MARGARET McGREEVY, 50, of Middletown, died Aug. 9 at Laurel Bay Health & Rehabilitation Center, Keansburg. Born in Newark, she resided there prior to moving to Middletown several years ago. She was a bus driver at Shamrock Bus Company, Keansburg, retiring six years ago. Prior to that, she was a bus driver at Michael Loori Bus Company, Middletown, for 10 years. She was a communicant of St. Catherine’s Roman Catholic Church, Middletown, where she also coached cheerleading and was a bingo volunteer. She was predeceased by her father, George J. McGreevy. She is survived by her son and daughter, Shawn M. and Bridgid A. Nelson, both of Middletown; her mother, Margaret T. McGreevy of Middletown; three sisters, Kathleen McGreevy of South River, and Patricia Goodbody and Barbara Oliver, both Middletown; and her brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Rose McGreevy of Middletown. A funeral liturgy was offered at St. Catherine’s Roman Catholic Church, Middletown.
Virginia Woolley Shibla, 81, of Jackson, died July 30 at Ocean Medical Center, Brick. Mrs. Shibla was born in Howell, and had lived in Neptune before moving to Jackson 15 years ago. She was a meat cutter at ShopRite, Neptune, for 15 years, retiring in 1988. Prior to that, she was a waitress at Van’s Freehold Inn, Our House Tavern, Farmingdale, and Ship’s Wheel in Brielle. She was a member of the Jackson VFW Post No. 4703 Ladies Auxiliary and the Southwind Community Club in Jackson. Mrs. Shibla was predeceased by her husband, Frederick "Vic" Shibla in 1993; four brothers, Calvin, Robert Jr., Norman and Kenneth Woolley, three sisters, Wanda Carlson, Annaka Mandel and B. Jane Horner. She is survived by a brother, Charles W. Woolley, of Howell; a sister, Doris Rapp Brion of Lincroft; a stepson, Victor Shibla of Point Pleasant; two granddaughters, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral arrangements were handled by C.H.T. Clayton & Son Funeral Home, Alelphia. Interment
was in Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery, Arnytown. Memorial contributions may be made to the Howell Lions Club Diabetes Fund, P.O. Box 701, Farmingdale.
RICHARD GIUNCO SR., 69, of Freehold, died Aug. 5 at home. Born in Neptune, he had lived in Belmar before moving to Freehold 44 years ago. Mr. Giunco and his brother, John, were apple growers in Manalapan and owned and operated Twin Lakes Orchards and Wemrock Orchards, Freehold Township, for more than 35 years. For the past 15 years, he operated the family business, Wemrock Orchards, with his son Richard and daughter Jean-Marie. Mr. Giunco was a U.S. Navy veteran. He was a life member of the Manalapan-Millhurst Fire Company and a past fire commissioner. He was a trustee of the Bank of Manalapan and was former chairman of the Manalapan Township Planning Board. Mr. Giunco is survived by his mother, Jeanette Giunco of Freehold; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Richard and Elisabeth Giunco of Freehold, and Albert Giunco of Brazil; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Jean-Marie and Steven Thom of Manalapan; Theresa Giunco Szeliga of Freehold, and Lisa and Rich Meyer of Belmar; and five grandchildren. A funeral liturgy was offered at St. Rose of Lima Roman Catholic Church, Freehold, followed by interment at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold Township.
RAYMOND KILROY, 78, of Keyport died Aug. 24 at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Born in Jersey City, he had lived there before moving to Keyport in 1961. Mr. Kilroy was a depot master for NJ Transit for 30 years before retiring in 1987. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, where he served in the medical corps. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion, both Keyport, and the Raritan Hose Auxiliary. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Council 3402, where be became Grand Knight in 1976 and was a Past Faithful Navigator of the Fourth Degree. He also was active with Boy Scout Troop 80, which met at Council 3402. He was a communicant of Jesus the Lord Roman Catholic Church, Keyport, and a former member of St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, Keyport, where he served as an usher and Eucharistic minister. Mr. Kilroy was predeceased by two brothers, Walter and John Kilroy, and a sister, Marie Marino. He is survived by his wife, Christine; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Michael Kilroy of Keansburg, Gerard and April Kilroy of Rolla, Mo., and Raymond and Eileen Kilroy of Keyport; a daughter, Christine Kilroy of Keyport; a brother, Charles Kilroy of Jersey City; a sister, Grace Goode of Whiting; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held at Day Funeral Home, 361 Maple Place, Keyport, Aug. 28 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. A funeral Mass will be offered at Jesus the Lord Church Aug. 29 at 10 a.m. Interment
will be at Fair View Cemetery, Middletown.
