. Surviving are his wife, Shirley Bopp-Biggin of Jackson; a son, William M. Biggin of the Belford section of Middletown; a daughter, Lori Biggin of Middletown; a sister, Gail Farrell of Union Beach; and two grandchildren.
