RITA N. VanHART SCULLY, 83, of South Amboy died Feb. 28 in Regency Park Nursing Center, Hazlet. Her husband, William A. Scully, died in 1993. Surviving are three stepsons, William Scully and James Scully, both of South Amboy, and Richard Scully of Monroe; and three cousins, Leo Kelly and William Kelly, both of Sterling, Va., and Ed Kelly of Maitland, Fla. A Mass was offered at St. Mary’s Church, South Amboy, Entombment was in St. Mary’s Mausoleum, also South Amboy.
JOHN F. "JACK" CONOVER, 61, of Spotswood, formerly of Old Bridge and Sayreville, died March 1 in St. Peter’s University Hospital, New Brunswick. His wife, Carmen L. Conover, died in 1991. Surviving are a son, Christopher Conover of Ambridge, Pa., and a daughter, Dawn Brunotte of Brick. Services were under the direction of Eckman Funeral Home, Spotswood. Interment

KATHLEEN "KITTY" GAUNT, 71, of Milltown, formerly of Hazlet, died Feb. 24 in St. Peter’s University Hospital, New Brunswick. Her husband, Joseph A. Gaunt Jr., died in 1995. Surviving are two sons, Michael Gaunt of the Lawrenceville section of Lawrence and Thomas Gaunt of Old Bridge; four daughters, Karen Gaunt-Lewis of Lambertville, Elizabeth Gzemski of Broken Arrow, Okla., Joyce Gaunt of Howell and Joan Horvath of Old Bridge; a sister, Dorothy Mehm of Milltown; a brother, Robert Mehm of Zephyrhills, Fla.; and nine grandchildren. A funeral liturgy was offered at Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church, Milltown. Interment

CATHERINE KOLODZIEJ BULMAN, 88, of South Amboy died Feb. 27 in Carriage House Manor, Sayreville. Her husband, Francis W. "Hank" Bulman, died in 1986; a son, Robert, died in 1997; and a granddaughter, Ashley Bulman, died in 1989. Surviving are three sons, Joseph J. Bulman of Piscataway, William F. of Farmingdale and F. Regis of Voorhees; two daughters, Kathleen Kennedy of South Amboy and Maureen Bulman of Hamilton; a daughter-in-law, Susan Bulman-Ditchkus of the Avenel section of Woodbridge; and seven grandchildren. LORETTA M. DAWE, 59, of Cliffwood Beach, formerly of the Laurence Harbor section of Old Bridge, died Feb. 24 at home. Surviving are her mother, Marie Muratore Cannule of Brooklyn, N.Y.; a daughter, Jennifer Kouri of Cliffwood Beach; two sons, Kenneth Dawe of Cliffwood Beach and Kevin L. Dawe of Homesdale, Pa.; a sister, Frances Nastasi of Brooklyn; and two grandchildren. A Mass was offered at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, Keyport.
HELEN BUTZKO ADAMIEC, 76, of Old Bridge died Feb. 28 at home. Her husband, Thomas Joseph Adamiec, died in 1994. Surviving are a son, Mark Adamiec of Old Bridge; a daughter, Ann Marie Wroblewski of Old Bridge; a brother, Joseph Butzko of Perth Amboy; a sister-in-law, Ethel Butzko of Matawan; three grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. MARGARET MELLI COSTANZO, 81, of South Amboy died Feb. 25 in Hunterdon Medical Center, Flemington. Her husband, John Costanzo, died in 1991, and a daughter, Judith, died in 1998. Surviving are two sons, John Jr. of Farmingdale and Mark of Freehold; two daughters, Joanne Warnowicz of Glen Gardner and Sandra McSweeney of Mendon, Mass.; a brother, Frank Melli of South Amboy; a sister, Yola Cutro of Clark; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. A service was held at Trinity United Methodist Church, Sayreville. Interment
was in Christ Church Cemetery, South Amboy. Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church.
GLADYS V. TICE MARCZAK CREED, 79, of South Amboy died Feb. 19 in Carriage House Manor, Morgan section of Sayreville. Her first husband, Adrian Marczak, died in 1954; her second husband, Francis C. Creed, died in 1966; and a son, Jan Michael Marczak, died in 1990. Surviving are a son, Albert Marczak of South Amboy; two daughters, Patricia Ploskon of South River and Catherine Sydlosky of South Amboy; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. FLORENCE E. NORMAN RZIGALINSKI, 85, of Sayreville died Feb. 25 in Haven Hospice at JFK Medical Center, Edison. She was the owner and operator of Norman’s Tavern, Sayreville. She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph A. Rzigalinski, and by a daughter, Norma E. Zollinger. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Marcia and Donald Newton of Sayreville; a son-in-law, John Zollinger, also of Sayreville; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. LOLITA PRADAS SALAZAR, 71, of the Parlin section of Sayreville died Feb. 26. Her husband, Tuburcio Salazar, died in 1984. Surviving are five sons, Hilario Salazar, with whom she lived, Milo, Wilfredo and Guillermo, all of the Philippines, and Rosalio of Canada; two daughters, Ligaya Mapp of Brooklyn and Anna Belen Salazar of Parlin; four sisters, Liticia Pradas, Luthgarda Rosales, Lorna Pradas, all of Canada, and Emiliana Pradas of the Philippines; three brothers, Carlito Pradas of Canada and Arnold Pradas and Bartolme Pradas, both of the Philippines; and 14 grandchildren.
