FREEMAN C. RUE, 94, of Monroe, formerly of Old Bridge, died Feb. 3 in CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. His wife, Alice B., died in 1975; a grandson, George F. Matthews, died in 1996; and a great-granddaughter, Rachel Reichenberger, died in 1993. Surviving are two daughters, Thelma E. Matthews of Howell and Doris R. Tephford of Freehold Township; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson. Services were held at C.H.T. Clayton and Sons Funeral Home, Adelphia section of Howell. Interment
was in Old Tennent Cemetery, Tennent section of Manalapan.
BERNICE HARRIS CHITREN, 63, of Las Vegas, formerly of Sayreville, died Jan. 26 in Nathan Adelson Hospice, Las Vegas. Her husband, Vincent R. Chitren, died in 1991. Surviving are four sons, Douglas B. Chitren of Beatty, Nev., Phillip A. Chitren of Reno, Nev., Edward D. Chitren of Allen, Texas, and Stephen V. Chitren of Las Vegas, with whom she lived; a sister, Grace Collette of Manahawkin; her mother-in-law, Stella Chitren of Sayreville; six grandchildren; and two nephews and two nieces. Memorial services were held in Las Vegas. Local arrangements were under the direction of Maliszewski Memorial Home, Sayreville.
SUE CALIGUARI IPPOLITO, 83, of Sayreville died Feb. 8 at home. Surviving are her husband, Thomas Ippolito; a daughter, Donna Mraz of Sayreville; a brother, Sam Caliguari of Carteret; three sisters, Jane Bocchino of the Toms River section of Dover, Frances Bellotto of Woodbridge and Carmella Fazzari of Arizona; and two granddaughters. A Mass was offered at Our Lady of Victories Church, Sayreville. Entombment was in St. James Mausoleum, Woodbridge.
STEPHEN E. STROM, 51, of Monmouth Beach died Feb. 10 at home. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he resided in East Brunswick before moving to Monmouth Beach 10 years ago. He was the owner and operator of Julie’s Painting, Monmouth Beach. He received his bachelor of science degree from Duquesne University, Pittsburgh. He was predeceased by his parents, Edwin M. and Elizabeth A. Morgan Strom Jr. He is survived by two brothers, Brian Strom and Edwin Strom, both of Middletown; and three nieces, Grace, Jessica and Brianne. A funeral liturgy will be offered Feb. 14 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Leo the Great Roman Catholic Church, Lincroft section of Middletown. Burial will follow at Bay View Cemetery, Leonardo section of Middletown. MARY "MAMIE" MOROZ GLOWACKI, 76, of Monroe Township died Feb. 11 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. She was a communicant of St. Mary of Ostrabrama Roman Catholic Church, South River, where she was also a member of the Altar Rosary Society. She was predeceased by her husband, Edward Glowacki, in 1985; a daughter, Geraldine Glowacki, in 1948; a sister, Anna; and three brothers, John, Charles and Stephen. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Gail and Jody Lamoreaux of Edison, and Edwina and Ronald Cioffi; three brothers, Nicholas Moroz and Michael Moroz, of Perth Amboy, and George Moroz of the Dominican Republic; a sister, Catherine Pacansky of Woodbridge; and two grandsons. Visitation will be Feb. 14 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-9 p.m., and Feb. 15 from 8:30-9:15 a.m. at Brunswick Memorial Funeral Home, East Brunswick. A service will be conducted by St. Mary’s Altar Rosary Society Feb. 14 at 3 p.m., and a funeral service will be held Feb. 15 at 9:15 a.m. at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10 a.m. at St. Mary of Ostrabrama Church, 30 Jackson St., South River. Interment

GEORGE DOUGLAS WOODLEY, 68, of Old Bridge died Jan. 20. Prior to his retirement, he was employed by the state of New Jersey Department of Transportation. He was a retired member of the New Jersey State Law Enforcement Officers Association and an associate member of the Fraternal Order of Police, Jersey City. Surviving are his wife, Kathy W. Woodley; two daughters, Brenda Seewald and Cynthia Weaver; a son, George D. ("GD") Woodley Jr.; a brother, Will L. Woodley; five grandchildren, Seth Weaver, Chelsea Weaver, Ryan Woodley, Katie Woodley and Noah Seewald, all of Williamsport, Pa.; and many cousins. Cremation services were private.
THOMAS VAZQUEZ, 70, of Sayreville died Jan. 21 at home. His wife, Dolores Andersen Vazquez, died in 1993. Surviving are two sons, Thomas and Robert, both of Sayreville; three daughters, Lois Pavlik of the Morgan section of Sayreville, Barbara Lemerich of Maine and Susan Manzi of the Laurence Harbor section of Old Bridge; a brother, Edward Vazquez of Point Pleasant; eight grandchildren; and four stepgrandchildren. Services were held at Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home, Parlin. Interment
was in Cloverleaf Memorial Park Cemetery, Woodbridge.
HENRY A. FIOLEK, 77, of South Amboy died Jan. 20 in Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge division. He worked for the South Amboy Board of Education as a crossing guard on Main Street and Stevens Avenue for 10 years. Surviving are his wife, Theresa Biancamano Fiolek; a son, Paul Fiolek of Freehold; and three grandchildren. A Mass was offered at St. Mary’s Church, South Amboy. Entombment followed in St. Mary’s Mausoleum, South Amboy.
MARY GRACE FRAME MORVAY, 84, of the Parlin section of Sayreville, formerly of South Amboy, died Jan. 23 in Summerhill Nursing Home, Old Bridge. Prior to her retirement in 1986, she was employed as an assistant supervisor in the housekeeping department at Oakview Nursing Home, Morgan section of Sayreville, where she worked for 19 years. Her husband, Michael Morvay, died in 1986; a son, Thomas Craney, died in 1976; and a son-in-law, Donald McGloan, died in 2002. Surviving are two daughters, Sharon Kirkman of Parlin and Veronica McGloan of Morgan; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. A Mass was offered at St. Mary’s Church, South Amboy. Interment
was in the church cemetery.
GERTRUDE M. HAYDEN BOWIE, 80, of the Melrose section of Sayreville died Jan. 25 in Holmdel Convalescent Center. Her husband, Ennis Bowie, died in 1980. Surviving are three daughters, Kathleen Crowley of Manalapan, Eugenia Kellett of Sayreville and Jane Bowie of Melrose; two brothers, James Hayden of Brick and Ronald Hayden of Middletown; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
