Mary Banke Loscoe
Mrs. Loscoe, 88, of Tinton Falls, died June 4 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. Born in Matawan, she resided there prior to moving to Tinton Falls four years ago. She was a clerk for Matawan Borough for several years, retiring in 1993. She was predeceased by her husband, George A. Loscoe Jr. in 2000. She is survived by a son, Dr. Phillip G. Loscoe of Richland, Wash.; a daughter, Frances Loscoe Schoor of Holmdel; a brother, George Banke of Vestal, N.Y.; four grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial

Mike Alberts
Mr. Alberts, 54, of Little Silver, died June 13 at home. Born in Pasadena, Calif., he resided in Little Silver the past 29 years. He was the owner of a medical supplies business the past 10 years. He enjoyed time with his family, coaching his children in various sports, golf, basketball and baseball. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Kunz Alberts; two sons and a daughter, David M., Daniel J. and Michele, all at home; his parents, Marian and James Alberts of Glen Rock; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Rick and Pattie Alberts of Tampa, Fla., and Jeff and Maria Alberts of Marietta, Ga.; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Kathy Serkin of Little Silver, and Theresa and Paul Nachtigal of Ormond Beach, Fla.; his father-in-law, Thomas Kunz; three brothers-in-law; and several nieces and nephews. Mary M. Haddock
Mrs. Haddock, 95, of Port St. Lucie, Fla., and formerly Sea Bright, died June 13 at Lawnwood Regional Medical Center, Fort Pierce, Fla. Born in Lowell, Mass., she resided in Sea Bright and Florida prior to moving to Port St. Lucie 10 years ago. She was a retired telephone operator at AT&T;, White Plains, N.Y. She was predeceased by her husband of 52 years, Albert Haddock in 2001, and a son, Gregory Haddock. She is survived by a daughter, Elaine Schulkin of Sea Bright; a brother, John Tully of Jamesburg; a sister, Alice Nelson of Alton, N.H.; and three grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial

Stephen J. Bartosh
Mr. Bartosh, 83, of Shrewsbury, died June 14 in Manasquan, after suffering a stroke. He resided in Manasquan prior to moving to Shrewsbury in 1961. He was a chemical engineer for the U.S. Army Research and Development Laboratories, Fort Monmouth, Eatontown, for 31 years, retiring in 1981. Prior to that, he taught at Manasquan High School. He was a retired Lt. Commander in the U.S. Naval Reserve and served in the South Pacific during World War II. He was an exempt fireman at Manasquan Engine Company No. 2. He was predeceased by a sister, Martha Komlo, and a brother, Leonard Bartosh. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Dorothy Miller Bartosh; two sons, Stephen A. “Drew” and Mark A., both of Shrewsbury; a daughter, Deborah L. of Henderson, Ky.; and two brothers and one sister-in-law, Lt. Col. John F. Bartosh, U.S. Air Force Retired, and Louise of Summerville, S.C., and James Bartosh of Irwin, Pa. Interment

