RITA A. BOYLE, 58, of Hazlet died March 7 at home. Born in Jersey City, she lived in Union Beach and the Belford section of Middletown prior to moving to Hazlet 10 years ago. She was a retired executive secretary for International Flavors and Fragrances, Hazlet, where she worked for 20 years. She also worked as a secretary for the law firm of Drazin and Warshaw, Red Bank. She was a communicant of St. Catherine’s Roman Catholic Church, Middletown. She was predeceased by her father, Frank Boyle. She is survived by her daughter, Letitia Gutjahr of Jupiter, Fla.; two sons and daughters-in-law, John and Barbara Gutjahr of New York, and Steven and Maria Gutjahr of Tallahassee, Fla.; her brother, Frank Marion of Atlantic Highlands; her mother, Emma Freer Marion of Atlantic Highlands; and four grandchildren. A funeral liturgy was offered at St. Catherine’s Roman Catholic Church, Middletown.

ALICE M. WALSH, 88, of Keyport died March 7 at Laurelton Village Care Center, Brick. Born in South Amboy, she resided in Florida prior to moving to Keyport in 1978. She was a homemaker. She was predeceased by her husband, Albert J. Walsh in 1986; and her brother, Martin Spafford in 1978. She is survived by three sons and one daughter-in-law, Charles and Isabelle F. Walsh of Brick, Raymond J. Walsh of Keyport, and Michael B. Walsh of Lauderdale Lakes, Fla.; two brothers, James E. Spafford of Union Beach, and Louis F. Spafford of Keyport; four grandchildren; and three great-granddaughters. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, Keyport. Interment was at Shoreland Memorial Gardens, Hazlet. Memorial donations may be made to Garden State Hospice, 70 Jackson Drive, Cranford 07016; or Alzheimer’s Association, Greater New Jersey Chapter, 400 Morris Ave., Denville 07834.

STANLEY B. COPEMAN, 73, of the Port Monmouth section of Middletown died March 2 at home. Born in Lahora, India, he lived in London, England, prior to moving to Middletown Township in 1960. He was a maintenance supervisor for Brookdale Community College, Lincroft section of Middletown, for 21 years, retiring in 1994. He was a communicant of St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, New Monmouth section of Middletown. He was a member of the Irish Federation of Monmouth County. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Elizabeth Gaynor Copeman of Port Monmouth; two sons and daughters-in-law, John and Lisa Copeman of Aberdeen, and Brian and Sheri Copeman of Port Monmouth; two grandsons and his granddaughter. A funeral gathering will be March 6 at 9:15 a.m. at John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown. A funeral liturgy will follow at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, New Monmouth. Entombment will be at Holmdel Mausoleum. Memorial donations may be made to VNA Hospice, 1100 Wayside Road, Tinton Falls 07712.

JOHN R. HAMMOND SR., 78, of Old Bridge died Feb. 22 at home. Surviving are his wife, Hennie Pedalino Hammond; a son, John R. Jr. of Union; five daughters, Brenda Cantor of West Windsor, Sharon Macre of Freehold, Gail Drysdale of Helmetta, Valerie Nugent of Spotswood and Cindy Markus of East Windsor; three sisters, Grace Danchesi of North Bergen and Violet Tomasetti and Florie Monico, both of Middletown; and seven grandchildren. Services were held at Brunswick Memorial Home, East Brunswick. Interment was in Oaklawn Memorial Park, South Brunswick.

WALTER POCHOPIN, 71, of the Cliffwood Beach section of Aberdeen died Feb. 13 at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Born in Newark, he resided there until moving to Cliffwood Beach 41 years ago. He was head custodian for Old Bridge Board of Education at Madison Park Elementary School for 23 years, retiring in 1998. He served with the U.S. Army from 1948-52, and was awarded the Good Conduct Medal. He was a communicant of St. Lawrence Roman Catholic Church, Laurence Harbor. He was a member of Keyport-Matawan Elks Lodge No. 2030 for the past six years. He was predeceased by his sister, Helen Lamberti; and six brothers, Joseph, Stanley, Teddy, Ziggy, John "Billy" and Casey Pochopin. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Rita Bellas-Pochopin of Cliffwood Beach; his daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Neal Nilsen of Keyport; his son and daughter-in-law, Daniel C. Pochopin and Denise Przybylko Pochopin of Monroe; his brother, Steven "Stevie" Pochopin of Jensen Beach, Fla.; two granddaughters; and several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at St. Lawrence Roman Catholic Church, Laurence Harbor. Entombment was at Sacred Heart Cemetery Mausoleum, Parlin.

