MANDEL LAMHUT, 82, of Freehold Township died Jan. 28 at Bartley Manor, Jackson Township. He was born in New York City and lived in Freehold for the last 49 years. He was president of Paul Mark Printing, operating in Freehold since 1964. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and the Korean War and was in the U.S. Army Reserve for 18 years. He was a member and past commander of Oglensky Jackson Post. No. 359, Jewish War Veterans of the United States of America, Freehold, county commander of the Jewish War Veterans, a member of Veteran of Foreign Wars Post No. 4373, Freehold, and Battleground Centennial Lodge No. 100, Knights of Pythias. Surviving are his wife, Shirley Ashpitz Lamhut; three sons, Paul of Brick Township, and Mark and Howard, both of Freehold; two daughters, Carol Lamhut, Brick, and Elfriede Lamhut, Freehold; a brother, Morris Lamhut, Savannah, Ga.; and two grandchildren. Interment

FRANK G. WARNER, 91, of Farmingdale died Jan. 29 at Care One at Holmdel. He was born in Union City and lived in Freehold Township before moving to Farmingdale 17 years ago. He was employed at Central Jersey Bank and Trust Company, Freehold, for 31 years before his retirement as a vice president in 1977. Prior to that he was employed at Second National Bank, Red Bank, for 17 years. He was an instructor for the American Institute of Banking, a former president of the National Association of Bank Auditors and Comptrollers, and a member of the Monmouth County Bankers Association. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Freehold, where he was a member of the choir for 46 years, and a member of the board of trustees, memorial committee, and administrative board of the church. He was a member of Holland Orchards Golf Club, Marlboro Township, and was treasurer of the Men’s Golf Association. He was predeceased by his wife, Helen Massey Warner, in 1982. Surviving are three sons, Frank F. Warner, Kennett Square, Penn., David Warner, Freehold Township, and Jack Warner, Jackson Township; three daughters, Betsy Taylor, North Palm Beach, Fla., Judith Myrs, Red Bank, and Karen Warner, Freehold Township; 13 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Memorial services were held at the First United Methodist Church, Freehold, Feb. 1. Memorial donations may be made to the memorial fund of First United Methodist Church, 91 W. Main, Freehold, 07728.
JOSEPH F. LOPES, 77, of Tinton Falls died Feb. 2 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in New York City, he moved to Middletown in 1954 and resided there and in Keansburg before moving to Tinton Falls seven years ago. Mr. Lopes was senior vice president at Brunswick Bank & Trust Co., East Brunswick, retiring in 1995. Prior to that, he held management positions at several local banks and was New Jersey State Bank Examiner for the State of New Jersey for 25 years. He served with the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a communicant of St. Leo the Great Roman Catholic Church, Lincroft section of Middletown. He was a former communicant of St. Catherine’s Roman Catholic Church, North Middletown, for more than 30 years. His activities included golf. He is survived by his wife, Joan Mathison Lopes; his son and daughter-in-law, Christopher and Nanci Lopes, and his daughter and son-in-law, Beth and Larry Kopp, all of Tinton Falls; his sister, Josephine Lopes of Jackson Heights, N.Y.; and four grandchildren. A funeral liturgy was offered at St. Leo the Great Roman Catholic Church, Lincroft. Entombment was at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Middletown.
WILLIAM L. BARCLAY, 80, of Whiting died Feb. 2 at St. Barnabas Hospice, Long Branch. Born in Hart Hill, Scotland, he resided in Rumson, Middletown, and Staten Island, N.Y., before moving to Whiting two years ago. Mr. Barclay was the retired owner and operator of Jim’s Automotive Paint & Body, Staten Island. He was a member of the Lakehurst Presbyterian Church. He was a member of the Elks Lodge of Springfield. His activities included time with his family and travel. He was predeceased by his wife of 55 years, Lois Watkins Barclay, in 1999. He is survived by his son, Laird Barclay; two daughters and sons-in-law, Sandra L. and Anthony Carasia of Fair Haven, and Kimberly A. and George Landi of Barnegat; three sisters, Cathie Pastrof, Cis Pastrof and Ella McMunn, all of Lakehurst; and eight grandchildren. was at Hollywood Memorial Park, Union.
