ROSEMARIE MAROTTA, 59, of East Brunswick died June 3 in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. She was the co-owner of Weigelia Gardens, East Brunswick, a family-owned garden center for more than 60 years. Surviving are her husband, Leonard; a son, Lenny of East Brunswick; a daughter, Hali Figueroa, also of East Brunswick; a sister, Josephine Dagon of Anchorage, Alaska; a granddaughter; and four nieces and nephews. A Mass was offered at St. Bartholomew’s Church, East Brunswick. Interment

DOROTHY C. KELLEMAN, 63, of South Amboy died June 18 in JFK Medical Center, Edison. Surviving are three daughters, Lisa, Debra and Joanne; a brother, William; a sister, Marie; and eight grandchildren. Services were held at Gundrum Service Home for Funerals, South Amboy. Interment

PETER NASTRI, 88, of Franklin Square, N.Y., died June 22 at home. Surviving are his wife, Louise Mirando Nastri; a son, Peter Nastri of Sayreville; a daughter, Mildred Marrillo of the Whiting section of Manchester; a sister, Marion Hatred of Levittown, N.Y.; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. A Mass is planned for 10:45 a.m. on June 26 at St. James Church, Jamesburg. Entombment will follow in Holy Cross Burial Park Mausoleum, South Brunswick. NORA T. RATHBUN, 80, of Princeton, formerly of the Laurence Harbor section of Old Bridge and North Brunswick, died June 24 in The Medical Center at Princeton. She was predeceased by her husband, Rollin E. Rathbun, in 1992. Surviving are a son, Rollin E. Rathbun Jr. of Hillsborough; two daughters, Terry Rakowitz of Georgia and Robin Doherty of Jamesburg; a sister, Ann Zyck of Flemington; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. A funeral liturgy will be celebrated on June 27 at Our Lady of Peace Roman Catholic Church, North Brunswick (time to be announced). Entombment will follow in Holy Cross Burial Park, East Brunswick.
SIGMUND J. KLOSEK, 86, of the Morgan section of Sayreville died June 22 at home. A master carpenter, he was employed by Carpenter’s Union Local No. 1006, Milltown, for many years before his retirement in 1979. He also was a self-employed home builder and co-owner of J&K Builders, Morgan section of Sayreville. His first wife, Connie DiBiase Klosek, died in 1979; a daughter, Rose Marie Crolius, died in 1978; and a stepson, Francis Javier Gutierrez, died in 1995. Surviving are his wife, Maria Carmen Perez Gutierrez Klosek; two sons, Joseph Klosek of Wescosville, Pa., and John Klosek of the Parlin section of Sayreville; a daughter, Catherine Klosek of Allentown, Pa.; a stepdaughter, Dora Bergmann of Morgan; 14 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. A Mass was offered at Our Lady of Fatima Church, Perth Amboy. Interment
was in Christ Church Cemetery, South Amboy.
JOAN A. DONNELLY McDONNELL, 78, of South Amboy, formerly of the Morgan section of Sayreville, died June 19 in St. Peter’s University Hospital, New Brunswick. She was predeceased by her husband, William Thomas McDonnell. Surviving are two sons, William John McDonnell of East Brunswick and John Corbett McDonnell of Brookfield, Conn.; and four grandchildren. GERALDINE REED MORRIS, 72, of Bonita Springs, Fla., formerly of Milltown, died May 28 at home. Her first husband, Arthur C. Reed, died in 1979. Surviving are her husband, Kenneth A. Morris; a sister, Elizabeth Triggs of Sayreville; a daughter, Donna Reed Przybylowski of Milltown; a son, Arthur Reed of Elmira, N.Y.; three stepsons, John Morris of Naples, Fla., Paul Morris of Gainesville, Fla., and Scott Morris of South Carolina; eight grandchildren; two grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A service is planned for 3 p.m. on June 29 at United Methodist Church of Milltown. A fellowship time will follow. LEAH BERLEW O’BRIEN, 78, of Lakewood, formerly of South Amboy, died June 18 in Community Medical Center, Toms River section of Dover. During the 1950s she was employed as a teacher at St. Mary’s Elementary School, South Amboy. Surviving are her husband, Thomas A. O’Brien; two sons, Thomas Lorton of Toms River and Timothy L. O’Brien of Annandale, Va.; a daughter, Anne Elizabeth Evans of Monroe; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. A Mass was offered at St. Mary’s Church, South Amboy. Interment

JOHN J. CARNEY JR., 71, of Conway, S.C., formerly of Spotswood, died June 22 at home. He served as a member of the Spotswood Borough Council from 1986-1997. Surviving are his wife, Margaret A. Byrnes Carney; two sons, Michael Carney of St. Charles, Ill., and John M. Carney of Conway; three daughters, Mary Elizabeth "Betsy" Albecker of Myrtle Beach, S.C., Margaret Ann "Peggy" Suever of New Market, Md., and Eileen Carney of Conway; a brother, William Carney of Massapequa Park, N.Y.; and six grandchildren. CARLA A. MAHER, 54, of Old Bridge died June 27 in Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge division. She was a language arts teacher the past 32 years at Immaculate Conception School, Spotswood. Her numerous honors include the Metuchen Diocese Educator of the Year Award, the Knights of Columbus Shield Award, and two nominations to Who’s Who Among American Teachers. She was also recognized by the Atlanta Committee for the Olympic Games as a Community Hero and served as a Community Hero Torchbearer for the 1996 summer Olympics. Surviving are her husband, William; two daughters, Kristin and Kaitln; her mother, Martha Orlowski of South Amboy; three brothers, Leonard Orlowski of Sayreville, Robert Orlowski of Matawan and Ronald Orlowski of South Amboy; and a sister, Nancy Orlowski of South Amboy. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Spotswood. Interment