Kathryn K. Harbort
Mrs. Harbort, 87, of Little Silver, died March 28 in Red Bank. Born in Red Bank, she resided in several states, Canada, Korea and Germany while her husband was in the U.S. Army, prior to moving to Little Silver in 1976. She was a communicant of Church of the Nativity, Fair Haven, where she was also active in its Renew program. She enjoyed painting, fashion design and doll making. She was predeceased by two brothers, Edwin and Martin Kennedy; and three sisters, Helen Kennedy, Mary McKnight and Margaret Uridel. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Col. (Ret.) Walter J. Harbort; a son and daughter-in-law, Walter and Susan H. Harbort Jr. of Tinton Falls; two daughters and one son-in-law, Kathleen Harbort of Old Greenwich, Conn., and Patricia H. and Jeffrey H. Bell of Wilmington, Del.; a brother and sister-in-law, G. Paul and Dorothy Kennedy of Shrewsbury; a sister, Regina K. Mason of Little Silver; two grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Otto H. Aders
Mr. Aders, 89, of Shrewsbury, died April 4 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. He was born in Decorah, Iowa. He was an independent adjuster for his own company, and prior to that, worked at several major insurance companies. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II, achieving the rank of First Sergeant of the 66th Signal Battalion. He received the Soldier’s Medal for Bravery for saving the life of a fellow soldier, and was honorably discharged. He was a communicant of St. James Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank. He was a member of the American Legion, and Elks. He was predeceased by his granddaughter, Marietta. He is survived by his wife, Louise; a daughter, Magdalena; and several nieces and nephews. Emma V. Sickles Mongold
Mrs. Mongold, 72, of Matawan, died April 14 at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Born in Flushing, N.Y., she had resided in Whitestone, N.Y., before moving to Matawan in 1963. Mrs. Mongold was a homemaker. She is survived by her husband, William Mongold; four daughters, Katherine Alfieri of Hamilton Square, Judi Grobosky of Wall, Debra McTaggart of Freehold and Lori McCauley of Red Bank; two sons, William Mongold of Forked River and Glenn Mongold of North Plainfield; two sisters, Lillian Stalleto of California and Margie Veteri of Pompton Lakes; a brother, Frederick Sickles of Florida; and six grandchildren. Dianne M. Hayes-Sosa
Mrs. Hayes-Sosa, 45, of Tinton Falls, died April 13 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in Somerville, she resided in Denville prior to moving to Tinton Falls in 1988. She was the owner/operator of Creative Memories, Tinton Falls. Prior to that, she was a human resource manager at AT&T;, Holmdel. She was a communicant of and lector and Eucharistic minister at St. Leo the Great Roman Catholic Church, Lincroft section of Middletown. She is survived by her husband of 15 years, Miguel A. Sosa; a daughter, Rebecca M. Sosa of Tinton Falls; her parents, Harry and Lorna Hayes of Denville; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Richard and Margaret Hayes of Fredericksburg, Va., and James and Mary Beth Hayes of Glen Mills, Pa.; and her mothers-in-law, Antonia Gonzalez and Laura Merlo, both of Puerto Rico. Robert A. Gerhold
Mr. Gerhold, 88, of Shrewsbury, died April 6 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in the Bronx, N.Y., he had been a resident of Shrewsbury since 1951. Following his graduation from Cooper Union School of Engineering, New York City, with a degree in electrical engineering, Mr. Gerhold’s career of 43 years included 28 years with the Army Electronics Research and Development Command, culminating with the position of deputy director of the Microelectronics Divisions Electronics and Devices Laboratory at Fort Monmouth. He pioneered the development of automated assembly of electronics and printed wiring assemblies, provided directions for various research and development programs, and served on several electronics industry committees. He authored and presented several papers, including a contribution to the 1975 McGraw-Hill Electronics Engineers’ Handbook. Following his retirement in 1979, he served as a consultant to the Army. Mr. Gerhold was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Red Bank, where he served as an usher, council member, first lay president of the church council, and on several ministry teams. He was chairman of the Troop Committee of Shrewsbury Boy Scout Troop 250; a member of the Shrewsbury Senior Homesteaders; and a member of the Monmouth County Chapter of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees. Mr. Gerhold is survived by his wife of 64 years, Mildred; a daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and Doug Alt of Ocean Township; a son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Bette Gerhold of Houston; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. A funeral service was held at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, followed by interment at Fair View Cemetery, Middletown. The John E. Day Funeral Home, Red Bank, was in charge of arrangements. Gary G. Canaris
Mr. Canaris, 51, of Long Branch, died April 2 at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. Born in Bayonne, he resided in Lyndhurst prior to moving to Long Branch 12 years ago. He is survived by his wife, Michele Linfante Canaris; his children Carly, Jesse and Nicholas Canaris; his mother, Stella Canaris; a sister, Victoria Canaris; and a brother, John Canaris. Arrangements were by Nazare Memorial Home Inc., Lyndhurst.
Edith Gloria Robertson
Mrs. Robertson, 80, of Atlantic Highlands, died April 20 at home. She was a native of Highlands, where she resided for 79 years. After high school, she worked at Fort Hancock Military Base, Sandy Hook. She was an employee of what is now Bank of America, Sea Bright, for many years. She was an active member of Highlands United Methodist Church and also the church choir. She was a member of the United Methodist Women. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert, in 2000, and a son, A. Meade Robertson, in 2004, and her sister, Nedra Rogers. She is survived by five daughters and four sons-in-law, Sylvia and William Schloeder of Atlantic Highlands, Susan and Herbert Brooks of Jamestown, N.Y., Nedra and Jim Warren of Middleton, Mass., Myra Robertson of Panama, N.Y., and Sheredith and “Boom” Briggs of Lottesville, Penn.; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Robert and Makie Robertson of Port Royal, S.C., Linda Robertson of Toms River, Roger Robertson of Highlands and Richard Robertson of Highlands; 12 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. There was no funeral, but there will be a memorial service on May 1 at 1 p.m. at the United Methodist Church, 181 Bay Ave., Highlands o7732. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the church. Postens Funeral Home, Atlantic Highlands, is in charge of arrangements.
