BARBARA J. DOLAN PRESCOTT, 54, of the Laurence Harbor section of Old Bridge died Aug. 6 at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Born in Long Branch, she was a lifelong resident of Laurence Harbor. She was predeceased by her mother, Eleanor Rogers Dolan in 1995. She is survived by her father, Raymond Dolan of Hazlet; her husband, Edward W. Prescott Sr. of Laurence Harbor; her son, Edward W. Prescott Jr.; her sister, Eleanor Dolan of the West Keansburg section of Hazlet; her brother and sister-in-law, Raymond and Eileen Dolan Jr. of Howell; two grandchildren; and three nieces.
ANGELINA J. BONFIGLIO SANGINARIO, 79, of the Parlin section of Sayreville died Aug. 7 in Roosevelt Care Center, Edison. Surviving are two sons, Leonard of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and Stephen of Howard Beach, N.Y.; two sisters, Anna Bonner of Parlin and Antoinette Barraco of Laguna Hills, Calif.; and two grandsons. Services were held at Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home, Parlin. Interment
was in New Calvary Cemetery, Parlin.
JAMES T. STEPHANO JR., 57, of the Morgan section of Sayreville died Aug. 5 in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Surviving are his wife, Patricia Jeffers Stephano; a son, James N. Stephano of Morgan; his mother, Julia Stephano of Greensboro, N.C.; a sister, Lois Reynolds of Greensboro; and many other family members. A Mass was offered at St. Mary’s Church, South Amboy. Entombment was in the church mausoleum.
WILLIAM MAGEE WESTFALL, 49, of South Amboy died Aug. 1 at home. Surviving are a son, William Magee Westfall II, at home; a daughter, Christine Marie Westfall of South Amboy; two sisters, Eileen Reo of the Stewartsville section of Greenwich Township and Carol Duggan of South Amboy; and his fiancée, Teresa Andersen of South Amboy. A Mass was offered at St. Mary’s Church, South Amboy. Cremation was private.
MATTHEW H. EICK, 77, of the Parlin section of Sayreville died Aug. 5 in Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge division. Surviving are a son, Matthew Eick of North Plainfield; a daughter, Dani Eick of Old Bridge; a sister, Patricia Kaiser of Easton, Pa.; and many nieces and nephews. Services were held at Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home, Parlin. Cremation was private.
JOHN S. CALLAHAN, 74, of Little Egg Harbor, formerly of Helmetta and Old Bridge, died July 25. He was a lifetime member of the Madison Park First Aid Squad, Madison Park section of Old Bridge. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Mike Traficante of Florida; a son, Jay of New Mexico; and two sisters, Marion and Betty, both of Florida. Interment
of cremated remains was in Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arnytown section of North Hanover.
HAROLD J. HAYTKO, 61, of Sayreville died Aug. 6 in Raritan Bay Medical Center, Perth Amboy division. Surviving are his wife, Mary DiStaso Haytko; a son, Joseph M. Haytko of Newfoundland, Pa.; a daughter, Barbara Jean Olcsvay of Milltown; a brother, William Haytko of Long Branch; two sisters, Annamae Crawford of Long Branch and Beatrice Hynson of Charlotte, N.C.; three grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at St. Mary’s Church, South Amboy. Entombment was in the church mausoleum.
MARIE F. RAPPLEYEA BLASZKA, 86, of Sayreville died Aug. 8 in Care One at East Brunswick Health Center. Her husband, Dominick, died in 1987. Surviving are a daughter, Barbara Ann Steiner of Sayreville; a brother, Ed Rappleyea, and a sister, Gail Smalley, both of Sayreville; a nephew, William Rappleyea Jr. of Sayreville; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren; and many other nieces and nephews. A Mass was offered at Our Lady of Victories Church, Sayreville. Interment

ELLEN WINANT APPLEGATE, 86, of Sayreville died Aug. 17 at Manor Care Health Center, Urbana, Ill. She was a member of Sayreville First Presbyterian Church. She was predeceased by her husband, Melvin Applegate, in 1992. Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Harold and Carol Applegate of Milltown, and Vernon E. and Judie Applegate of Hampton, Va.; her daughter, Dianne Applegate of Savoy, Ill.; her brother, Harvey Winant of East Brunswick; her sister, Marie Grodzki of South Carolina; nine grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held Aug. 21 at 11 a.m. at Maliszewski Memorial Home, Sayreville. Entombment will follow at Franklin Memorial Park Mausoleum, Franklin. Memorial donations may be made to the South Amboy Elks Lodge No. 2555, 601 Washington Ave., South Amboy, 08879.
MARGIE J. RHODES De LEO, 77, of Monroe died Aug. 18 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Mrs. De Leo was a communicant of Nativity of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church, Monroe. She was a member and past president of Our Lady of Victories Council No. 2061 Columbiettes, the Daughters of the Confederacy, and the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was predeceased by a brother, Douglas Rhodes. Mrs. De Leo is survived by her husband of 52 years, Ernest M. De Leo; a daughter and son-in-law, Denise and Ken Olivier of Toms River; three sons and daughters-in-law, Peter and Theresa De Leo of Brick, Michael and Dee De Leo of Keansburg, and Stephen and Patricia De Leo of South Amboy; a sister, Joyce Riddick of Aiken, S.C.; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Aug. 21 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home, Parlin. A funeral service will be held Aug. 22 at 8:30 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. at Nativity of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church, Monroe. Burial will be at New Calvary Cemetery, Parlin.
