EMILY DEPTULA CHAMBERS, 82, of Sayreville died Dec. 1 at home. Surviving are her husband, Arthur Chambers; three daughters, Dorothy Ruge of Monroe, Doris Novello of Keansburg and Theresa Force of the Browns Mills section of Pemberton; two sons, Steven Wands of the Colonia section of Woodbridge and Robert Chambers of Howell; 14 grandchildren; and one great-grandson. A Mass is planned for 9:30 a.m. on Dec. 5 at Our Lady of Victories Church, Sayreville. Interment
will follow in New Calvary Cemetery, Parlin section of Sayreville.
GRACE E. GRIFFIN CASTELLANO, 87, of the Parlin section of Sayreville, formerly of the Morgan section of Sayreville, died Dec. 1 in Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge division. Her husband, Frank P. Castellano, died in 1979. Surviving are three sons, Frank P. of Spotswood, Joseph of Parlin and Robert of Lakewood; a daughter, Sally Maher of Parlin, with whom she lived; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. A Mass is planned for 9:30 a.m. on Dec. 5 at St. Mary’s Church, South Amboy. Interment
will follow in New Calvary Cemetery, Parlin.
IRENE ZAKRZEWSKI WALLACE of South River died Nov. 30 in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. She was a past president and longtime member of the South River Women’s Democratic Club. She was predeceased by her husband, Henry Wallace. Surviving are a daughter, Lucille Cyr of South River, and a granddaughter, Renée Cyr, also of South River. A Mass was offered at St. Mary of Ostrabrama Church, South River. Entombment was in Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick.
RUSSELL E. SHERMAN JR., 78, of East Brunswick died Nov. 27 in St. Peter’s University Hospital, New Brunswick. Prior to his retirement in 1987, he was employed for many years as a department manager at Bradlees, East Brunswick. Surviving are his wife, Georgette Wright Sherman; three daughters, Caroline, at home, Kathryn Fregans of Jamesburg and Barbara Bernardelli of the Iselin section of Woodbridge; a brother, John Sherman of Lewisville, N.C.; a granddaughter; and a great-granddaughter. Services were held at Brunswick Memorial Home, East Brunswick. Cremation was private. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 846 Main St., Fords, NJ 08863.
BARBARA A. LYNN HRAPSKY, 46, of Bordentown died Nov. 24 in the University of Pennsylvania Hospital, Philadelphia. Surviving are her husband, Dr. Jeffrey Scott Hrapsky; her mother and father, Gloria Weyman Lynn and Dr. Charles A. Lynn Sr. of Milltown; her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Linda and Michael Hrapsky of the Somerset section of Franklin; two brothers, John William Lynn of Freehold and Dr. Charles A. Lynn Jr. of Milltown; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and nieces. Services were held at Bronson and Guthlein Funeral Home, Milltown. Cremation was private. ARTHUR B. HARDY, 67, of East Brunswick died Nov. 28 in Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge division. Surviving are his wife, Barbara Hardy; three sons, Ronald Hardy of East Brunswick, Arthur Hardy of Middlesex and Scott Hardy of Englishtown; two daughters, Helen Hardy of Wappingers Falls, N.Y., and Diane Miller of Idaho Falls, Idaho; a brother, Lawrence Hardy of Concord, N.H.; a sister, Claire Hill of West Palm Beach, Fla.; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Arrangements were under the direction of Rezem Funeral Home, East Brunswick. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
JOSEPH T. SUDNICK, 93, of South River died Nov. 11 at home. Prior to his retirement in 1965, he was employed for 35 years as a high school teacher by the South River Board of Education. Surviving are his wife, Jean Doliva Sudnick; a son, Joseph M. Sudnick of Edison; three grandchildren; a great-grandson; and many nieces and nephews. A Mass was offered at St. Mary’s Church, South River. Interment
was in St. Mary’s Cemetery, East Brunswick.
JUANITA R. VALENTIN, 89, of Old Bridge died Nov. 7 in Victorian House, Matawan. Surviving are her husband, Carmelo; two sons, Wilfredo and Eric, both of Old Bridge; two daughters, Josephine Cermak of Jersey City and Carol Balmieri of the Toms River section of Dover; 11 grandchildren; and four grandchildren. A Mass was offered at St. Ambrose Church, Old Bridge. Interment
was in Frost Woods Memorial Park, East Brunswick.
ROSE M. ORSAG DUMA, 87, of the Parlin section of Sayreville died Nov. 15 in Raritan Bay Medical Center, Perth Amboy division. Her husband, Charles, died in May. Surviving are a daughter, Dolores Latendorf of High Bridge; two sons, Richard of Parlin and Charles E. of Spotswood; and a grandchild. Private services were under the direction of Brunswick Memorial Home, East Brunswick.
JOHN H. DUNHAM of Sayreville died Nov. 13 in Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge division. Prior to his retirement, he was employed by the City of New York Police Department, retiring as a lieutenant after 30 years of service. His wife, Helen, died in 1992. Surviving is his companion, Stella Misiewicz of Sayreville. A Mass was offered at St. Stanislaus Church, Sayreville. Entombment was in Woodbridge Memorial Gardens.