DAVID J. WALKER, 41, of Little Silver died Aug. 18 at home. Born in Red Bank, he lived in Rumson and Shrewsbury prior to moving to Little Silver eight years ago. He was a real estate appraiser. His memberships included the Red Bank Elks, Monmouth County Realtor Association, and Appraisal Institute - National Organization. He enjoyed soccer and coached at various schools and Ocean Township Recreation and served as referee for the Monmouth County District. He was a graduate of Red Bank High School and Elmira College, New York. He was predeceased by a nephew, Kenneth L. Walker IV. He is survived by his parents, Lorraine and Kenneth L. Walker Jr. of Little Silver; his grandmother, Frances P. Walker of Hazlet; his brother, Kenneth L. and Michele Walker III of Brielle; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Kathleen and Alan Shatto of Okeechobee, Fla.; Suzanne and Stephen Barberio of Birmingham, Ala.; and Cindy and Robert Bumsted of Exeter, N.H.; five nephews; and four nieces. RICHARD P. BURKE, 86, of Shadow Lake Village, Middletown, and Bradenton, Fla., died Aug. 25 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. A native of Jersey City, where he was known as "Boots," Mr. Burke was employed in the sales division of Norfolk and Western Railway. He attended Seton Hall University, South Orange, and played semi-professional baseball. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of World War II, one of five brothers on active duty. He was an ack-ack gunner aboard the USS Hornet at the time of the Doolittle Raid, and was wounded by shrapnel during a kamikaze attack, earning him the Bronze Star for valor and the Purple Heart, among other medals. After the Hornet was disabled in the Battle of Santa Cruz, Mr. Burke served in campaigns on Guadalcanal, Guam, Okinawa and Bouganville. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Dorothy Golden Burke; a daughter, Bonnie, and a son, Tim, both of Middletown; and two brothers, John of Tinton Falls and Ned of Riverside, Calif. A funeral Mass will be offered Aug. 29 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Catharine’s Roman Catholic Church, Holmdel. DORIS E. THORNE WENZEL, 83, of Union Beach died Aug. 13 at home. Born in Keansburg, she lived there prior to moving to Union Beach 58 years ago. She was a homemaker. She was a communicant of Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, Union Beach. She was a member of the Union Beach First Aid Ladies Auxiliary. She was predeceased by her husband, Albert C. Wenzel Sr. in 1991; a son, Albert C. Wenzel Jr. in 1996; and a brother, William Thorne. She is survived by two sons, James D. Wenzel of Toms River, and Lee R. Wenzel of Newington, Conn.; her brother, Paul Thorne of Bloomfield; her sister, Barbara Thorne of Keansburg; three sisters-in-law, Gloria Thorne of Keansburg, Mary Wenzel of Bradenton, and Geraldine Davis of Middletown; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, Union Beach. Interment

ROSE M. McGUINESS, 84, of Middletown died Aug. 16 at Jersey Shore Rehabilitation Center, Eatontown. She resided in Highlands and Jersey City prior to moving to Middletown. She was an administrative assistant at Jersey City Board of Education, retiring after 20 years. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Highlands. She was a former parishioner at St. Aloysius Roman Catholic Church, Jersey City, where she was a member and past president of the Rosary Society. She was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, James F. McGuiness, in 2001; a brother, Al Collins; two sisters, Catherine Neikam and Agnes Kenny; and a sister-in-law, Sister Eileen Marie O.P. She is survived by her brother, Edward V. Collins of Bristol, R.I.; and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Interment

ANTOINETTE DANAPAS, 81, of Freehold Township died Aug. 19 at Montgomery Care Center, Freehold Township. Born in Raggusso, Italy, she had lived in the Bay Ridge section of Brooklyn, N.Y., before moving to Freehold Township in 1988. Mrs. Danapas was an administrative assistant at the Fontbonne Academy, Brooklyn, N.Y., from 1966 to 1984. She was then a bookkeeper for Bay Ride Medical Supply, Bay Ridge, for four years. Surviving are her husband, William A. Danapas; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Karen and George Adjami of Middletown, Jane Danapas of Bay Ridge, and Maria and Clifford Johnson of San Diego; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandson. The funeral liturgy was celebrated at St. Rose of Lima Roman Catholic Church, Freehold, followed by interment at Fair View Cemetery, Middletown.
CHARLES "MANS" M. EVERSON, 82, of Union Beach died Aug. 19 at Bayshore Health Center, Holmdel. Born in Keyport, he resided in Keyport for several years prior to moving to Union Beach. He was a pipe fitter at National Lead, Sayreville, for 32 years. He served with the U.S. Marines during World War II. His memberships included American Legion Post No. 3321, Union Beach, and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 4303, Hazlet. He enjoyed time with his family, and going crabbing. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Dorothy E. Ryan Everson of Union Beach; two daughters, Teresa Bolte of Keyport, and Carolyn Kingeter of Point Pleasant; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
