HARRY W. SASSAMAN, 87, of South River died June 7. He was the president and founder of Comet Electrical Contractors, North Brunswick, and Saturn Electrical Contractors, South Brunswick. Surviving are two sons, Harry J. Sassaman of South River and Phillip Sassaman of Mount Vernon, N.Y.; a daughter, Madaline Sassaman of South River; a sister, Marie Schied of Key West, Fla.; and four grandchildren. Interment
was in Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arnytown section of North Hanover.
HELEN MIARA LAJEWSKI, 92, of Sayreville died June 16 in St. Peter’s University Hospital, New Brunswick. Prior to her retirement, she was employed as a seamstress with Burman Sportswear, South River, where she worked for 30 years. Her husband, Benjamin "Jack" Lajewski, died in 1976, and a daughter, Dorothy Krainski, died in 1993. Surviving are two sons, Ralph Lajewski of Woodbridge and Richard Lajewski of North Brunswick; a sister, Irene Krosnowski of Sayreville; 10 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. A Mass is planned for 9 a.m. on June 19 at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Sayreville. Interment
will follow in the church cemetery.
VIRGINIA BLUM KORZUN, 74, of North Brunswick, died June 30 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Born in Hightstown, she has resided in North Brunswick the past 46 years. She was a staff members at Rutgers Student Health Department, New Brunswick, for more than 12 years, retiring in 1985. Prior to that, she was a registered nurse in New York and New Jersey. She was a member of Christ Church Episcopal, New Brunswick. She was a member of The League of Women Voters, and taking part in the Boy and Girl Scout activities. She was predeceased by a son, Andrews J. Korzun, in 1983. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, John N. Korzun of North Brunswick; her daughter, Dr. Barbara J. Korzun of Upper Black Eddy, Pa.; two sons, Dr. Jonathan N. Korzun of Dowagiac, Mich., and Timothy J. Korzun of Lambertville; her sister, Mary Warren of Levittown, Pa.; four grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. A memorial service was at Christ Church Episcopal, New Brunswick. WILLIAM J. HENCKLER, 93, of East Brunswick died July 2 at home. Born in St. Louis, Mo., he relocated to East Brunswick in 1931. He worked as office manager at Anheuser-Busch. He was a communicant of St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Old Bridge, and Corpus Christi Church, South River. He was a member of the Holy Name Society, the society of St. Vincent De Paul, Knights of Columbus Council No. 3001, and the Navy League. He also served on the East Brunswick Board of Education. He was predeceased by a grandson, John Ganim. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Marie Hausermann Henckler of East Brunswick; two sons and daughters-in-law, William L. and Patricia Henckler of East Brunswick, and Joseph E. and Frances Henckler of North Brunswick; a daughter and son-in-law, Germaine and Carl Schwarz of South River; his brother, Regis Henckler of St. Louis; two sisters, Mary Ann Kelley of St. Louis, and Eleanor Wade of Omaha, Neb.; four grandchildren; and one great-grandson. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at Corpus Christi Church. Burial was at Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick. FLORENCE ADELE MARGOLIES, 85, of Hamilton Township died July 2 at home. born in the Bronx, N.Y., she resided in the Kendall Park section of South Brunswick for 20 years before moving to Hamilton Township two years ago. She was a member of Hadassah. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Theodore Margolies of Hamilton Township; her son, Seth Margolies of Austin, Texas; and her daughter and son-in-law, Irene and Buddy Grecco of New York City. Burial was at Floral Park Cemetery, South Brunswick.
THOMAS E. WILSON, 66, of North Brunswick died July 2 at St. Peter’s University Hospital, New Brunswick. Born in Jersey City, he resided in Keansburg and Somerset before moving to North Brunswick 33 years ago. He was a foreman at H.F. Bosenberg Landscaping, North Brunswick, retiring in 1981. He was a member of the Kendall Park Baptist Church, Kendall Park section of South Brunswick. He is survived by his wife, Frances Van Liew Wilson of North Brunswick; two daughters and sons-in-law, Kathryne and Eric Gessner of North Brunswick, and Jennifer and Edward Chionchio of Boonton; a son and daughter-in-law, Thomas E. and Mary Wilson III of Keansburg; and 10 grandchildren. A funeral service was held at Kendall Park Baptist Church. Interment was at Franklin Memorial Park, North Brunswick.
WILLIAM A. AGOVINO, 58, of Manalapan died July 5 at Robert Wood Johnson University Medical Center, New Brunswick. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he resided there several years before moving to Manalapan. He was a salesman for Patterson Dental Co., Totowa. He served with the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. He was a communicant of St. Thomas More Roman Catholic Church, Manalapan. He is survived by his wife, Frances Barone Agovino of Manalapan; two sons and daughters-in-law, Ed and Dawn Agovino of the Monmouth Junction section of South Brunswick, and William A. and Christie Agovino of Santa Clarita, Calif.; his daughter, April Agovino of Manalapan; his mother, Viola Agovino of Freehold, N.Y.; his sister and brother-in-law, Lola and Ed Migliaccio of Freehold, N.Y.; and his grandson. A funeral liturgy was offered at St. Thomas More Roman Catholic Church, Manalapan. Interment
was at Old Tennent Cemetery, Manalapan.
MARY BOKNOSKI FORTNER, 84, of South River died July 7 at home. Prior to her retirement in 1983, she was employed for 30 years as a machine operator at Leedall Co., Milltown. Her husband, Clayton Fortner, died in 1997. Surviving are a son, George Stauch of Allentown; two sisters-in-law, Isabel Fortner of North Brunswick and Dorothy Dziedziak of the Toms River section of Dover; two granddaughters. Lisa Benedetti of the Lawrenceville section of Lawrence and Christine DiBennedetto of Asheville, N.C.; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A service was held at Saints Peter and Paul Russian Orthodox Church, South River. Interment
was in the church cemetery.
DOLORES RUTH TANNER HOFER, 90, of Milltown died July 13 in Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. Her husband, Alfred J. Hofer, died in 1978. Surviving are a daughter, Ruth Ann Ducker of Salinas, Calif.; a son, Alfred Hofer of North Brunswick; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson. Services were held at Selover Funeral Home, North Brunswick. Interment

ANNE MORROW BUNNER, 81, of Spotswood died July 15 in Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge division. Surviving are her husband, Lloyd; a daughter, Donna Kowalew of Jackson; four brothers, Edward Morrow of Lakehurst, Fred Morrow of East Brunswick, William Morrow of Old Bridge and Richard Morrow of the Jobstown section of Springfield; six sisters, Frances Schultz of Spotswood, Madeline Swing of Lexington, N.C., Dorothy Gombas of North Brunswick, Jean Borwegen of East Brunswick, La-Verne Mazer of South River and Phyllis Mertz of Plainsboro; two grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. Services were held at Brunswick Memorial Home, East Brunswick. Interment
was in Chestnut Hill Cemetery, East Brunswick.
