WILLIAM EDWARD IVERSON, 89, of Freehold died Feb. 18 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. He was born in Keyport and lived in Freehold most of his life. He served in the U.S. Navy. He was a janitor for 3M, Freehold Township, before retiring 34 years ago. Prior to that, he was employed at the former A&M Karagheusian Rug Mill and as a corrections officer for the Monmouth County Correction Institution, both in Freehold. Surviving are his wife, Irene Lloyd Iverson; a son, Ralph Iverson of Freehold; two brothers, Vincent Paul "Hezzie" Iverson and Ernest "Mike" Iverson, both of Freehold; a sister, Madeline Merrick of Freehold Township; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Interment
was in Maplewood Cemetery, Freehold Township.
ELIZABETH HANLON DECHER, 75 of Toms River died April 17 at Community Medical Center, Dover Township. She was born in Freehold and lived in Toms River for several years. She was a nurses aide at Monmouth Medical Center, Marlboro Psychiatric Hospital, and Jersey Shore Medical Center before her retirement. Surviving are two sons, William Decher, New Port Richey, Fla., and Bruce Decher, Hazlet; a daughter, Georgia Decher Toms River; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Marion and Ellard Conover, St. Petersburg, Fla., and Linda and Gary Clark, Freehold; and seven grandchildren. Interment
was in St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold Township.
PAUL L. TRAVIA SR., 86, of Freehold Township died April 19 at Bartley Manor, Jackson. Born in Milwaukee, he had lived in Howell and Baldwin, N.Y., before moving to Freehold Township. He was a banker for Chase Manhattan Bank, New York, N.Y., where he was employed for 15 years before retiring 25 years ago. He was predeceased by his wife, Angela Gentile Travia, in 1994. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Paul L. Jr. and Linda Travia of Freehold Township; a daughter-in-law, Beatrice Travia of Staten Island, N.Y.; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Interment

MARY K. FARIELLO, 68, of Freehold Township died April 22 at her daughter’s home in Freehold Township. She was born in Freehold and was a lifelong resident. She was head of statistics at Marlboro Psychiatric Hospital, Marlboro, where she was employed for 31 years before retiring 11 years ago. She was treasurer of the Silvermead Community Club, Freehold Township. Surviving are her husband, Frank Fariello; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Mary Jo Barrett of Crozet, Va., and her fiancé, James McAllister Jr., Cathy and Walter Normann of Freehold Township, and Laurie and Daniel Tymesko of Jackson; two sisters, Therese Smith and Dorothy Turner, both of Freehold; ten grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. Interment
was in St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold Township.
MARTIN A. KANOWITZ, 73, of Jackson died April 22 at Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune. Born and raised in Brooklyn, N.Y., he lived in Jackson for the past 13 years. He was a butcher for Waldbaums in Brooklyn, N.Y., for more than 40 years, retiring in 1994. He was involved in the Seniors Who Care organization of Jackson, and the choral group in the Winding Ways development in Jackson. Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Myrna; a son and daughter-in-law, Ira and Michele Kanowitz of Marlboro; a daughter and son-in-law, Jodi and Neal Mintz of Perrineville; a brother, Bernard Kanowitz of Florida; a sister, Shirley Rosenthal of Florida; and seven grandchildren. was in Beth David Cemetery, Elmont, N.Y.
MARY CATHERINE REILLY, 95, of Lakewood died April 13 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. She was born in Holmdel and lived in Atlantic Highlands for 37 years, in Tomaso Plaza Seniors Residence in Middletown for 11 years, and in Lakewood for three years. She was a store clerk at Sidney Heifetz Franklin Stores, Atlantic Highlands. She was a former communicant of St. Agnes Roman Catholic Church, Atlantic Highlands, and St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, New Monmouth. She was predeceased by her husband, James J. Reilly II, in 1965. Surviving are three sons, James Reilly III of Navesink, John Reilly, with whom she lived in Lakewood, and Thomas Reilly of Sewell; two daughters, Teresa Eldridge of Cream Ridge, and Patricia Koeser of Mount Pocano, Pa.; a brother, John Bennett; 22 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. Interment

VERA O. JONES JENNINGS, 78, of East Brunswick died April 16 in Care One, East Brunswick. Her husband, Daniel, died in 1993, and a grandchild, Kerri SanFilippo, died in 1997. Surviving are her significant other, John; a daughter, Karen SanFilippo of Freehold; two sisters, Elizabeth McKeon of Waterbury, Conn., and Shirley Deitzer of Jackson; a grandson; and two great-grandchildren. Services were held at Brunswick Memorial Home, East Brunswick. Entombment was in Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick. BRIDGETTE BURKE WIECZOREK of Old Bridge died April 14 at home. Surviving are her husband, Martin Wieczorek; a stepson, Martin Wieczorek Jr. of Keansburg; a stepdaughter, Christal Sheridan of South Amboy; two brothers, Frank Patlano of Boonton and James Burke of Manalapan; and four grandchildren. A Mass was offered at St. Mary of Ostrabrama Church, South River. Interment
was in Chestnut Hill Cemetery, East Brunswick.
JOSEPH ARBACZAWSKI, 56, of Missoula, Mont., died April 9 at home. He was a graduate of Freehold High School, attended Trenton State College, and graduated from Indiana University. He worked as a microbiologist for the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Atlanta. He founded Robarb Inc., a swimming pool and spa chemical corporation based in Atlanta. He was the inventor of Crystal Clear, a water clarifier for swimming pools. In 1992, he sold the company that had grown to producing and distributing 40 products worldwide. He was predeceased by his parents, Jeanette and Joseph Arbaczawski. Surviving are a brother, Ronald Arbaczawski of Freehold, a daughter, Laura Arbaczawski of Kansas City, Mo., and a grandson.
JEAN DOOLING MINNICK, 73, of Middletown died April 9 at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center, New York City. Born in Sayreville, she resided in South Amboy before moving to Middletown 20 years ago. Mrs. Minnick was a member of St. James Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank, and a former member of St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, South Amboy. She was predeceased by a brother, John Dooling, in 1973. She is survived by her husband, Frank J. Minnick of Middletown; three sons, Frank Minnick of Shrewsbury, John Minnick of Middletown, and Thomas Minnick of Howell; a daughter, Kathy Fowler of Shrewsbury; and nine grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, South Amboy, followed by interment in the parish cemetery.
