RITA BATTAGLIA, 83, of East Brunswick died Feb. 24 in Sunrise Assisted Living, East Brunswick. Her husband, Rosario Battaglia, died in 1990. Surviving are two daughters, Dorothy Battaglia of East Brunswick and Annette Jaronski of Orlando, Fla.; two grandsons; and three great-grandchildren. A Mass is planned for 9 a.m. on Feb. 27 at Corpus Christi Church, South River. Entombment will follow in Holy Cross Burial Park Mausoleum, South Brunswick.
DENNIS DUKAY, 63, of South River died Feb. 19 in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Surviving are his wife, Diane Dukay; a daughter, Cami Dukay of South River; a sister, Mary Ann Wilczewski of South River; and close family friend, John Papaleo of South River. ERICH W. HEINE, 79, of South River died Feb. 20 in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. JENNIE J. POPOWSKI KRENZEL, 80, of Helmetta died Feb. 21 in St. Peter’s University Hospital, New Brunswick. Her husband, Walter K. Krenzel, died in 1975. Surviving are two sons, Ronald W. of Eatontown and James of Buxton, N.C.; a brother, Frank Popowski of Piscataway; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. FLORENCE BULLOSS-SPIRES, 79, of Zephyrhills, Fla., formerly of Piscataway, died Feb. 20 in Hernando Pasco Hospice, Dade City, Fla. Her first husband, Harry a. Bulloss Sr., died in 1994. Surviving are her husband, Lester Spires of Zephyrhills, Fla.; a son, Harry A. Bulloss Jr. of Washington Township; three daughters, Frances Remus Sasashima of Fair Oaks, Calif., Harriet J. Leavitt of Brick and Dolores "Dee" Ray of East Brunswick; a brother, Frank Gutowski of Florida; a sister, Rose Gloc of New City, N.Y.; nine grandchildren; and eight grand-grandchildren. ADAM ZIELINSKI, 80, of East Brunswick died Feb. 21 in St. Peter’s University Hospital, New Brunswick. Prior to his retirement in 1983, he worked as a custodian for the East Brunswick Board of Education for five years. His wife, Mary V. Jablonski Zielinski, died in November. Surviving are a daughter, Karen Zielinski-Young of East Windsor; five sons, Robert Zielinski of Bayville, Kenneth Zielinski of Orlando, Fla., Michael Zielinski of East Brunswick, Richard Zielinski of East Windsor and Steven Levensky of Jackson; five sisters, Mary Ziel, Fannie Nalawasky, Josephine Tanzosh and Evelyn "Honey" Montello, all of Staten Island, N.Y., and Sofia Larson of Lakewood; three brothers, Peter Zielinski, Walter Zielinski and Frank Zielinski, all of Staten Island; a brother-in-law, Dennis Scanlon; 11 grandchildren; and a great-grandson. JAMES W. CARROLL, 58, of Highlands, formerly of the Laurence Harbor section of Old Bridge, died Feb. 14 in Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel.
