CLAIRE L. KAY, 84, of Matawan died April 23 at Victoria Health Care, Matawan. Born in Scran­ton, Pa., she resided in Aberdeen, and the Bronx, N.Y., prior to moving to Matawan three years ago. She was a registered nurse at various locations in New York City, retiring in 1940. She was prede­ceased by her husband, Frederick Kay in 1976, and two brothers. She is survived by her daughter, Margaret Raymond of the Cliffwood Beach section of Aberdeen; her son, Frederick Kay Jr. of the Bronx, N.Y.; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was of­fered at St. Clement’s Roman Catholic Church, Matawan. Interment was at Long Island National Cemetery, Long Island, N.Y.

ALPHONSO "AL" CARRINO, 62, of Las Vegas, formerly of Eatontown, died April 5 at home following a long battle with cancer. Born in Neptune, he resided in Asbury Park, Middletown, Eatontown, and Boca Raton, Fla., prior to moving to Las Vegas six months ago. Mr. Carrino was a retired plumbing foreman for buildings such as the World Trade Center, and a manager and bartender at Mr. C’s, Deal. He was a member of the Eatontown Recreation Advisory Board for several years. He was active in sports, and coached Little League and Pony League in Eatontown, and basketball for St. Dorothea’s CYO League, also Eatontown. He was also an avid golfer. He is survived by his wife, Carole Carrino of Las Vegas; his son, Kevin Carrino of Long Branch; four daughters, Trina Farland of Pine, Colo.; Rose Banks and Bambi Montag, both Las Vegas; and Paddy Carman of Endicott, N.Y.; two brothers, Anthony Alo of Las Vegas and Frank Carrino of Wall; and 11 grandchildren. A memorial service will be held May 9 at 5:30 p.m. at Woodbine Chapel Mausoleum, Oceanport.

LEONORA ANNA KNOX, 78, of Matawan died May 3 at Madison Center, Matawan. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., she resided in South Brunswick and Spotswood for 25 years prior to moving to Matawan. Mrs. Knox was a cook at Carter Wallace, Cranbury, for 10 years, retiring in 1988. Prior to that, she was a cook at Howard Johnson’s, Jamesburg. She was a member of Fresh Ponds Chapel, South Brunswick. Mrs. Knox was predeceased by her husband, Peter B. Knox, in 1969. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Leonora and Randall Dey of Matawan; three sons and daughters-in-law, Luke J. and Fay Knox of Spotswood, Peter and Toni Knox Jr. of Edison, and James E. and Debbie Knox of North Brunswick; six sisters, Althea Pearce of the Cliffwood Beach section of Aberdeen, Dorothy Schwartz of Dunellen, Fla., Marjorie Koon of Jacobstown, Marlene Jegou of Milltown, Marilyn Hall of Whitehouse Station, and Wilma Tallman of Syracuse, N.Y.; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held May 7 at 10 a.m. at The Crabiel Home for Funerals, Milltown. Interment will be at Fresh Ponds Chapel Cemetery, South Brunswick. Memorial donations may be made to the American Red Cross, 123 How Lane, New Brunswick 08901.

JUDY D. LaPORTE, 59, of Dingmans Ferry, Pa., died April 29 at Overlook Hospital, Summit. Born in Troy, N.Y., she resided in Hazlet and Toms River prior to moving to Dingmans Ferry 1.5 years ago. She was an executive secretary at Puerto Rico Marine Management, Port Elizabeth, for 20 years, retiring in 2002. She was predeceased by her father, John S. Rever. She is survived by her mother, Eva Viscusi Rever of Toms River; her husband, Ralph L. LaPorte of Dingmans Ferry, Pa.; her daughter, Robin Jill Planko of Freehold; two sons, Glenn Michael LaPorte of Old Bridge, and Matthew John LaPorte of Keyport; two sisters, Sandy Kropkowski of Maryland, and Terri Norris of Virginia; and four grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, Keyport. Entombment was at St. Joseph’s Mausoleum, Keyport.

