STEFANIA GOLEBIEWSKA, 66, of Jamesburg died Nov. 11 in CentraState Medical Center, Freehold. Surviving are her husband, Jozef; a daughter, Grace Matera of East Brunswick; a son, Piotr Golebiewski of Poland; a brother, Jan Klos, also of Poland; and two granddaughters. A Mass was offered at Holy Trinity Church, Helmetta. Interment
was in the church cemetery.
EDWARD P. BLECHA, 84, of Marietta, Ga., died Aug. 22 at Tranquility Hospice, Austell, Ga. Born in Newark, he had lived in Keyport and Freehold before moving to Marietta 13 years ago. Mr. Blecha was an insurance agent for State Farm Insurance Co. He was a graduate of Keyport High School and Rutgers University, New Brunswick. He was a former member of Grace Lutheran Church, Freehold. Mr. Blecha a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was predeceased by his wife, Erika Haeppner Blecha, in 1986. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Karen L. and C.J. Stiltz of Marietta; and two granddaughters. Graveside services were held at Old Tennent Cemetery, Tennent section of Manalapan.
ROBERT H. BROWN, 64, of Freehold Township died Aug. 22 at John L. Montgomery Care Center, Freehold. Born in Manhattan, N.Y., he had lived in Brooklyn before moving to Freehold Township 35 years ago. Mr. Brown was a teacher in the Marlboro School System until his retirement in 1993. He was a member of the Marlboro Teachers Association, the New Jersey Education Association, and the National Education Association. Mr. Brown is survived by a sister, Linda Broderick of Brooklyn. MARY T. FLYNN McLAUGHLIN of the Port Monmouth section of Middletown, died Aug. 25 at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Born in New York City, she resided in Hoboken before moving to Port Monmouth in 1966. She was a waitress at Dunkin’ Donuts, Middletown and Hazlet, for 25 years. She was a communicant of St. Catherine’s Roman Catholic Church, Middletown. She was predeceased by her husband, Bernard J. McLaughlin, in 1999; and a son, Brian McLaughlin, in 1976. She is survived by three sons, Sean McLaughlin of Jersey City, Joseph McLaughlin of Port Monmouth, and Michael McLaughlin of Keansburg; two daughters, Maureen Jetter of Matawan, and Anne Thorne of Jackson; two brothers, Patrick Flynn of Fort Lee, and John Flynn of Hoboken; two sisters, Anne Rogan of East Meadow, New York, and Margaret Hayes of Hoboken; five grandchildren; and one great-grandson. A funeral liturgy was offered at St. Catherine’s Roman Catholic Church. Burial was at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Middletown. Memorial donations may be made to Deborah Hospital Foundation, N.J. HARRY ALVAREZ, 81, of Freehold Township died Sunday at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Mr. Alvarez was born in New York City and had lived there before moving to Freehold Township 25 years ago. Mr. Alvarez served in both the U.S. Army and the U.S. Merchant Marine Service. He had served in both the Pacific and European theaters during World War II. He was a foreman for Eastman Kodak Co., Dayton, where he was employed for 25 years before his retirement in 1984. Surviving are his wife, Dorothy; a son, Charles Alvarez, Weston, Fla.; three daughters, Lillian Casino, Garnersville, N.Y., Mercedes Collazo, Lakewood, and Linda Alvarez-Cruz, Riverdale, N.Y.; nine grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. Interment

LUREEVA T. TAYLOR, 85, of Manalapan died Aug. 27 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Born in Jersey City, she had been a resident of Manalapan since 1972. Mrs. Taylor was a retired business woman. She was predeceased by her husband, Kenneth Taylor, in 1999. Surviving are two brothers, Douglas Taylor of Whiting and Donald Taylor of Toms River; and six nieces and nephews. A graveside service was held at Bound Brook Cemetery, Bound Brook. PETER J. BLAKE JR., 86, of Freehold Township, died Aug. 28 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Born in Utica, N.Y., he had lived in Colts Neck for 45 years before moving to Freehold Township one year ago. Mr. Blake was a legislative assistant for the U.S. Congress, Washington, D.C. Before that, he was the director of economic development for the State of New Jersey during the late 1960s and early 1970s, and was an international sales manager for Minneapolis Moline, Minneapolis. He received his bachelor of arts degree from Duke University, Durham, N.C., in 1940 and a master’s degree in economics from the University of Chile, Santiago, Chile, in 1941. Mr. Blake was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and served in the Reserve for many years, retiring as lieutenant commander. He was a communicant of St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, Colts Neck, and a member of the Democratic Club of Colts Neck. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council No. 1672 and American Legion Post No. 54, both of Freehold. Mr. Blake is survived by his wife, Teresita Jordan Blake; four sons and daughters-in-law, Peter J. III and Michele Blake of Shreveport, La., Patrick B. and Lois Blake of Cranford, Paul A. and Linda Blake of Mesa, Ariz., and William G. and Mary Blake of Holliston, Mass; five daughters and sons-in-law, Teresita and John Kellenyi of Maplewood, Carmen and Pete Matthews of Freehold Township, Angelica and Randy Gero of Howell, Cristina and Jeff Gero of Wall, and Elena and Doug Weber of Freehold Township; and 29 grandchildren. A funeral liturgy was celebrated at St. Mary’s Church, followed by interment at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold Township.
