THEODORA "TEDDY" BARENTZEN BROWN, 102, of Middletown died May 10 at home. Born in Ossining, N.Y., she resided in Maplewood and Red Bank before moving to Middletown in 1956. Mrs. Brown was a teacher at Red Bank High School, beginning in 1926 and retiring, for a second time, in 1971. She was a member of United Methodist Church, Red Bank. She was predeceased by her husband of 59 years, Robert C. Brown, in 1985; and a son, Robert Theodore Brown, in 1974. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, David S. and Patricia L. Brown of Middletown; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. A memorial service was held at United Methodist Church, Red Bank. KENNETH E. FITZGERALD, 80, of Little Silver died May 7 at Jersey Shore Center, Eatontown. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he resided there prior to moving to Little Silver 46 years ago. Mr. Fitzgerald was retired from Alexander & Alexander, New York City, where he was involved in risk management. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a communicant, usher, bingo worker, and former choir member at St. James Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank. He was a former Boy Scout and Cub Scout leader, and a former soccer coach at St. James School, Red Bank. He was predeceased by his wife of 54 yeas, Laurice A. Jamate Fitzgerald, in August. He is survived by four sons, Stephen Fitzgerald of West Hollywood, Calif., Michael Fitzgerald of Kaneohe, Hawaii, Brian Fitzgerald of Morris Plains, and Gregory Fitzgerald of Hewitt; two daughters, Maureen Grippen of Little Egg Harbor, and Nancy Everett of Purcellville, Va.; his brother, Neil Fitzgerald, and sister-in-law, Elizabeth Fitzgerald; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at St. James Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank. Interment

MARY DiSIBIO ZAMBRANO, 85, of Long Branch died May 16 at home. Born in Canonsburg, Pa., she resided in Long Branch for the past 56 years. She was a medical receptionist for Dr. Ralph P. Ciampa, Dr. Ralph V. Ciampa, and Dr. Arthur Mari, Long Branch. Prior to that, she worked at Fort Pitt Bridgeworks, Canonsburg. She was a communicant of Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, Long Branch, and a lifetime member of its Altar Rosary Society. She was active in the Long Branch school system with the PTA, as well as Brownies, Girl Scouts and Cub Scouts. She was predeceased by her husband of 55 yeas, Armand R. Zambrano Sr., in 2002; and two brothers, Daniel DiSibio and Russell DiSibio. She is survived by her son, Armand R. Zambrano Jr. of Long Branch; two daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Lu and Frank Pingitore of Oceanport, and JoAnne and Richard Collins of Neptune; and four grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered May 23 at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, Long Branch. Interment
will follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery, West Long Branch.
DOMINICK J. GAETANO, 90, of Monmouth Beach, died May 11 at Renaissance Gardens at Seabrook Village, Tinton Falls. Born in New York City, he lived in Bayonne before moving to Monmouth Beach 51 years ago. He was the principal owner of M&G Carting Company, New York City. He was a parishioner of Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, Long Branch. He was a member of UNICO, the Italian American Men’s Association (IAMA), Long Branch, and past member of the Monmouth Beach Planning Board. He was predeceased by two sisters, Isabel Forino and Marie Connell. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Beatrice Tocci Gaetano of Monmouth Beach; his son and daughter-in-law, Anthony J. and Lynn Gaetano of Little Silver; two daughters and sons-in-law, Ellen and Robert Skowrenski of the Oakhurst section of Ocean Township, and Catherine and Ronald Greene of Oceanport; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, Long Branch. Entombment was at Woodbine Mausoleum, Oceanport. MARGARET EGAN McCUE, 89, of Hazlet died May 24 at Regency Park Nursing Home, Hazlet. Born in Rumson, she was a lifelong resident prior to moving to Hazlet eight years ago. Mrs. McCue was a homemaker. She was a communicant of St. James Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank. She was predeceased by her husband, Alfred McCue, in 1982. She is survived by two daughters and one son-in-law, Nora and Artie Connaughton of Matawan, and Mary McCue of Washington, D.C.; two brothers, Richard McCue of Atlantic Highlands and Thomas McCue of West Long Branch; three grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Interment
was at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Middletown.
