Timothy T. Raymond
Mr. Raymond, 51, of Monmouth Beach, died March 23 in New Brunswick. Born in Red Bank, he resided in Rumson, prior to relocating to Monmouth Beach in 1995. He was the president of Insure Solutions, Aberdeen. Prior to that, he served as president of Freetex Management Services Inc., New York City, and owned the thoroughbred brokerage firm Eastern Bloodstock Agency for 20 years. He was a communicant of and usher at Church of the Precious Blood, Monmouth Beach. He was active in the Knights of Columbus, and the Monmouth County SPCA, Eatontown. He is survived by his wife, Melinda; his mother, Joan Raymond; three sisters, Kim, Brenda and Linda, and their husbands; and several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial

Jacoba C. Bifani
Mrs. Bifani, 92, of Red Bank, died March 21 at Avante at Red Bank. Born in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, she resided in Holmdel before moving to Red Bank 15 years ago. Mrs. Bifani was a homemaker. She was predeceased by her husband of 47 years, August P. Bifani, in 1983. She is survived by three sons, Paul G. Bifani of Wyckoff, August A. Bifani of Fort Myers, Fla., and Robert J. Bifani of Little Silver; two sisters, Catherine Cavalieri of Highland Falls, N.Y., and Marie Fitzgerald of New Paltz, N.Y.; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Interment

Donald Evan Lawes Jr.
Mr. Lawes, 79, of Little Silver, and Vero Beach, Fla., died March 15 in Melbourne, Fla., from head injuries sustained in a fall. He was chairman of Lawes Oil Company, Shrewsbury, begun by his father in 1926. He was also involved with the New Jersey Fuel Merchants Association. He enjoyed time with his family, golf and boating. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Eleanor "Em" Lawes; a daughter and son-in-law, Phyllis and Robert McNerney of Harvard, Mass.; two sons and daughters-in-law, Donald and Darcy Lawes III of Little Silver, and William and Ann Lawes of Rumson; a sister, Barbara Mercer of Rumson; and eight grandchildren. A memorial service was held at Christ Church, Shrewsbury. Interment