OSCAR KETCHAM JR., 86, of Englishtown, died Aug. 28 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Mr. Ketcham was born in Freehold Township, where he lived until moving to Englishtown four years ago. He was a plant foreman for Reed & Perrine Inc., Tennent section of Manalapan, until his retirement three years ago. During that time, he also was a farmer and worked at Boxwood Farms, Englishtown, and Frank’s Auto Repairs, Englishtown. He was a member of the Adelphia Fire Company, Howell, where he was a former president, was chief in 1941 and 1942, and the department’s oldest exempt member. He was active in the department for more than 25 years. Mr. Ketcham was predeceased by two brothers, Albert and Eugene Sr. Surviving are his wife, Evelyn Matthews Ketcham; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Russel and Betty Dronne of Freehold Township, Glenn Ketcham of Howell, and Stanley and Deborah Ketcham Sr. of Freehold; two daughters and sons-in-law, S. Darlene and Richard W. Kneisler of Freehold Township, and Charlene and Frank Ulatowski Sr. of Englishtown; a brother, Paul Ketcham of Freehold; 19 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. A funeral service was held at C.H.T. Clayton & Son Funeral Home, Adelphia section of Howell, with the Rev. Charles R. Valentine officiating. Interment
followed at Adelphia Cemetery, Adelphia.
ANTOINETTE DANAPAS, 81, of Freehold Township, died Aug. 19 at the Monmouth County Care Center John L. Montgomery Division, Freehold Township. Born in Raggusso, Italy, she had lived in the Bay Ridge section of Brooklyn, N.Y., before moving to Freehold Township in 1988. Mrs. Danapas was an administrative assistant at the Fontbonne Academy, Brooklyn, N.Y., from 1966 to 1984. She was then a bookkeeper for Bay Ridge Medical Supply, Bay Ridge, for four years. Surviving are her husband, William A. Danapas; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Karen and George Adjami of Middletown, Jane Danapas of Bay Ridge, and Maria and Clifford Johnson of San Diego; seven grandchildren and one great-grandson. The funeral liturgy was celebrated at St. Rose of Lima Roman Catholic Church, Freehold, followed by interment at Fair View Cemetery, Middletown.
FRED W. DAUM, 88, of Freehold Township, died Aug. 19 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Mr. Daum was born in Manalapan, where he lived before moving to Freehold Township. He was a farmer in Manalapan since 1945. He also was the superintendent of the Englishtown Public Works Department from 1966 until his retirement in 1980. He was a 57-year member of Old Tennent Presbyterian Church, Tennent section of Manalapan, where he held all the offices in the church, including deacon, elder and trustee. Mr. Daum was a former 4H leader; a member of the Monmouth County Board of Agriculture, where he was named Young Farmer of the Year; a 20-year member of the Manalapan-Englishtown Regional School District sBoard of Education, where he served as president for 10 years; a member of the board of directors of the YMCA; a member of Monmouth Grange No. 92; a member of the board of directors of the Production Credit, a farm cooperative; a member of the board of directors of Manalapan Cemetery; and a volunteer at Samaritan Center, Englishtown, and Longstreet Farm, Holmdel. Mr. Daum is survived by his wife of 63 years, Jane Ash Daum; three sons, Peter H. Daum of Shoreham, N.Y., Henry Daum of Freehold Township and Roy K. Daum of Wall; two daughters, Carolyn D. Kaempffer of Colts Neck and Linda Brown of Jamestown, R.I.; a brother, George Daum of Seattle; 12 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at Old Tennent Church with the Rev. Dr. Hugh A. MacKenzie officiating, followed by interment at the church cemetery.
