Gerard W. Poyssick
Mr. Poyssick, 46, of Tinton Falls, died Dec. 28 at home. Born in Fair Lawn, he resided in Matawan and Florida prior to moving to Tinton Falls 20 years ago. He was an electrical engineer. He enjoyed time with his family, cooking and travel. He was predeceased by his parents, Arthur and Beverly Mindy Poyssick. He is survived by his wife, Brenda Ricci Poyssick of Tinton Falls; a brother, Arthur Poyssick of Florida; his father- and mother-in-law, Anthony and Brenda Ricci of the Cliffwood section of Aberdeen; four sisters-in-law; three brothers-in-law; and several nieces and nephews. Edward S. Perdek
Mr. Perdek, 76, of The Villages, Howell, died Nov. 25 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Born in Hazleton, Pa., he had lived in Manalapan and Freehold before moving to Howell two years ago. Prior to retiring 13 years ago, he was the business administrator/board secretary for the South River Board of Education. He had also been previously employed by the Lummus Co., Bloomfield, and United Fund, New Brunswick. During his retirement, he represented the St. Anthony Messenger. Mr. Perdek served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was a member of Knights of Columbus Freehold Council 1672. Surviving are his wife, Carol O’Donnell Perdek; two daughters, Joyce M. Walling, of Red Bank, and Janice M. Coffey, of Durham, N.C.; two grandsons; and several nieces and nephews. The funeral liturgy was celebrated at St. Rose of Lima Roman Catholic Church, Freehold, followed by interment at the parish cemetery, Freehold Township. Robert H. Shaffer
Mr. Shaffer, 83, of Hazlet, died Nov. 27 at Holmdel Healthcare Center. Born in Great Bend, Kan., he had resided in Brooklyn, N.Y., before moving to Hazlet. Mr. Shaffer was a container maintenance manager at Maersk Inc., Elizabeth, before his retirement. Prior to that, he was a terminal manager, truck driver and mechanic at Central New York Freightways for 25 years, and owned an auto body repair shop. He served with the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II. Mr. Shaffer is survived by his wife of 61 years, Geraldine Jenkins Shaffer; three daughters and sons-in-law, Donna and James Burk of Greenville, N.C., Patricia and Donald Ross of Crest Hill, Ill., and Kim and Charles Daetz of Oceanport; a sister, Marian E. Shaffer of Surprise, Ariz.; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Entombment took place at Holmdel Mausoleum. The John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown, was in charge of arrangements.
Jane Loos Taylor
Mrs. Taylor, 78, of Tinton Falls, died July 16 at home following a lengthy illness. She was born in Passaic. She was a homemaker. She enjoyed reading, the beach, and her dogs. She was predeceased by her husband, Thomas M. Taylor. She is survived by three sons and two daughters-in-law, Thomas M. and Catherine Taylor of Hamilton, George C. and Maria Taylor of Shark River Hills, and James L. "Jay" Taylor of Tinton Falls; a daughter and son-in-law, Tracy A. Taylor and John Hall of Mays Landing; a sister, Natalie L. Stonier of Toms River; 10 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Visitation will be July 20 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at Thompson Memorial Home, Red Bank. A funeral service will be July 21 at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Arabelle "Belle" Elizabeth O'Neill
Mrs. O'Neill, 84, of Red Bank, died July 14 in Red Bank. She resided in Long Branch, prior to moving to Red Bank 50 yeas ago. She was a homemaker. She was a communicant of St. James Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank. She was predeceased by two stepbrothers, Jim and Richard Murphy; a brother, William White; and a son, Rodney O'Neill. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Vincent O'Neill; a son, Brian O'Neill of Red Bank; two daughter and one son-in-law, Sueanne and Robert Belicose of Middletown, and Constance O'Neill; a brother and sister-in-law, Leo and Rose White of West Long Branch; and three grandchildren. Myrtle M. Hock