Eileen Clare McMahon
Mrs. McMahon, 79, of Red Bank, died March 16 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank, following complications from a stroke. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., she resided in Somerset, prior to moving to Red Bank in 1998. She also resided in Europe, the Far East, and areas of the United States when her husband was stationed with the U.S. Army. She was a homemaker. She enjoyed time with her family. She was predeceased by her husband, Col. John F. McMahon in 1982; and a daughter, Susan Clare in 1993. She is survived by a son, John McMahon of Somerset; two daughters and one son-in-law, Kathleen of Red Bank, and Patricia and Frank Previte of Hopewell; two sisters, Margaret Colvell of Hicksville, N.Y., and Kathleen Maher of Brielle; a brother, Michael Noone of Pennsylvania; and a grandson. Gordon Ritchie Smith, M.D.
Dr. Smith, 79, of Shrewsbury, died March 16 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in Aurora, Ill., he relocated to the Monmouth County area as a youth, and resided in Rumson for 30 years prior to moving to Shrewsbury. He was a retired chief of staff of OB/GYN at Riverview Medical Center. Prior to that, he was an obstetrician and gynecologist, and general practitioner in the Monmouth County area for 40 years. He served with the U.S. Navy during World War II. He enjoyed sailing and skiing. He was predeceased by his first wife, Maydawn DeVoe Smith. He is survived by his wife, Susan T. Smith; a son and daughter-in-law, David R. and Kimberly S. Smith of Fair Haven; a daughter and son-in-law, Christie D. Smith and Imtiaz Haq of Merced, Calif.; a stepdaughter, Lauren M. Stokes of Shrewsbury; a sister, Jean Beer of Delray Beach, Fla.; and three grandchildren. A memorial service was held at First Presbyterian Church at Red Bank-Tower Hill. Phyliss A. Skogsrud Young
Mrs. Young, 81, of Shrewsbury, died April 9 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in Kearny, she resided in Middletown, prior to moving to Shrewsbury in September. She was a homemaker. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Harold Young; a daughter, Nancy Patricia McQuade of East Stroudsburg, Pa.; a son, Stephen Young of Keansburg; a sister, Dorothea Mollenhauer of Lansdale, Pa.; a daughter-in-law, Nancy Young of the Port Monmouth section of Middletown; and four grandsons. Gerald "Jerry" A. Cupples
Mr. Cupples, 88, of Fair Haven, died April 2 at Meridian Health Care, Red Bank. Born in Fair Haven, he was a lifelong resident. He was self taught in radio an TV electronics, and was a retired tool and die machinist. He was a former Sunday school teacher at Fair Haven Methodist Church. He was predeceased by his wife, Mary Patricia Boyle Cupples; and a daughter, Charlotte Heath in 1997. He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas J. and Barbara Cupples of Pearl River, N.Y., and Gerald P. and Bunnie Cupples of Neptune City; and a son-in-law, John Heath of North Carolina. Sarah Power Johnson
Mrs. Johnson, 84, of Red Bank, died March 9 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in Marlboro, she had been a resident of Red Bank for nearly 80 years. She was a communicant of St. James Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank, and an active member of St. James Senior Citizens Group. She was also a member of the Red Bank Senior Center Book Club. Mrs. Johnson was predeceased by her husband of 52 years, Edward "Bud" Johnson; a sister, Helen Power Davis; and a grandson, Tyler Johnson. She is survived by two sons and one daughter-in-law, Ned Johnson, and Stephen and Kathleen Johnson; four daughters and two sons-in-law, Barbara Twigg, Suzanne Colville, Sally and Andrew Vogt, and Lee and Daryl Tefteller; 16 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Adele Johnson Matthews; and two nephews. A Mass of the Resurrection was celebrated at St. James Church, followed by burial at St. Gabriel's Cemetery, Marlboro. The Thompson Memorial Home, Red Bank, was in charge of arrangements.
Silvio Sama
Mr. Sama, 80, of Red Bank, died April 22. Born in St. Andrea, Calabria, Italy, he immigrated to the United States in 1947. He was a lifelong resident of Red Bank. Before his retirement, Mr. Sama was an employee of the Monmouth County Highway Department, Freehold. He served with the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank. He was predeceased by two sisters, Marta Riverso and Antoinetta DeCarlo; and a nephew, Rudolph Sama. Mr. Sama is survived by three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Domenick and Antonette Sama, Bruno and Vittoria Sama, and Louis Sama; and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Theresa Krushinski
Mrs. Krushinski, 73, of Freehold, died April 25 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Born in Plains, Pa., she had lived in Woodbridge, Lincroft and Red Bank before moving to Freehold 16 years ago. Mrs. Krushinski was a homemaker. She was a member of the First Assembly of God Church, Freehold Township. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Frank Krushinski Jr.; two sons, Frank Krushinski III of Merchantville and Carl F. Krushinski of Cream Ridge; a daughter, Elaine Johnson of Brandon, Fla.; a sister, Lorraine Banas of Mountain Top, Pa.; and eight grandchildren. Lolita Mijares Gongora
Mrs. Gongora, 75, of Red Bank, died April 14 at home. Born in the Philippines, she moved to the United States in 1955. She was employed in the housekeeping and dietary departments at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank, for several years, retiring in 1998. She was a communicant of St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank. She was a member of the Fil-American Club, and received her bachelor of science degree at Luzon University. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Simon; three sons and one daughter-in-law, Simon Gongora Jr. of Clifton, Dave and Diane Gongora of Shallotte, N.C., and Patrick Gongora of Red Bank; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Theresa Holland of Bonita Springs, Fla., Esther Anstine-Smith and James Van Cleave of Stafford Va., Ruth Sallie and Stan Tillman of Rumson, and Magdalene and James Hutton of Barnegat; seven brothers, Cesar Mijares of Morristown; Aristoteles Mijares of Ocean Township; Rufino Mijares of Quezon City, Philippines; Daniel Mijares of Orlando, Fla.; Angel Mijares of Neptune; Rizal Mijares of Eatontown; and Catalino Mijares Jr. of Mililani, Hawaii; four sisters, Donatela Parajas of West Park, N.Y., Remedios Odon and Aurora Regaspi, both of Ocean Township, and Angelina Corpuz of Neptune; and eight grandchildren.
