JOAN A. SHAFFER, 64, of Dawsonville, Ga., formerly of Old Bridge, died July 16 in Peachtree Christian Hospice, Dawsonville. Surviving are a daughter, Cindy Valetutto of Dawsonville; two sons, Kevin Gurnovich of Old Bridge and Dennis Gurnovich of Dawsonville; and four grandchildren, Cheryl Gurnovich and Kevin Gurnovich Jr., both of Old Bridge, and Monica Gurnovich and Krista Valetutto, both of Dawsonville. A service was held at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel, Dawsonville.
VINCENT J. GIAMERESE JR., 81, of East Brunswick died July 23 in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. He co-owned and operated the Giamerese farm, East Brunswick, for more than 50 years. His wife, Gertrude Albrecht Giamerese, died in 1999. Surviving are a son, Gary Giamerese of Washington, D.C.; four daughters, Lynn Giamerese of Hot Springs, S.D., Nancy McClintock of Lyman, Maine, Marilyn Riddle of Lakeland, Fla., and Janeen Lee of Baytown, Texas; five grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A Mass was offered at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Milltown. Interment
was in Holy Cross Burial Park, East Brunswick.
DAVID A. MULVIHILL, 64, of Stuart, Fla., formerly of South River, died July 25 at home. Prior to his retirement in 1992, he owned D.M. and Sons Inc., South River, for 30 years. Surviving are two sons, David Mulvihill of Magnolia, Texas, and Dan Mulvihill of Stuart; two daughters, Denise Gladding of Burnt Hills, N.Y., and Michelle Mulvihill of the Navesink section of Atlantic Highlands; two brothers, Robert Mulvihill of Jupiter, Fla., and Larry Mulvihill of Old Bridge; two sisters, Arlene Bono of Naples, Fla., and Patricia Kuc of Wrightstown; seven grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and his former wife, Marie McHose of Monroe. A Mass is planned for 9 a.m. on July 31 at Corpus Christi Church, South River. Interment
will follow in Old Tennent Cemetery, Tennent section of Manalapan.
FRED J. CACCAVALE, 79, of East Brunswick died July 24 in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. His wife, Mary Romano Caccavale, died July 6. Surviving are a son, Fred of Bridgewater; three daughters, Giovanna Cosentino of East Brunswick, Barbara Tripaldi of Franklin Square, N.Y., and Frances Grasso of Syosset, N.Y.; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. A Mass was offered at St. Bartholomew’s Church, East Brunswick. Entombment was in Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick.
OLGA SHYKO, 86, of Milltown died Aug. 5 at home. She was an operator at Personal Products Corp., Milltown, for 20 years, retiring in 1972. She was predeceased by her husband, Nicholas Shyko, in 1999. Surviving are a son, Nicholas Shyko of Banning, Calif.; a daughter, Paula Shyko of Long Beach, Calif.; a brother, John Jaskowski of North Brunswick; a sister, Helen Robbins of New Brunswick; and one granddaughter. Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. on Aug. 7 at Selover Funeral Home, North Brunswick. A funeral service will be held Aug. 8 at 10 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by a service at 11 a.m. at Saints Peter and Paul Russian Orthodox Church, South River. Interment
will be in the church cemetery.
JERRY KING, 74, of South River, formerly of North Brunswick, died July 27 in St. Peter’s University Hospital, New Brunswick. Surviving are his wife, Natalie Lefkowitz King; two daughters, Audrey Fenton of South River and Michele Norman of Hampstead, N.C.; a son, Howard King of South River; a brother, Robert King of Rockville Centre, N.Y.; and four grandchildren. A graveside service was held at King Solomon Cemetery, Clifton. A memorial scholarship fund will be established in the deceased’s name at South River High School. Donations may be sent to the family.
ALICE RECHNER MARCIANI, 51, of Monroe died Aug. 2 in St. Peter’s University Hospital, New Brunswick. Surviving are her husband, Richard Marciani; a daughter, Dina Marciani, and two sons, Matthew Marciani and David Marciani, all at home; and two sisters, Eileen Heinen of Vine Grove, Ky., and Victoria O’Neill of Wanamassa. A Mass is planned for 10:15 a.m. on Aug. 7 at Immaculate Conception Church, Spotswood. Interment
will follow in Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick.
CLARENCE H. SAUERS, 95, of East Brunswick died July 31 in St. Peter’s University Hospital, New Brunswick. Prior to his retirement in 1973, he was employed as a machinist at Okonite Cable Co., North Brunswick, where he worked for 49 years. His wife, Gertrude Edwards Sauers, died in 1979. Surviving are four daughters, Dolores Frantz of Collegeville, Pa., Shirley Shelhamer and Jayne Clemente, both of North Brunswick, and Joyce Jakubowski of Florida; two sisters, Madeline Muth of Philadelphia and Ruth Hardy of Medfield, Mass.; six brothers, Ralph of Philadelphia, William, Harry, Fred and Carl, all of Wilkes-Barre, Pa., and Robert of Wilmington, Del.; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Services were held at Selover Funeral Home, North Brunswick. Interment
was in Franklin Memorial Park, North Brunswick.
ALBA SYLVIA PISTORIO SIGNORIELLO, 77, of Manalapan died July 31 at home. Surviving are her husband, George W. Signoriello; three sons, Frank N. Signoriello of Colorado Springs, Colo., Vincent J. Signoriello of Matawan and George W. Signoriello Jr. of East Brunswick; four daughters, Antonia Westgate of Pocono Summit, Pa., Josephine Crain of Colorado Springs, Fannie F. Eison of Apex, N.C., and Mary I. Megna of Manalapan; 15 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. A service was held at Monmouth Worship Center, Marlboro. Interment
was in Old Tennent Cemetery, Tennent section of Manalapan.