MARY JANE ROEMER, 90, of Red Bank died April 9 at Navesink House, Red Bank. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., she lived there and in Middletown before moving to Red Bank seven years ago. Mrs. Roemer was a teacher at the Brooklyn Diocese for more than 20 years before her retirement. She was a communicant of St. James Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank. She also was involved in the communities of her residence, Shadow Lake Village, Middletown, and Navesink House. Mrs. Roemer was predeceased by her brother, Andrew Dalton. She is survived by her son, Frederick J. Roemer of Rumson; her sister, Rose Ann Nicoletti of Lynbrook, N.Y.; two grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at St. James Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank. Interment was at Fair View Cemetery Mausoleum, Fairfield.

ROSE T. SICILIANO VACCARO, 90, of Middletown died May 1 at home. Born in Neptune, she resided in Queens, N.Y., prior to moving to Middletown in 1974. She was a retired operator for N.J. Bell, Asbury Park. She also served as a secretary at United Cerebral Palsy, Queens, N.Y. She was a communicant of St. Catharine’s Roman Catholic Church, Holmdel. She was a member of the Monmouth Center for Vocational Rehabilitation. She was predeceased by two brothers, Frank Siciliano and Felix Siciliano; and a sister, Geraldine Wilkins. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Pasquale Vaccaro of Middletown; her son, Martin Vaccaro of Middletown; two daughters and one son-in-law, Teresa and Walter Olson of Middletown, and Angela Siciliano of Queens, N.Y.; four sisters, Margarite O’Hare of Manasquan, Ann Siciliano of Willmette, Ill., Frances Foster of Ocean Township, and Mary Juliano of Deal; three brothers, Sam Siciliano of Shrewsbury, Eugene Siciliano of Deal, and Joseph Siciliano of Interlaken; and three grandchildren. A funeral liturgy was offered at St. Catharine’s Roman Catholic Church, Holmdel. Burial was at St. Catherine’s Cemetery, Sea Girt. Memorial donations may be made to We Care Adult Care Inc., 500 Route 35 south, Middletown 07748.

THEODORA "TEDDY" BARENTZEN BROWN, 102, of Middletown died May 10 at home. Born in Ossining, N.Y., she resided in Maplewood and Red Bank before moving to Middletown in 1956. Mrs. Brown was a teacher at Red Bank High School, beginning in 1926 and retiring, for a second time, in 1971. She was a member of United Methodist Church, Red Bank. She was predeceased by her husband of 59 years, Robert C. Brown, in 1985; and a son, Robert Theodore Brown, in 1974. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, David S. and Patricia L. Brown of Middletown; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. A memorial service was held at United Methodist Church, Red Bank. Memorial donations may be made to Theodora Barentzen Brown Scholarship Fund at Red Bank Regional High School, 5 Lombardi Court, Red Bank 07701.

FREDRICK WILHELM STOLL, 89, of Middletown Township died May 3 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Born in Jersey City, he resided in Keansburg before moving to Middletown 44 years ago. Mr. Stoll was a retail grocery manager at Safeway Supermarket, Atlantic Highlands, retiring in 1975. He attended Community Methodist Church, Keansburg. He was a member of Secaucus Hudson Lodge No. 72, Free and Accepted Masons., and the United Food and Commercial Workers No. 1262, Clifton. Mr. Stoll is survived by his wife of 60 years, Eleanor Ingram Stoll of Middletown; three daughters, Arlene F. Cherry of Nesconset, N.Y., Carolyn Kacedon of Jackson, and Janette Daly of Florence Township; his brother, Edwin Stoll of Poughkeepsie, N.Y.; his sister, Helen Vandewater of Florence Township; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. A funeral service was held and officiated by the Rev. Myrna Bethke of First United Methodist Church, Freehold. Memorial donations may be made to Secaucus Hudson Lodge No. 72 Scholarship Fund, 1422 Paterson Plank Road, Secaucus 07094.

JOHN T. FINELLO, 91, of East Brunswick, formerly of Middletown, died April 26 in Highlands Home, Edison. His wife, Mary Sprofera Finello, died in 1989. Surviving are two sons, Joseph of Spring Lake and Anthony of East Brunswick; a brother, Joseph of Barnegat; a sister, Mabel Miele of Middletown; and four grandchildren. A Mass was offered at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Old Bridge. Interment was in Holy Name Cemetery, Jersey City.
