GEORGE MOLNAR, 85, of Sayreville died Feb. 17 at home. Surviving are his wife, Helen Kwiatkowski; two daughters, Rita Manganaro of Sayreville and Joyce Gualtieri of Point Pleasant; two sons, George of Howell and Richard of Modlothian, Va.; a sister, Mary Bocra of Metuchen; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Services are planned for 9:30 a.m. on Feb. 22 at Maliszewski Memorial Home, Sayreville. Interment will follow in New Calvary Cemetery, Parlin.

MARIE CRONIN NEWCOMB, 77, of South Amboy died Feb. 16 at home. Prior to her retirement in 1988, she was employed by Connectron, Laurence Harbor section of Old Bridge. Her husband, Russell T. Newcomb, died in 1993. Surviving are a son, Drew C. Newcomb of South Amboy; four daughters, Nancy Schade of Sea Girt, Melanie Newcomb of Long Branch, Maribeth Newcomb of Hightstown and Jane Prusakowski of Howell; a sister, Joan Cronin of Sayreville; and five grandchildren. A Mass is planned for 9 a.m. on Feb. 21 at St. Mary’s Church, South Amboy. Entombment will follow in St. Mary’s Mausoleum, South Amboy. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Anthony Bread, St. Anthony Messenger, 1615 Republic St., Cincinnati, Ohio 45210.

MADELINE "MADDY" MEISSNER WORTLEY, 80, of South Amboy died Feb. 17 in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Her husband, Chester D. Wortley Sr., died in 1986. Surviving are two daughters, Nancy Murray of Bloomingdale and Lois Bowers of South Amboy; three sons, Chester Wortley Jr. of Half Moon Bay, Calif., Thomas Wortley of South Amboy and Henry Wortley of Sayreville; a sister, Alice Millward of Barbersville, Ky.; 14 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. A service is planned for 11 a.m. on Feb. 21 at Christ Episcopal Church, South Amboy. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the South Amboy Rescue Squad.

GILDA S. CARBONELL, 74, of Old Bridge died Feb. 12 in Raritan Bay Medical Center, Perth Amboy division. Surviving are four sons, Rafael Lim of Old Bridge, Lester Lim and Michael Lim, both of the Philippines, and Joey Lim of Thailand; two daughters, Jean dela Cruz of the Philippines and Susan Baldwin of Florida; a sister, Naty Carbonell of Brooklyn, N.Y.; and 14 grandchildren. Services were held at Rezem Funeral Home, East Brunswick. Interment was private.

FRANK C. JURSKI, 79, of South Amboy died Feb. 16 in Raritan Bay Medical Center, Perth Amboy division. Prior to his retirement in 1996, he was employed as a custodian for the South Amboy Board of Education for 16 years. His wife, Esther Jurski, died in 1994. Surviving are a daughter, Karen A. Rufus of South Amboy; a brother, Joseph Jurski of Florida; two sisters, Regina Roskowski and Mary Jurski, both of South Amboy; a granddaughter, Melissa Kwiatek of South Amboy; and three great-grandchildren. A Mass was offered at St. Mary’s Church, South Amboy. Interment was in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Parlin section of Sayreville.

JOHN P. BASTEK, 81, of Sayreville died Feb. 13 in Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Surviving are his wife, Frieda Offenberger Bastek; two daughters, Bernadette MacKie of Spotswood and Barbara Bastek-Coogan of Sayreville; a son, Bruce Bastek of Monroe; and six grandchildren. A Mass was offered at Our Lady of Victories Church, Sayreville. Interment was in New Calvary Cemetery, Parlin section of Sayreville.

JOSEPH H. JURKIEWICZ, 77, of Sayreville died Feb. 16 at home. Prior to his retirement in 2001, he was employed as a supervisor for the Borough of Sayreville Building and Grounds division, where he worked for 25 years. His wife, Anna Popowski Jurkiewicz, died in 1987. Surviving are his companion, Irene McCarrick of East Brunswick; four sisters, Stella Chitren, Catherine Schlottfeld and Agnes Jurkiewicz, all of Sayreville, and Florence Prestifilippo of Bayonne; three brothers, John, Edward and Ralph Jurkiewicz, all of Sayreville; and many nieces and nephews. A Mass was offered at St. Stanislaus Church, Sayreville. Interment was in the church cemetery.

NIKOLAY CEGERENKO, 48, of Monroe, formerly of East Brunswick, died Feb. 14 in JFK Medical Center, Edison. Surviving are his wife, Jean Gorton Cegerenko; two sons, Chad Lilly and Peter Cegerenko; four daughters, Nikole Cegerenko, Alicia Cegerenko, Marissa Franz and Laura Pudov; his mother, Nadia Cegerenko; a brother, Alexander Cegerenko; two sisters, Val Jozefowicz and Mary Lyon; and two grandchildren. Memorial services are planned for noon on Feb. 22 at Calvary Chapel, Old Bridge.

JOSEPH JOHN DAUGILA SR., 81, of South River, formerly of Spotswood, died Feb. 13. Surviving are his wife, Dorothy Weseman Daugila; a son, Joseph Daugila of South River; two daughters, Karen Lach of Houston and Theresa Morgan of Flemington; a brother, John J. Daugila of Freehold; and six grandchildren. A Mass was offered at Corpus Christi Church, South River. Interment was in Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arnytown section of North Hanover. Memorial contributions may be made to Deborah Hospital Foundation, 212 Trenton Road, Browns Mills, NJ 08015.

PHILOMENA "MENA" M. PISCOPIELLO RYAN, 71, of Monroe, formerly of East Brunswick, died Feb. 15 at home. Surviving are her husband, Thomas G. Ryan; two sons, Edward of Middletown and Thomas of Cape Cod, Mass.; four daughters, Denise Yuhas of Freehold, Doreen Scoles and Michelle Zawacki, both of East Brunswick, and Barbra Ryan of Jackson; a brother, Michael Piscopiello of East Brunswick; and 12 grandchildren. A Mass was offered at St. Thoams the Apostle Church, Old Bridge. Entombment was in Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hemophilia Association of East Brunswick, 37 W. Prospect St., East Brunswick, NJ 08816.
