Edward Scholtz
Mr. Scholtz, 81, of the Oakhurst section of Ocean Township, died March 29 at home. Born in Newark, he resided in South Dakota before moving to Oakhurst in 1967. Mr. Scholtz was club officer at Lakehurst Naval Air Station, retiring in 1972. Prior to that, he managed military clubs with the U.S. Air Force for 20 years. He served with the U.S. Army as a medic during World War II, and was recalled to active duty during the Korean War. He was a parishioner of St. Jerome Roman Catholic Church, West Long Branch. He was a volunteer at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch, for several years. He received numerous awards for his volunteer work, including the Monmouth County Volunteer of the Year, the Monmouth Medical Clara Field Award, and the Monmouth Park Community Service Award. Mr. Scholtz was predeceased by his wife, Wilma G. Wickmen Scholtz, in 2000. He is survived by a son, Edward Scholtz of Oceanport; a daughter, Barbara Miller of the Morganville section of Marlboro; a brother, Robert Scholtz of California; two sisters, Hilda Schmidt of Mountainside and Elizabeth Preusse of the Wayside section of Ocean Township; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Henry Fred Dreeke Jr.
Mr. Dreeke, 83, of Fair Haven died March 8 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in Long Branch, he resided in Oceanport before moving to Fair Haven. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, earning several medals of achievement. He worked as an auto detailer for Rassas Pontiac, Red Bank, before retiring 20 years ago. He was a member of the Red Bank Masonic Temple and a life member of the West Long Branch American Legion. He was predeceases by his parents, Henry Sr. and Frances. Surviving are two sisters, Dorothy Forsman of Rumson, and Edna Miller of Red Bank; two nieces; and one nephew. A funeral service was held at Trinity Episcopal Church, West Front Street, Red Bank.
Robert M. Castronova
Mr. Castronova, 42, of Sea Bright died April 5 at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. Born in the Bronx, N.Y., he resided in Hazlet prior to moving to Sea Bright 15 years ago. He was a computer programmer at various local companies. Prior to that, he was a computer programmer at AT&T, Middletown, for 15 years. He was the president and New Jersey director of the PT Cruisers Club. He enjoyed time with his family. Mr. Castronova was predeceased by his parents, Angelo and Antoinette Cecere Castronova. He is survived by his wife, Judy Williams Castronova; three sisters and one brother-in-law, Carol Banks, Joanne and Bill Cooley, and Layla Lewis; one niece; and one nephew. Arrangements were by Day Funeral Home, Keyport.
Agnes Pender Ambrose
Mrs. Ambrose, 84, of Oceanport died April 3 at Monmouth Care Center, Long Branch. She was born in Ayer, Mass. Mrs. Ambrose was a homemaker. She enjoyed time with her family. She was predeceased by her husband, Marshall P. Ambrose, in 1990; and several brothers and sisters. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, James and Vicki Ambrose of Defiance, Mo.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Judith and Robert Brummer of Oceanport, and Margaret and Dennis Schweikhardt of Spokane, Wash.; a sister, Patricia Weger of Durant Okla..; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Leah Lorenza Acuna
Leah Acuna, 16, of Little Silver died March 24. She resided in Rumson prior to moving to Little Silver in 1995. She was a student at Red Bank Regional High School, Little Silver, where she was a member of its junior varsity field hockey and basketball teams. Leah enjoyed photography, and played the cello, tuba and bass guitar. She is survived by her parents, Nino R. and Vanna Borden Acuna, and a brother and sister, Jason V. and Elena M. Acuna, all of Little Silver. A funeral service was held at Embury United Methodist Church, Little Silver, followed by interment at Fair View Cemetery, Middletown. Robert Eigenrauch Sr.