RONALD K. STECK, 70, of Bunker Hill, W. Va., formerly of Middletown, died Feb. 1 at home. Born in Jersey City, he resided in Middletown for 25 years prior to moving to Bunker Hill 10 years ago. He was a senior technical assistant at AT&T, Holmdel, for 39 years, retiring in 1989. He served with the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict. He was a member of King of Kings Lutheran Church, New Monmouth section of Middletown. He was predeceased by his wife, Jennie Williams Steck in 1988. He is survived by four daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Steven Silverstein of West Long Branch, Sharon and Ben Barresi of Little Silver, Jeanne and Chris Risafi of Freehold, and Diane and Jimmy McDonald of Middletown; his sister and brother, Carol Steck and Robert Steck, both of New Jersey; and nine grandchildren. Visitation will be Feb. 7 from 9-11 a.m. at John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown. A funeral service will follow at the funeral home. Burial will be at Washington Monumental Cemetery, South River.
DAVID W. TIMIDAISKI, 79, of Colts Neck died Jan. 30 at Rahway Hospital, Rahway. He was born in Colts Neck and resided there most of his life. He worked as a sales manager for Lawes Fuel Oil, Shrewsbury. He was an Army fighter pilot during World War II. He was a member of St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, Colts Neck, and a former member of the Colts Neck Shade Tree Commission. Surviving are his wife Peggy Timidaiski of Colts Neck; two sons and a daughter-in-law, David Timidaiski of Eatontown, and Joseph Timidaiski and Kathleen Tanner of Lawsonville, N.C.; a daughter and son-in-law, Kathleen and John Rener of Middletown; a brother, James of Issaquah, Wash.; a sister, Leona Congell of Atlantic Highlands; and two grandchildren. A funeral liturgy was held at St. Mary’s Church. Interment
was private.
JOHN T. GREGA, 82, of Freehold Township died Jan. 7 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. He was born in Passaic and lived in the Freehold area all his life. He was the owner and operator of GM Repairs, Freehold Township, for 26 years, retiring five years ago. Prior to that he was service manager at S.B. King and Son, Freehold. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and served in the South Pacific. He was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Roman Catholic Church, Freehold; a member of American Legion Post No. 54 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 4374, both of Freehold; and a member of the Christian Brothers Academy Father’s Club, Lincroft. He was a graduate of Freehold High School, class of 1939. He was predeceased by two brothers, Joseph and George Grega; and two sisters, Pauline Curley and Matilda Pfeifer. Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Jeanne Filard Grega; three sons, John G. Grega, Anchorage, Alaska, Michael J. Grega, Freehold Township, and Charles P. Grega, Farmingdale; a daughter, Jeanne L. Blaker, Freehold; a brother, Steve Grega, Farmingdale; two sisters, Anna Marazita, Freehold, and Mary Vasseur, Florence, Ky.; six grandchildren; and one great-grandson. MARIAN RUSSO, 62, of Englishtown died Jan. 14 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold. She was born in Plainfield and lived in North Brunswick before moving to Englishtown 11 years ago. She was predeceased by her husband, Jacob Russo. Surviving are a daughter, JoAnn Mattei of Clarksburg; three sons, Michael and Edward Russo of Englishtown, and John Russo of North Brunswick; two sisters, Cathleen Bodo of Ocala, Fla., and Jean Cherneski of Somerset; and seven grandchildren. Interment
took place in Franklin Memorial Park, North Brunswick.
ROSE BACK, 98, of Englishtown, died Jan. 13 at The Manor Care Center, Freehold Township. Born in Hungary, she resided in Old Bridge for 15 years prior to moving to Englishtown three years ago. She was a lifelong member of Hadassah, and past president of the Menorah Society of New York. She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Back in 1992. She is survived by two sons, Meyer Back of San Francisco, Calif., and Carl Back of Old Bridge; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Funeral services were at Cedar Park Cemetery, Paramus.
LAWRENCE "CHUCK" W. CORNELL, 85, of Hillsborough, formerly of Freehold Borough, died Jan. 10 at home. Born in Englishtown, he had lived in Freehold Borough and Somerville before moving to Hillsborough. Mr. Cornell was a sales representative for Houdaille Construction Materials, Bound Brook, for 22 years, retiring in 1982. He was an exempt member of the Englishtown Fire Department and the Monmouth Hose Company, Freehold. He was also a member of the Olive Branch Lodge No. 16, Free and Accepted Masons, Freehold. He was predeceased by a brother, Vernon, two years ago. Mr. Cornell is survived by his wife, Erma; two sons, Lawrence R. of Palmetto, Fla., and Robert J. of Hillsborough; and two grandsons. Interment
