AMELIA JASTIVE, 64, of East Brunswick died Feb. 15 in St. Peter’s University Hospital, New Brunswick. Surviving are a brother, Danny Jastive of East Brunswick, and three nephews. A Mass was offered at Corpus Christi Church, South River. Interment
was in Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick.
MARY SACK LEPKOWSKI, 84, of Wall, formerly of South River, died Feb. 11 in Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune. Her husband, Casimir Lepkowski, died in 1998. Surviving are a daughter, Anita Williams of Wall; a son, Ronald Lepkowski of Alexandria, Va.; two sisters, Helen Przyblowski and Amelia White, both of Delaware; and two grandchildren. Services were held at Rezem Funeral Home, East Brunswick. Interment
was in St. Mary’s Cemetery, East Brunswick.
NICHOLAS ROMAN, 58, of East Brunswick died Feb. 12 at home. Surviving are his wife, Christine Nemetz Roman; two sons, Scott Andrew and Keith Joseph, both at home; his mother, Martha Roman of Edison; five brothers, Emery of the Somerset section of Franklin, Robert of the Toms River section of Dover, Donald of the Lincroft section of Middletown, Joseph of Edison and Ernest of the Avenel section of Woodbridge; and one sister, Martha Olowiany of Edison. Services were held at Brunswick Memorial Home, East Brunswick. Cremation was private. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 846 Main St., Fords, NJ 08863.
LEONARD DAVID GEORGE, 50, of the Morgan section of Sayreville died Feb. 11 at home. Mr. George was a detective with the Madison Borough Police Department, where he was employed the past 17 years. He was a member of Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, South Amboy. He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Patricia Lizik George; two daughters, Jennifer George of Newtown, Pa., and Jessica George, at home; his mother, Bettina Holden of Stillwater; his father, Joseph George of Union; a brother and sister-in-law, Ricky and Cheryl George of Monroe; a sister, Jo Ann George of Blairstown; a sister-in-law; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Feb. 13 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at The Gundrum Service Home for Funerals, South Amboy. Services will be held Feb. 14 at 9 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church. Interment

JEANNIE M. PAGANO, 62, of East Brunswick died Feb. 11 at home. She was a beautician, and supervisor at K-Mart, Sarasota, Fla., during the 1990s. She was predeceased by her husband, John Pagano, in 1993, and her father, Samuel Prozzillo. She is survived by her mother, Mary Agnes Mangino Lothrope of Bucksport, Maine; three daughters and sons-in-law, Donna and Arthur Conforti of Sarasota, Fla., Gina and Will Wlazlowski of Parlin, and Diane and John DeConie of East Brunswick; her son, Salvatore Pagano of Sarasota; her sister, Phyllis Fitzpatrick of Lewistown, Maine; two brothers, Donny Prozzillo of Philadelphia and Frank Prozzillo of Hialeah, Fla.; eight grandchildren; and two great-granddaughters. Visitation will be Feb. 16 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at The Crabiel Home for Funerals, Milltown. A funeral service will be Feb. 17 at 10:15 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by a funeral liturgy at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Peace Roman Catholic Church, North Brunswick. FRANK SANTORA, 83, of East Brunswick died Feb. 11 at Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He is survived by his wife, Margaret Ann Dailey Santora of East Brunswick; three sons, Frank Santora of Old Bridge, Edward Santora of Florida, and John Santora of South River; two daughters, Rosemary Roberts and Grace Beckett, both Old Bridge; his sister, Frances Gigantino; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Feb. 14 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at the Rezem Funeral Home, East Brunswick. A funeral service will be Feb. 15 at 8 a.m. at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 8:45 a.m. at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Old Bridge. Burial will be at Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick.
JOHN G. MacDONALD, 75, of Parlin died Feb. 10 at Madison Center, Old Bridge. He was a sheet metal worker with Union Local No. 28, New York City, for several years, retiring in 1989. He served with the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was predeceased by his wife, Frances MacDonald, in 1994. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Carolann and Matthew Fitzgerald of Parlin; a brother, William MacDonald of Keansburg; four sisters, Margaret McKenna, Mary Harding and Beatrice McGrath, all of Long Island, N.Y., and Helen De Bellis of the Bronx, N.Y.; and one grandson. Visitation will be Feb. 13 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at Michael Hegarty Funeral Home, Old Bridge. A funeral service will be Feb. 14 at 10 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by entombment at Clover Leaf Park Cemetery, Woodbridge. STANLEY J. SZURLEJ, 89, of Westfield died Feb. 9 in Kenmore Mercy Hospital, Tonawanda, N.Y. His wife, Josephine Sabat Szurlej, died in 1967. Surviving are a son, John T. Szurlej of Tonawanda; and four grandchildren, John, Jillian, Ashley and Victoria Szurlej. Services are planned for 11 a.m. on Feb. 13 at Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home, Parlin section of Sayreville. Interment
will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, also Parlin.
MARY RYAN SAWYER, 69, of Barnegat, formerly of East Brunswick, died Feb. 8 in Southern Ocean County Hospital, Manahawkin. Surviving are her husband, Clifford; two sons, Robert Sawyer of Spotswood and Clifford J. Sawyer of Barnegat; two sisters, Margaret Farrell of South Brunswick and Catherine Sosa of Dover Township; two grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. A Mass was offered at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Old Bridge. Entombment was in Holy Cross Burial Park Mausoleum, South Brunswick.
MICHAEL A. FUREY, 81, of Monroe died Feb. 6 in the Reform Church Home, Old Bridge. He served as Monroe Township tax assessor for many years and was a captain on the Monroe police force from the late 1940s-1960s. His wife, Violet S. Kokoska Furey, died in 1983. Surviving are two sons, Michael B. of Monroe and James G. of the Morganville section of Marlboro; a daughter, Virginia Furey of Monroe; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. A funeral liturgy was offered at Immaculate Conception Church, Spotswood. Interment
