PROMILA GUGNANI BHATIA, 53, of North Brunswick, died July 18 at home. Born in New Delhi, India, she resided in North Brunswick the past 16 years. She was a medical biller at McKesson Corporation, Somerset. She was a graduate of Miranda College, New Delhi. She is survived by her husband, Sham, and her son, Dalip, both at home; her mother, Raj Kumari Gugnani of India; two brothers, Amar Gugnani of Chicago, and Naresh Gugnani of New Delhi; and her sister, Uma R. MARIE VonDEESTEN, 93, of East Brunswick, formerly of Milltown, died July 18 in St. Peter’s University Hospital, New Brunswick. Prior to her retirement in 1973, she was a seamstress for 20 years with Toman Cleaners, North Brunswick. Surviving are her husband, Alfred; a daughter, Helga Ernst of East Brunswick; three grandchildren; and one great-grandson. Services were held at Brunswick Memorial Home, East Brunswick. ROBERT R. BLAINE, 76, of North Brunswick died July 29 at St. Peter’s University Hospital, New Brunswick. Born in Raritan, he resided in North Brunswick for more than 50 years. He was a self-employed carpenter. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 1451, South River, and the American Legion, Joyce Kilmer Post No. 25, Milltown. He was predeceased by his wife, Frances Averill Blaine, in 1994. He is survived by three sons and two daughters-in-law, Robert C. and Sally Blaine of North Brunswick, Thomas G. and Michelle Blaine of the Dayton section of South Brunswick, and John J. Blaine of Plainsboro; his daughter and son-in-law, Kathleen F. and Michael Petrozelli of Whitehouse Station; his brother, William Blaine of Waretown; two sisters, Mary Romano Dunn of Toms River, and Catherine Luthman of Seaside Park; and eight grandchildren. Visitation will be July 31 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at Selover Funeral Home, North Brunswick. A funeral service will be Aug. 1 at 8:15 a.m. at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 9 a.m. at Our Lady of Peace Roman Catholic Church, North Brunswick. Interment
will be at Resurrection Burial Park, Piscataway.
ADA V. (THOMPSON) JENKINS, 84, of North Brunswick died June 19 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Born in Ringoes, she lived in New Brunswick before moving to North Brunswick 47 years ago. She was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Richard M. "Red" Jenkins Sr., in 1996; a son, Richard M. Jenkins Jr., in 1990; and a brother, Edward A. Thompson, in 2001. She is survived by three sons and two daughters-in-law, Mark T. Jenkins, and Robert A. and Donna Jenkins, all of North Brunswick, and William E. and Christine Jenkins of Somerset; four daughters and two sons-in-law, Eileen M. Shoemaker of Jamesburg, Carol A. Jenkins of Somerset, and Virginia R. and Hal Kearney and Janet E. and Michael Kasian, of Monroe Township; a daughter-in-law, Marilyn Jenkins of Edison; a brother, Alfred Thompson of Somerset; a sister, Virginia Previte of North Brunswick; 13 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
EDNA M. DEITZ FEINER, 89, of Kennewick, Wash., formerly of Piscataway, died July 25 at home following a short illness. Born in Minier, Ill., she resided in Bloomington, Ill., Pennsylvania and Piscataway prior to moving to Kennewick in 1996. She was employed at State Farm Insurance, retiring after 20 years. She was predeceased by her ex-husband, Carl Feiner; her sister, Emily Kafer; two brothers, Carl Deitz and Wilbur Deitz; and her son, Fred J. Feiner, in 1993. She is survived by her sister, Dorothy Bose of Colfax, Ill.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Emmie and George Umbright of Kennewick, Wash., and Carol and Tony Contino of Mission Viejo, Calif.; a daughter-in-law, Judith M. Anello Feiner of Toms River; ten grandchildren including Christopher C. Feiner of North Brunswick, Cori Ann Feiner-Escoto of Toms River; and Glenn J. OLGA SHYKO, 86, of Milltown died Aug. 5 at home. Born in New Brunswick, she resided in Milltown since 1947. She was an operator at Personal Products Corp., Milltown, for 20 years, retiring in 1972. She was a member of Saints Peter and Paul Russian Orthodox Church, South River. