DOROTHY H. WITTKE, 75, of Hazlet died July 7 at Bayshore Health Center, Holmdel. Born in Elizabeth, she had lived in Staten Island, N.Y., before moving to Hazlet nine years ago. Mrs. Wittke was a manager at Sears, retiring in 1985. She also sold Tupperware. She was predeceased by her husband, Stanley Wittke, in 1984. She is survived by a son, Ted Wittke of Hazlet; a daughter, Susan Fleischmann of Staten Island; a sister, Faith Chappell of Staten Island; two brothers, Arthur Wetmore of Toms River and John Wetmore of Staten Island; and five grandsons. Entombment was at Holmdel Mausoleum.
ELSIE EMILY NEFF, 91, of Keyport died July 8 at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Born in New York City, she resided in the Bronx, N.Y., before moving to Keyport 18 years ago. Mrs. Neff was a homemaker. She was a member of the Holy Family Seniors, Union Beach, and St. Clement’s Seniors, Matawan. She was predeceased by her husband, Martin Neff, in 1974. Mrs. Neff is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Eleanor and Chester Bennett of Middletown, and Cecelia and Frank Vaccaro of Oley, Pa.; a son and daughter-in-law, Martin and Christina Neff of Seaside Heights; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Interment
was at Rose Hills Memorial Park Cemetery, Putnam Valley, N.Y.
OLGA MOSKWA HANIS, 78, of South River died June 30 at Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge division. Surviving are her husband of 56 years, Joseph Hanis Sr.; three sons, Joseph Jr. of South Amboy, James of Edison, and John of the Cliffwood Beach section of Aberdeen; two daughters, Shirley Shepsko of Spotswood, and Sharon Jerscheid of New Brunswick; her brother, William Moskwa of Olyphant, Pa.; two sisters, Evelyn Janczek of Phoenix, Ariz., and Ann Jurkievich of Dixon City, Pa.; 11 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Burial was at Chestnut Hill Cemetery, East Brunswick.
FERDINAND "FRED" N. STILO III, 35, of Old Bridge died July 6 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick, following a lengthy battle with cancer. He was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. Mr. Stilo was a business unit consultant at Perot Systems, New York City, the past four years. He was predeceased by his father, Ferdinand N. Stilo II, in 1997; and a sister, Deborah Stilo, in 1981. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy A.J. Gallop, and two sons, Justin T. Stilo and Theodore S. Stilo, all of Old Bridge; his mother, Jeanette Murino-Stilo of Middletown; a brother, John Stilo of Matawan; and his maternal grandmother, Helen Donahue of Spotswood. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered July 9 at 9:15 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, Keyport. Interment
will be at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Middletown.
JOHN LEDES, Holmdel, died May 28 at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Born in Connecticut, he resided in New Jersey most of his life. He was a retired furniture salesman at Penn Furniture, Neptune. He served with the U.S. Navy during World War II and survived the sinking of his ship, the USS Hilary P. Jones, by a Japanese bomb. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 2170, Port Monmouth section of Middletown, American Legion Post No. 321, Union Beach, for which he served as chaplain for several years. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Marie Ledes; two daughters, Christine Reissman and Carol Kalma, both of New York; and four grandchildren. Interment
was at St. Joseph’s Mausoleum, Keyport.
CARLA A. MAHER, 54, of Old Bridge died June 27 at Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge division. She was a language arts teacher the past 32 years at Immaculate Conception School, Spotswood. Her numerous awards include the Metuchen Diocese Educator of the Year Award, the Knights of Columbus Shield Award, and two nominations to Who’s Who Among American Teachers. She was also recognized by the Atlanta Committee for the Olympic Games as a Community Hero, and served as a Community Hero Torchbearer for the 1996 summer Olympics. Her volunteer activities included Special People United to Ride, Monmouth County; Old Bridge Day Camp; and Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge division. Surviving are her husband of 27 years, William; two daughters, Kristin and Kaitln; her mother, Martha Orlowski of South Amboy; three brothers, Leonard Orlowski of Sayreville, Robert Orlowski of Matawan, and Ronald Orlowski of South Amboy; and her sister, Nancy Orlowski of South Amboy. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Spotswood. Interment was at Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick. BRIAN K. ERRICKSON, 28, of Shrewsbury Township, died June 28 at home. Born in Red Bank, he resided in Shrewsbury Township the past five years. Mr. Errickson was a supervisor at the U.S. Postal Service Annex, Eatontown. He is survived by his daughter, Kayleigh Errickson of the Morganville section of Marlboro; his parents, William M. Errickson of Middletown and Adriann N. Errickson of East Windsor; his grandmothers, Diane Schaap of Keyport and Marcella Shields of Pinehurst, N.C.; a sister, Stephanie Horne of Portales, New Mexico; a niece and a nephew. EDMUND E. CROSSLEY, 89, of Holmdel died June 29 at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Born in Hanover, Mass., he resided in Plymouth, Mass., and Albany, N.Y., before moving to Holmdel 50 years ago. Mr. Crossley was an inspector for the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Animal Health Division, for 44 years, retiring in 1985. He was a member of St. John’s Methodist Church, Hazlet. A former carpenter, his hobby was woodworking. He was predeceased by a daughter, Ethel McCreath. He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Katherine Coit Crossley of Holmdel; three sons, Donald Crossley of Lawton, Ohio; Edmund "Ned" Crossley of Highland Falls, N.Y.; and David Crossley of Holmdel; a daughter, Shirley Kelly of Kinderhook, N.Y.; a sister, Helenmae Marshall of Hooksett, N.H.; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. The Rev. Richard Nichols officiated at a memorial service. Interment

ANNE RICKERSHAUSER KOCH, 89, of the Cliffwood Beach section of Aberdeen, died June 30 at Bayside Manor Nursing Home, Keansburg. Born in Newark, she resided in Irvington before moving to Cliffwood Beach. Mrs. Koch was a sales clerk at Woolworth’s, Irvington, for 25 years, retiring in 1979. She was predeceased by her first husband, Frank Sullivan, in 1975; her second husband, Jacob Koch, in 1999; her brothers, Richard, Charles, George, Fred and John Rickershauser, and Robert Nagengast; and her sister, Maria Schwankert. She is survived by her son, Frank P. Sullivan of Cliffwood Beach; her daughter, Marie Yacobelli of Hazlet; five grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
YOLANDA VALANZANO, 86, of Sterling, Va., and formerly Aberdeen, died June 30 at Sunrise Senior Living, Sterling. She was born in New York City. Mrs. Valanzano was a homemaker. She was predeceased by her husband, Eugene A. Valanzano, in 2000. She is survived by two sons, Anthony Valanzano of Great Falls, Va., and Eugene Valanzano of Indianapolis; a daughter, Maria Pond of Jackson, Miss.; a sister, Molly Chiorchio; two brothers, Frank Grande and Sam Grande; four grandchildren; and one great-grandson. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, Keyport. Entombment was at St. Joseph’s Mausoleum, Keyport.
JOSEPH P. ANTOL, 56, of Matawan, died July 2 at home. Born in Perth Amboy, he resided there until moving to Matawan 26 years ago. Mr. Antol was a senior business analyst at IBM, Pine Brook, for 10 years. Prior to that, he worked at Supermarkets General Corp., Rahway, for 22 years. He served with the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He was a communicant of St. Clement’s Roman Catholic Church, Matawan. Mr. Antol is survived by his wife, Joanne Adams Antol; a daughter, Annmarie Antol, at home; and his stepmother, Marie Antol of Lakewood. Interment
was at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Keyport.