MICHEL ANN TORRES, 36, of Keansburg died Feb. 14 in Keyport. Born in Marlboro, Mass., she lived in Freehold before moving to Keansburg four years ago. She was a data entry clerk for Answercom, Perth Amboy, and had worked as an assistant in human services at Marlboro Psychiatric Hospital, Marlboro. She is survived by a son, Edgar Torres of Putnam, Conn.; a daughter, Toni Marie Infante of Freehold; four brothers, Donald Fairthorne of Enfield, Conn., Russell Fairthorne of Green Bay, Wis., Arthur Fairthorne of Putnam and Thomas J. Fairthorne of Jackson; two sisters, Deborah Parks of Wrightstown and Rita Rudai of Robbinsville; a granddaughter; and her fiancé, Tyronne D. Wise of Keansburg. Interment took place at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold Township.

FLORENCE L. SARACCO, 86, of Spring Lake Heights died Feb. 15 at Medicenter, Neptune City. Born in New York City, she lived in North Bergen prior to moving to Spring Lake Heights in 1998. During her career, she worked as a bookkeeper for WOR radio, New York City. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Roman Catholic Church, North Bergen. She was predeceased by her grandniece, Jennifer Schlogl in 1999. She is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Yolanda and John Schlogl of Virginia; her nephew and his wife, John G. and Margaret Schlogl Jr. of the Lincroft section of Middletown; and her grandnephew, Jeffrey Schlogl of Lincroft. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at St. Leo the Great Roman Catholic Church, Lincroft. Interment was at Fairview Cemetery, Fairview. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 2550 Route 1, North Brunswick 08902-4301.

HELEN DOLAN, 60, of Middletown died Feb. 26 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in Kearny, she lived in Harrison before to moving to Middletown seven years ago. She was a secretary for the law firm of Dunne & Thompson, Kearny. Prior to that, she was a billing clerk for Lindal Electronics, Newark, for 25 years. She was a communicant and Perpetual Adorer of St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, New Monmouth section of Middletown. Her memberships included the American Cancer Society, Shrewsbury; the Socializers of Shadow Lake, Middletown; and the Oak Hellers bowling league, Fort Monmouth. She was predeceased by her parents, Hugh Mullin and Catherine Duffy; and her sister, Margaret Clark. She is survived by three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Ann Walsh of Toms River, Kathleen and George Roman of Closter, and Veronica and Thomas Fulcher of North Arlington; a brother and sister-in-law, William and Peggy Dolan of the Leonardo section of Middletown; and two brothers-in-law, Francis Clarke of Old Bridge, and Angelo Pennachio of Columbus. A funeral liturgy was offered at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, New Monmouth. Entombment was at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Middletown. AMELIA M. LEPICK, 90, of Holmdel died Feb. 26 at home. Born in Keyport, she lived in Brooklyn, N.Y., prior to moving to Holmdel 36 years ago. She was a retired practical nurse for Brookdale Hospital, Brooklyn, where she worked for 30 years. She served with the U.S. Army Women’s Army Corp during World War II as a technician 5th class. She was a communicant of St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, New Monmouth section of Middletown. She is survived by her brother, Michael Menosky of Holmdel; and two sisters, Veronica Stanick of Mount Juliet, Tenn., and Mary Hubert of Brooklyn. A funeral liturgy was offered at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, New Monmouth. Entombment was at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Middletown. Memorial donations may be made to St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, 26 Leonardville Road, New Monmouth 07748.

LOUIS J. ALBANESE, 80, of Holmdel died Feb. 27 at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Born in South Amboy, he resided there until moving to Holmdel two years ago. He was a retired employee of Hercules Inc., Sayreville. He served with the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He was a member of St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, South Amboy. He was predeceased by his sister, Amelia M. Albanese in 1998. He is survived by his brother, Frank J. Albanese of South Amboy; two sisters, Mary M. Jablonski of South Amboy, and Anna M. Trzaska of South River; and eight nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at St. Mary’s Church, South Amboy. Interment was at St. Mary’s Cemetery, East Brunswick.
