CARMELLA RUBINO DWYER, 79, of Sayreville died Aug. 28 in Raritan Bay Medical Center, Perth Amboy division. Prior to her retirement in 1975, she was employed as a dietary aid with Brunswick Park Nursing Home, North Brunswick. Her husband, Edward M. Dwyer, died in 1997, and a son, George Baird, died in 1957. Surviving are two sons, John Baird of Belvidere and Joseph Baird of Parsippany; two daughters, Kathleen McMillan of Sayreville and Susan Lesko of Spotswood; a stepson, Edward Dwyer of Kearny; two sisters, Josephine Allis of the Blackwood section of Gloucester and Florence Trento of Florida; 18 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren. Services were held at Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home, Parlin section of Sayreville.
EDWARD A. "GRANNY" GRANKOWSKI, 76, of Sayreville died Aug. 30 in Lenox Hill Hospital, New York City. Prior to his retirement in 1986, he was employed for 34 years at E.I. DuPont Photo Products Division, Parlin section of Sayreville. Surviving are his wife, Marie Lasky Grankowski; a son, Bruce of Sayreville; two daughters, Gayle Tracy and Lisa Grankowski, both of Sayreville; four sisters, Sophie Wolynski of Edison, Veronica Zolnierczyk of Woodbridge, Frances Lessin of Palm Springs, Calif., and Helen Westrol of Edison; four grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews. A Mass was offered at Our Lady of Victories Church, Sayreville. Interment

MARY O’CONNOR KELLY, 68, of South Amboy died Aug. 28 in St. Michael’s Medical Center, Newark. She was the former owner of Pine Liquors, South Amboy. Surviving are her husband, Michael P. Kelly; three sons, Michael Kelly of Old Fort, N.C., Timothy Kelly of South Amboy and Mark Kelly of Clinton; three daughters, Patricia Kelly, Mary Kate Vacca and Ann Kelly, all of South Amboy; a brother, Alfred O’Connor, and a sister, Nancy Kenny, both of South Amboy; and nine grandchildren. A Mass was offered at St. Mary’s Church, South Amboy. Interment
was in Christ Church Cemetery, South Amboy.
JOSEPH N. KOFF, 89, of Old Bridge died Aug. 29 in Victoria Health Care Center, Matawan. Surviving are his wife, Charlotte; two daughters, Elissa Koff of Old Bridge and Shawna Koff of Maynard, Mass.; and a sister, Helen Koff of New York City. A graveside service was held at Mount Sinai Cemetery, Marlboro.
CATHERINE D. SPROULS PARKER, 96, of the Parlin section of Sayreville died Aug. 30 in Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge division. Prior to her retirement in 1973, she was employed for 18 years as an elementary school teacher with the Sayreville Board of Education. Her husband, Arthur A. Parker, died in 1966, and a son, Arthur T. Parker, died in 1999. Surviving are a son, Vincent J. Parker of Hamilton; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. A Mass was offered at St. Mary’s Church, South Amboy. Interment
was in Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington.
BERNARD RAYMOND, 95, of Old Bridge, formerly of Brick and Union, died Sept. 2 in Reformed Church Home, Old Bridge. His wife, Marguerite Raymond, died in 1973. Surviving are a son, Charles Raymond of Scotch Plains; a daughter, Patricia Steiner of Milltown; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. A Mass is planned for 10:30 a.m. on Sept. 5 at St. Peter’s Church, New Brunswick. Interment

MAXINE MAE VARNER, 67, of Old Bridge died Aug. 27 in Old Bridge Manor. Surviving are a brother, Russell Martin Varner Jr. of Radford, Va.; three sisters, Vivian Varner Smith of Dublin, Va., Joyce Ann Varner Pudder of Middleburg, Fla., and Coral Jean Varner Tomaro of Old Bridge; and several nieces and nephews. Services were held at Gundrum Home for Funerals, South Amboy.
EDMUND J. WILLIAMS of East Brunswick died Aug. 28. Prior to his retirement in 1987, he was employed at Lincoln Avenue Motors, Jamesburg. Surviving are his wife, Ellen Devlin Williams; two sons, Mark Williams of Woodbridge and Paul Williams of New Hampshire; and a daughter, Susan Williams of Old Bridge. A memorial Mass was offered at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Old Bridge. Interment
was in Holy Cross Cemetery, Brooklyn, N.Y.
SAMI ZAKI, 77, of East Brunswick died Aug. 27 in Madison Care Center, Old Bridge. Prior to his retirement in 1987, he was an accountant for three years at Sunshine Biscuit, Sayreville. His wife, Claire S. Guirguis Zaki, died in 2002. Surviving are a son, Hani of Lansdale, Pa.; two brothers, Samir of Boston and Dr. F. George Zaki of East Brunswick; three grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Services were held at St. Mary’s Coptic Orthodox Church, East Brunswick. Interment