JOHANN HOLZER, 74, of the Elberon section of Long Branch died May 18 at Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune. Born in Moedling, Austria, he immigrated to the United States in 1953 and resided in Red Bank prior to moving to Long Branch 50 years ago. He worked at the Senior Executive Service as Deputy Director for Architecture of the Joint Tactical Command Control and Communications Agency, Fort Monmouth, Eatontown, for 35 years, retiring in 1988. During his employment, he received the Secretary of the Army Outstanding Achievement Award and the Defense Communication Agency Exceptional Civilian Service Award. He had eight patents earned in communications fields, including one of the first in digital communications, and made several major contributions to the Army’s communications program. He was a parishioner at St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church, West End section of Long Branch. He was past president of its St. Vincent de Paul Society, and also taught adult Bible classes at the church. He is survived by his wife, Maria Kogelbauer Holzer of Elberon; two sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas T. and Marita Holzer of Toms River, and Christian and Michele Holzer of Spring Lake Heights; two daughters and one son-in-law, Brigitte and David Perlstein of Washington Crossing, Pa., and Ingrid Holzer of Woodbridge; two sisters, Margarete Cajar of Germany, and Martha Satke of Austria; and five grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church, West End. Interment was at Woodbine Cemetery, Oceanport. CHARLES E. SEWELL, 86, of Middletown died May 24 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in Baltimore, he resided in Middletown the past 50 years. Mr. Sewell was a clerk at the U.S. Postal Service, Middletown, for 10 years before retiring. Prior to that, he served 25 years in the U.S. Army, attaining the rank of major. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 2179, Middletown; Knights of Columbus Vince Lombardi Council, Leonardo section of Middletown; and the Middletown Elks. Mr. Sewell was predeceased by his wife, Anna Sewell, in 1999. He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Joanne Sewell of Atlantic Highlands; a daughter and son-in-law, Christine and Fred Fuller of Wareham, Mass.; a brother and two sisters, Joseph Sewell, Florence Sewell and Fidelia Sewell, all of Baltimore; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. A funeral liturgy was offered at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, New Monmouth section of Middletown. Burial was at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Middletown.
RUTH L. GIBSON FITZGERALD of Old Bridge died June 2 at Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge. Born in Hoboken, she resided there and Hazlet prior to moving to Old Bridge three years ago. She was a homemaker. She was a communicant of St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, Keyport. She was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels, Monmouth County. She was predeceased by her husband, Russell Fitzgerald, in 1974. She is survived by her children, Sharon and Bill Conroy of Gettysburg, Pa.; Kathleen and Don Drake of Hazlet; Nancy and John Calamusa of Old Bridge; Dennis and Nancy Fitzgerald of Farmingdale; and Thomas Fitzgerald of Old Bridge; her brother and sister-in-law, Gerald and Barbara Bennett of Hamilton; and seven grandchildren. Visitation will be June 4 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at Day Funeral Home, Keyport. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered June 5 at 9:15 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, Keyport. AUBREY TRAFORD CAMERON SR., 81, of Matawan died May 21 at Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge. He was born in Fair Haven. Mr. Cameron was a retired welder and owned A.T. Cameron Inc., Middletown. Prior to that, he was the lead welder fabricator at Lockheed Electronics, Plainfield, for 32 years, retiring in 1984. He served with the U.S. Navy during World War II and was a Sea Bee from 1942-45. He was an avid fisherman. Mr. Cameron is survived by his wife, Patricia Ann McKinney Cameron of Middletown; two sons and daughters-in-law, Aubrey "Chuck" and Marcia Cameron Jr. of Middletown, and Mark and Joan Cameron of Matawan; two brothers, Robert Cameron and Norman Cameron; two sisters, Marian Mandia and Margaret Post; and three grandchildren. JOSEPH DeMAYO, 90, of Middletown died May 21 at Meridian Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Red Bank. Born in Lyndhurst, he resided in Nutley prior to moving to Middletown 25 years ago. He owned G&L Stewart Appliance Store, Kearny, for 48 years, retiring in 1981. He was a communicant of St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank. He was a member of the Benevolent Protective Order of Elks Lodge, Red Bank. He was predeceased by two sisters, Mildred Luberto and Theresa Magazino; and his brothers, Anthony DeMayo and Benjamin DeMayo. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Angelina Grillo DeMayo of Middletown; three daughters, Bernadette Hahn of Colts Neck, Doreen Aquino of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Caroline Bagna of Belmar; two sons, Dr. Joseph DeMayo of Clifton, and Gary DeMayo of Lake Hopatcong; three sisters, Anna Terrano of Lodi, Florence Edson of Paramus, and Judy Scancarella of Carlstadt; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