Mr. Eigenrauch, 89, of Middletown died March 5 at Avante at Red Bank. Born in Middletown, he was a lifelong resident. Mr. Eigenrauch was the owner/operator of Eigenrauch Farms, Middletown, until 1985. He served with the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was predeceased by his wife, Barbara Smith Eigenrauch, in 2001; and a brother, Herbert W. Eigenrauch, in 1993. He is survived by a son, Robert Eigenrauch Jr. of New Egypt; a daughter, Jane Eigenrauch of Middletown; two brothers, Henry Eigenrauch Jr. of Hobe Sound, Fla., and Christian Eigenrauch Sr. of Morgantown, Iowa; and several nieces and nephews. James W. Hamilton
Mr. Hamilton, 42, of Red Bank/Middletown died on April 1 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. He was born in Belleville and formerly resided in Union Beach before moving to Middletown. Mr. Hamilton was employed as a chef at Jakeabob’s Restaurant, Union Beach. He attended the Culinary Institute of America, New York. Mr. Hamilton was predeceased by his mother, Cecilia Hamilton in 1972. He is survived by a daughter, Megan Lynn Hamilton of Manahawkin; his father, Richard Hamilton of Wall; a brother, Richard Hamilton of St. Cloud, Fla.; a brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Donna Hamilton of Manchester; a sister and brother-in-law, Mary Ellen and Nelson Gaffrey of Wall; and a sister and brother-in-law, Eileen and Bob Pruchnik of Middletown. Loretta Frances Mylott
Mrs. Mylott, 86, of Fair Haven, died Dec. 1 at home. Born in Bayonne, she resided in Fair Haven the past 54 years. She was a saleswoman at the former West End Fabric Store for 19 years. She was a communicant of and member of the Altar Rosary Society at Church of the Nativity, Fair Haven. She enjoyed gardening and walking. She was predeceased by her husband of 22 years, Raymond L. Mylott Sr. in 1965; two brothers, Joseph and Walter; and two sisters, Mary and Ann. She is survived by two sons and one daughter-in-law, Raymond L. and Kathleen Mylott Jr. of New York City, and Martin Mylott of Honolulu; two daughters and sons-in-law, Kathleen and Thomas Londregan of New London, Conn., and Bridget and David Rekow of Sarasota, Fla.; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Adele R. Wegrocki
Mrs. Wegrocki, 84, of Lakewood, died Dec. 13 at Community Hospital, Toms River. She resided in Neptune and Newark prior to moving to Lakewood. She was a homemaker. She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph J. Wegrocki. She is survived by a son, Joseph Wegrocki, of Long Beach, Calif.; two daughters and one son-in-law, Patricia Kennedy, of Red Bank, and Joanne and Richard Sewell, of the Navesink section of Middletown; two sisters, Hedy Neidlinger, of Union, and Dorothy Goich, of Manlius, N.Y.; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Douglas R. Sanderson
Mr. Sanderson, 78, of Red Bank, died Dec. 12 at Meridian Nursing and Rehabilitation of Red Bank. Born in Ossining, N.Y., he resided in Red Bank the past 25 years. He was a retired golf professional at Rumson Country Club, where he was employed 24 years. Prior to that, he was an assistant golf pro at Canoe Brook Country Club, Summit. He served with the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a lifetime member of the Professional Golf Association and enjoyed photography. He was predeceased by his wife, Barbara in 2001. He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Robert L. and Lenore Sanderson of Middletown; a daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Peter Lucyk of Red Bank; a brother and sister-in-law, Allan J. and Marge Sanderson of Osseo, Wis.; and three grandchildren. Frederick Solleder
Mr. Solleder, 53, of Atlantic Highlands, died Dec. 24 at his home. Born in Jersey City, he had lived in the Belford section of Middletown and in Highlands before moving to Atlantic Highlands 10 years ago. Mr. Solleder was a butcher for Foodtown in Atlantic Highlands, where he worked for 30 years. He was predeceased by his mother, Dorothy Solleder. He is survived by his father, Fred Solleder Sr. of Belford; a son, Frederick Solleder of Eatontown; a daughter, Erin Solleder of Delaware; two brothers, Michael Solleder of Philadelphia and Bill Solleder of Ramsey; three sisters, Patricia Boyle of Howell, Beth Brister of Rumson and Linda Dempsey of Highlands; his companion of 20 years, Peggy Byrne of Atlantic Highlands; and several nieces and nephews. Paul H. Rafferty
Mr. Rafferty, 77, of Long Branch, died Jan. 4 at home. He was born in Long Branch. He was an electronic engineer at Fort Monmouth, Eatontown for 30 years, retiring in 1986. He served with the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a parishioner of Star of the Sea Roman Catholic Church, Long Branch. He was a life member of the Independent Fire Company, Long Branch. He enjoyed boating on the Shrewsbury River.
