JAMES THEODORE WALKER, 82, of East Brunswick died Aug. 19 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Mr. Walker served with the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church, East Brunswick. His first wife, Margaret K. Walker, died in 1985. Mr. Walker is survived by his wife, Helen Pikul Walker; a son and daughter-in-law, James Scott Walker and Adrianne Spota of Marlboro; a daughter and son-in-law, Robin Susan and Ronald Taylor of Dallas; four stepchildren; and four grandchildren. A memorial service was held at Trinity Presbyterian Church, East Brunswick. Burial was at Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick. JOSEPH CANNICI, 87, of East Brunswick, died Aug. 20 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II and was the recipient of the Purple Heart and a Distinguished Unit Badge with two Oak Leaf Clusters. He was a communicant of St. Bartholomew Roman Catholic Church, East Brunswick. He was predeceased by five brothers, and two sisters. Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Fanny Capitumino Cannici of East Brunswick; three daughters and sons-in-law, Elise and Ted Grosch of Marlboro, Kathy and Matthew Brown of East Brunswick, and Anita and Joseph Sciarrotta of Davie, Fla.; his sister, Minnie DeLuca of Sunrise, Fla.; and four grandchildren. CLAUDE K. CORNELL, 85, of Applewood Estates, Freehold Township, died Aug. 5 at home. Born in Freehold, he was a lifelong resident. Mr. Cornell was an engineering technician for the U.S. government at Fort Monmouth until he retired in 1972. He was a paratrooper in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Freehold and taught Sunday school there for many years. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Freehold Post; American Legion Post 54; and the YMCA Volunteers for Monmouth Youth. Mr. Cornell was predeceased by his wife, Jean, and a brother, Russell. He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Sally Cornell of Matawan; two daughters and a son-in-law, Jean Ann Huck of Abington, Pa., and Pattie and Bill Chambers of Freehold; and six grandchildren. Interment
took place at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold Township.
CARMINE ANTHONY IANNACONE, 78, of East Brunswick died Aug. 5 in CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Surviving are his wife, Rita Pivetta Iannacone; two sons, Carmine Iannacone of East Brunswick and Steven Iannacone of Holland, Mich.; two daughters, Linda Tremper of Jackson and Janet Korsos of Freehold; a sister, Maffalda Casola of Brooklyn, N.Y.; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. A Mass was offered at Corpus Christi Church, South River. Interment
was in Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick.
LENEA HOLSTROM HARTMAN, 90, of Spotswood, formerly of Old Bridge and Monroe, died Aug. 5 in Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Her husband, George Hartman Jr., died in 1992. Surviving are a son, George Hartman III of Monroe; four daughters, Ethel Meirose of Homosassa, Fla., Diane Gambino of the Parlin section of Sayreville, Barbara Kolodziejski of South River and Nancy Fonseca of Manalapan; a brother, John Holstrom of Tucson, Ariz.; 14 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. Services were held at Eckman Funeral Home, Spotswood. Interment

VIRGINIA M. ASHWORTH, 83, of Jackson died Aug. 6 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. She was born in Union and lived in Freehold before moving to Jackson in 1992. Mrs. Ashworth was a bookkeeper for the Lincroft Inn, Lincroft, where she was employed for 20 years before retiring in 1985. She was a communicant of St. Aloysius Roman Catholic Church in Jackson. She was predeceased by her husband, Franklin J. Ashworth in 1999. She is survived by two sons, Donald C. Ashworth of Freehold and James T. Ashworth of Dunellen; a daughter, Barbara R. Isele of Jackson; three brothers, Richard and Daniel Hall, both of Forked River and Charles Hall of Union; four grandchildren and a great-grandson. Funeral services were held at Higgins Memorial Home in Freehold. Interment

BARBARA J. DOLAN PRESCOTT, 54, of the Laurence Harbor section of Old Bridge died Aug. 6 at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Born in Long Branch, she was a lifelong resident of Laurence Harbor. She was a picker and packer at L’Oreal, Dayton section of South Brunswick. She was predeceased by her mother, Eleanor Rogers Dolan in 1995. She is survived by her father, Raymond Dolan of Hazlet; her husband, Edward W. Prescott Sr. of Laurence Harbor; her son, Edward W. Prescott Jr.; her sister, Eleanor Dolan of the West Keansburg section of Hazlet; her brother and sister-in-law, Raymond and Eileen Dolan Jr. of Howell; two grandchildren; and three nieces.
SOL GORSKY, 80, of Manalapan, died Aug. 8 at Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune. He is survived by his wife, Anne Gorsky; his son, Howard Gorsky; his daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Ira Ehrenfeld; and one granddaughter. Burial was at Cedar Park Cemetery, Paramus. ROBERT SHERBERT, 79, of Old Bridge died Aug. 14 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II. A daughter, Mary Lee Blanchett, predeceased him in 1997. Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Margaret Spak Sherbert of Old Bridge; a son and daughter-in-law, Robert A. and Marjorie Sherbert of Howell; a son-in-law, the Rev. Deacon Edward Blanchett of Emmetsburg, Md.; two sisters, Doris Grempler of Lanham, Md., and Bette Detraz of Jacksonville, Fla.; and three grandchildren.
MARK GENE OLSEN, 56, of Keyport died Aug. 16 at home. Mr. Olsen was originally from Jersey City. He was part owner of Yellow Taxi Cab Service, Red Bank. Prior to that, he worked at United Parcel Service, Edison, for 25 years, retiring in 1996. He served with the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. Mr. Olsen is survived by a daughter, Sheryl Scully of Marlboro; a son, Brian Olsen of Hazlet; his former wife, Diane Olsen of Hazlet; a brother and sister-in-law, Kevin and Toni Olsen of Kearny; a sister, Christine Dempsey of Chino, Calif.; three grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at Jesus the Lord Roman Catholic Church, Keyport, followed by entombment at Holmdel Cemetery
