JOSEPH CANNICI, 87, of East Brunswick died Aug. 20 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II and was the recipient of the Purple Heart and a Distinguished Unit Badge with two Oak Leaf Clusters. He was a communicant of St. Bartholomew Roman Catholic Church, East Brunswick. He was predeceased by five brothers, and two sisters. Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Fanny Capitumino Cannici of East Brunswick; three daughters and sons-in-law, Elise and Ted Grosch of Marlboro, Kathy and Matthew Brown of East Brunswick, and Anita and Joseph Sciarrotta of Davie, Fla.; his sister, Minnie DeLuca of Sunrise, Fla.; and four grandchildren. Visitation will be Aug. 22 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at Brunswick Memorial Funeral Home, East Brunswick. A funeral service will be held Aug. 23 at 8:15 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. at St. Bartholomew Roman Catholic Church, East Brunswick. JAMES THEODORE WALKER, 82, of East Brunswick died Aug. 19 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Mr. Walker served with the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church, East Brunswick. His first wife, Margaret K. Walker, died in 1985. Mr. Walker is survived by his wife, Helen Pikul Walker; a son and daughter-in-law, James Scott Walker and Adrianne Spota of Marlboro; a daughter and son-in-law, Robin Susan and Ronald Taylor of Dallas; four stepchildren; and four grandchildren. Visitation will be Aug. 21 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at Brunswick Memorial Funeral Home, East Brunswick. A memorial service will be held Aug. 22 at 10 a.m. at Trinity Presbyterian Church, East Brunswick. Burial will be at Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick. CLETA I. HOWELL JULIANO, 62, of the Parlin section of Sayreville died May 20 in Holmdel Convalescent Center. A son, Dennis James, died in 1982. Surviving are her husband, Joseph V. Juliano; a son, Joseph James of Sayreville; a daughter, Darcy Dunbar of Brick; and five grandchildren. A Mass was offered at St. Mary’s Church, South Amboy. Interment

FREDERICK G. EDGINGTON, 71, of the Parlin section of Sayreville died May 24 in Raritan Bay Medical Center, Perth Amboy division. Surviving are his wife, Diane Smillie Edgington; a son, Thomas Edgington of Parlin; three daughters, Nancy Arvanits and Janice Taillefer, both of Parlin, and Karen McCracken of the Forked River section of Lacey; a sister, Norma Hummal of Cranford; and nine grandchildren. Services were held at Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home, Parlin. Cremation was private. Memorial contributions may be made to the Fraternal Order of Police, Lodge No. 12, Newark, NJ.
ANNE S. FALL of Old Bridge died May 25 at home. Prior to her retirement in 1992, she was a secretary for the Old Bridge Township Board of Education, where she worked for 19 years. She was predeceased by her husband, Roderick. Surviving are two sons, Allan S. of Waldwick and Charles of Wall; a sister, Eleanor Amos of Juno Beach, Fla.; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Arrangements were under the direction of Michael Hegarty Funeral Home, Old Bridge. Cremation was private.
FRIEDA L. FORMICA, 65, of Galloway, formerly of the Parlin section of Sayreville, died May 26 in Shore Memorial Hospital, Somers Point. Surviving are her husband, Victor J.; two sons, Glenn of Sayreville and Dean of South Amboy; a sister, Phyllis Maltese of Totowa; and two grandchildren. A Mass was offered at St. Bernadette’s Church, Parlin section of Old Bridge. Entombment was in Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick. JOSEPH J. KULAS, 85, of Sayreville died May 20 in Carriage House Manor, Sayreville. He was predeceased by his wife, Clair Obal Kulas, and a daughter, Sharon Ann Canonico. Surviving are two grandchildren, Richard Canonico and Christine Canonico, both of the Kendall Park section of South Brunswick; two nieces, Janice Starek of the Morganville section of Marlboro and Karen Marcason of North Brunswick; and many lifelong friends. JOSEPH W. SAMUEL, 78, of Sayreville died May 26 in St. Peter’s University Hospital, New Brunswick. Surviving are his wife, Rosemarie Basara Samuel; a son, John J. Samuel of Beachwood; two daughters, Roseann Birch of Linden and Joann Mills of the Lawrenceville section of Lawrence; a sister, Laura Gutkowski of Sayreville; a brother, Peter Samuel of Manalapan; five grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. A Mass is planned for 9:30 a.m. on May 30 at Sacred Heart Church, South Amboy. Interment
will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, East Brunswick.
PAULINE C. GROBELNY BARA, 86, of South River died May 25 in McCarrick Care Center, Somerset section of Franklin. Her husband, John S. Bara, died in 1981, and a daughter, Leona C. Biddle, died in 2000. Surviving are two sons, Ronald Bara of South River and Kenneth Bara of Bishopville, Md.; a daughter, Mary Ann Czysz of New Tripoli, Pa.; two sisters, Wanda Wyluda of South River and Jenny Brylinski of Sayreville; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. STELLA PAULINE HERMANSKI KADUBIC, 79, of Spotswood, formerly of East Brunswick, died May 22 at home. Prior to her retirement in 1998, she was a school bus driver for 30 years with the Old Bridge Township Board of Education. Surviving are two sons, Louis of East Brunswick and Brad of the Toms River section of Dover; a brother, John Hermanski of Old Bridge; three sisters, Hattie Conover and Stephie Willis, both of East Brunswick, and Leona Betker of Arroya Grande, Calif.; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