Mrs.. Hock, 82, of the Port Monmouth section of Middletown, died July 17 at Care One at Middletown. Born in Newark, she resided in Port Monmouth, and Middletown, most of her life. She was a teacher's aide at Harmony School, Middletown, for 20 years, retiring in 1999. She was a volunteer at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. She was predeceased by her husband, George W. Hock; a daughter, Lisa Hock in 1977; and a sister, Eleanor MacInnes in 2005. She is survived by three sons and two daughters-in-law, Donald and Joyce Hock of Middletown, George and Amy Hock of Andover, and Glenn Hock of Eatontown; two daughters and one son-in-law, Nancy Terhune of Middletown, and Deborah and Allan Scarangello of the Belford section of Middletown; four sisters, Florence Barelli of Charleston, S.C., Elsie Restaino of Atlantic Highlands, Dorothy D'Alessio of Little Silver, and her twin sister, Marion Clementi of Port St. Lucy, Fla.; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Michael G. Willis
Mr. Willis, 57, of Port Orange, Fla., died June 15 in Florida. He resided in Shrewsbury, prior to moving to Florida. He was a boat builder at Boston Whaler Company, Florida, for several years. He enjoyed motorcycles, and riding. He was predeceased by his parents, Willard and Helen Lange Willis. He is survived by a sister and brother-in-law, Arlene and Jacob Bloom of Red Bank; two nieces; a nephew; and several great-nieces and great-nephews. Clifford Miles Svikhart
Mr. Svikhart, 79, of Little Silver, died July 14 at home. He was born in Chicago. He was a senior vice president at the Bank of New York (formerly Irving Trust), New York City, for 40 years, retiring in 1989. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a communicant of Holy Cross Roman Catholic Church, Rumson. He was an avid golfer. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Winifred; three sons and one daughter-in-law, Miles and Susan Svikhart of Shrewsbury, John Svikhart of Atlantic Highlands, and Martin Svikhart of Baltimore; three daughters and sons-in-law, Winifred and Michael Supple of the Belford section of Middletown, Elizabeth and Charles Garner of Potomac, Md., and Ann and Dr. Tyler Richards of Fair Haven; and 12 grandchildren. Roger A. Del Russo
Mr. Del Russo, 65, of Shrewsbury, died July 3 at Atlantic Hospice, Morristown. Born in Newark, he resided in Parsippany, and Randolph, prior to moving to Shrewsbury. He was proprietor of the Beeper Factory, Middletown, and Nutley, retiring in 2003. Prior to that, he was employed in the banking industry. He was a member of the U.S. Army Reserves. He was a founding member of the Doo Wop group The Cameos. He was predeceased by a brother, Patrick Del Russo Jr. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Enna Del Russo; a son, Vincent A. Del Russo of Morris Plains; a daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and John Porada of Shrewsbury; a sister, Katherine Scott of Florida; and two granddaughters. A Mass of Christian Burial

Joseph Murray Quinn
Mr. Quinn, 62, of Fair Haven, died June 30 following a brief battle with cancer. Born in Canada, he imigrated to the United States at age 18, and resided in northern New Jersey prior to moving to Fair Haven. He owned and operated a landscape business for more than 40 years. Colleen Ann Bohl
Ms. Bohl, 44, of Point Pleasant, died July 2 at Rosegarden Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Toms River. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., she resided there and in Red Bank, prior to moving to Point Pleasant in 2003. She was an LPN at Nurse Finders of New Jersey. She was an avid skier. Mr. Mansell, of Fair Haven, died July 2 at home. Born in St. Louis, Mo., he resided there prior to moving to New Jersey. He was an electrical engineer at AT&T-Bell; Labs, Holmdel, for more than 40 years. He is survived by his wife of 389 years, Maureen; two daughters and sons-in-law, Janice and J.P. Peluso of Fair Haven, and Katie and Alex Shanley of Rumson; two brothers, John Mansell of St. Louis, and Kevin Mansell of White Fish Bay, Wis.; two sisters, Sheila Letz and Mary Catherine Turner, both of St. Louis; and five grandsons.