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, South River Chapter. She was predeceased by her husband, Nicholas Shyko, in 1999; and two brothers, Michael Deshkowski, in 1986, and Paul Jaskowski Sr., in July. She is survived by her son, Nicholas Shyko of Banning, Calif.; her daughter, Paula Shyko of Long Beach, Calif.; her brother, John Jaskowski of North Brunswick; her sister, Helen Robbins of New Brunswick; and one granddaughter. Visitation will be Aug. 7 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at Selover Funeral Home, North Brunswick. A funeral service will be held Aug. 8 at 10 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by a service at 11 a.m. at Saints Peter and Paul Russian Orthodox Church. Interment

RICHARD A. VREELAND, 64, of Millstone died Aug. 8 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Born in Staten Island, N.Y., he had lived in the New Dorp section of Staten Island before moving to Millstone five years ago. Mr. Vreeland was a civil engineer for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey before his retirement in 1994. He was a U.S. Army veteran. He was a parishioner of St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church, Hightstown, and a member of the Holy Name Society of St. Christopher’s Roman Catholic Church, Staten Island. He was a member of the Bella Vista County Club, Marlboro. Mr. Vreeland is survived by his wife, Elaine Vreeland; a son, Richard Vreeland of Queens, N.Y.; a daughter, Sandra Petrizzo of Weddington, N.C.; two sisters, Imogene Buzzi of Colonia and Arlene Skratt of Staten Island; and five grandchildren. A funeral Mass was offered at St. Anthony of Padua Church, followed by interment at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold Township.
JERRY KING, 74, of South River, formerly of North Brunswick, died July 27 in St. Peter’s University Hospital, New Brunswick. Surviving are his wife, Natalie Lefkowitz King; two daughters, Audrey Fenton of South River and Michele Norman of Hampstead, N.C.; a son, Howard King of South River; a brother, Robert King of Rockville Centre, N.Y.; and four grandchildren. A graveside service was held at King Solomon Cemetery, Clifton. A memorial scholarship fund will be established in the deceased’s name at South River High School. Donations may be sent to the family.
CLARENCE H. SAUERS, 95, of East Brunswick died July 31 in St. Peter’s University Hospital, New Brunswick. Prior to his retirement in 1973, he was employed as a machinist at Okonite Cable Co., North Brunswick, where he worked for 49 years. His wife, Gertrude Edwards Sauers, died in 1979. Surviving are four daughters, Dolores Frantz of Collegeville, Pa., Shirley Shelhamer and Jayne Clemente, both of North Brunswick, and Joyce Jakubowski of Florida; two sisters, Madeline Muth of Philadelphia and Ruth Hardy of Medfield, Mass.; six brothers, Ralph of Philadelphia, William, Harry, Fred and Carl, all of Wilkes-Barre, Pa., and Robert of Wilmington, Del.; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Services were held at Selover Funeral Home, North Brunswick. Interment
was in Franklin Memorial Park, North Brunswick.
GEORGE G. LENZA, 77, of North Brunswick died Aug. 11 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Born in Staten Island, N.Y., he resided in Edison prior to moving to North Brunswick 39 years ago. He was a school bus aide for the South Brunswick Board of Education. Prior to that, he was a printer at Sorg Printing Co., New York City, for more than 40 years, retiring in 1988. He served with the U.S. Navy during World War II, and obtained his private pilot’s license at age 65. He was a communicant of Our Lady of Peace Roman Catholic Church, North Brunswick. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Cecelia Campbell Lenza of North Brunswick; two sons, George W. Lenza of South Brunswick, and Daniel Lenza of Delran; two daughters, Patti Corcoran and Melissa Holtrop, both of Orange Park, Fla.; his mother, Celia Coccolli Lenza of Orange Park; and 11 grandchildren. The funeral service will be Aug. 14 at 10:15 a.m. at Selover Funeral Home, North Brunswick. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Peace Roman Catholic Church, North Brunswick.
